Command & Conquer 3 Kane Edition: NZ/AU Box

Recommended Posts

My copy of C&C 3 arrived early this morning. I thought it would be a good idea to post up a pic for comparison to versions released in other countries, so you have pic post it.

Here is photo of the disappointing Kane Edition released in New Zealand and Australia. These are made by EA Australia.

There is no limited edition number on the box at all. Just as you see in the photo, the 2 DVDs (one for the game, one for the bonus stuff). All packed away in standard DVD case.

This goes back to what I talking about a while back about the crappy so called "collectors editions" we get in this part of the world. Thank you EA Australia

In the end its only packaging, and its the data on the DVD that counts.

You should have posted your S.T.A.L.K.E.R. box for comparison. That'd show EA how THQ go outta their way for special editions.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. was an embossed style tin box right?

They shouldve atleast came in a tin or something like the supreme commander special edition..I wasn't too impressed with the case it came in but meh, I wouldn't even know it was a special edition if it didnt say Kane Edition under the title in smallish writing

I Just got my Kane editon. Hi, i am a new member and reside in the Netherlands. Where can i find the limited version number? My manual and install language options are both English only... is there anyone here that has a native language version?.. i think it is strange that EA release for example battlefield 2142 in Dutch and C&C3 only in English.

I actually like the special edition ones from ea australia. Finnaly a PC game that comes in a slimline dvd case not one of those chunky flastic box things. I got a number on mine though (7401) so maybe the ones sent to NZ didnt get them.

I'm going to contact EA NZ and tell them that this poor excuse for a so called collectors edition of C&C is a rip off. It cost me $109.95, and looking it at its not what I expected.

The Dutch version is the same kind of rip-off. You go through the hassle of pre-ordering to get a Kane edition. It's not in normal stores at all - yet the normal edition goes on sale a day earlier for just €40 in some places. I guess it's just for the bonus disc then... no limited edition # or anything. This Dutch Kane edition is marked "EA Switzerland"... so probably our market is too small for extra goodies.

That's exactly the same as the UK version. There isn't a limited edition number on it unfortunately. I believe what you have there is the Kane edition published at the exact same publishing plant as mine was. I heard that some UK copies were being exported to certain european countries.

I had bought mine at bol.com don't know if you know that company... I think it is sad that i don't even got a dutch manual... and that my game came a day after the normal release date... humf... and now i can't even play online games cause my game crashes in the online lobby...

but.. singeplayer is great... even on easy setting i sometimes have serious difficulty getting a level complete.... NOOB haha...

My C&C 3 Kane Edition that I purchased from a New Zealand retailer (www.gpstore.co.nz) has EA Swiss on the back cover so I guess mine the Swiss version for European territories. Originally when this thread was started I blamed the crap Kane Edition I got on EA Australia ;)

Compare it to the US version seen the pic below:

cnc3nzusarx1.th.jpg

Check Zee's post for the contents of the US box.

In case you can't tell have both the NZ and US release of C&C 3, as I do for all C&C games except Renegade, just the US version of that.

I just checked mine, it has reference to EA Switzerland on the back yet the EA Australia URL. My limited edition number has rubbed off which is a little annoying as well
