Frank Klepacki Talks About Red Alert 3

Recommended Posts

Evo’s PC Gaming Blog has posted an interview with Frank Klepacki, the man who created all the classic C&C music. The interview covers Frank's most recent work, side projects and tackles the question about Frank Klepacki creating the music for the recently announced Red Alert 3.

Chris: Command and Conquer Red Alert 3 has just been announced and I have already seen numerous fans clamouring for you to do the soundtrack, can you comment on this?

Frank: The flood gates opened up on my fan mail right after that announcement.

Regarding RA3, I’ve heard about it just as you have, so I’ve not been contacted. Ultimately EA would have to ask Petroglyph to use me on it, and then it would be up to Petroglyph to allow it. If those things align, you better believe I would score that game, no question!

Yep, things must align! :headrock:

I won't be able to take another musicless C&C game :worried:

Well then, get used to it. If EA didn't learn from TW to get Frank for KW, they ain't gonna learn.

The thing is EA said they did ask Frank to do the music for C&C 3 but he was unavailable. I hope all things work out and Frank does RA3 soundtrack but we don't know what plans EA has in this department. For all we know the job may go to Steve Jablonsky again or someone else.

we already lost the atmosphere in C&C3..

Some crap generals like loop could ruin RA3 completely.

They didnt only state it, they truly contacted Petro, i asked Frank personally.

I really hope that he can do the music for RA3...

In effect Frank has given them the key to the door. All they have to do is use it and let him in, with Petro's permission of course.

why would petro ever let that happen..

this is a sad moment in C&C history.

Im sure EA can make RA3 great without Frank even tho he would spice the game to perfection.

Would have been better for him not to do that interview i think - raises people's hopes...

Yeah, I'd be happy if they could only get him to do HM3. The game wouldn't be a Red Alert without the kick *** opener.

yea of course HM3 would have to be done my frank...and having him would seal the deal on my hopes for this game, and everyones hope too....either way if they cant get frank, hope they get someone up to par or better....

is Apoc handling RA3? if so i wonder what he has to say about this

If Petroglyph allowed it, EA would probably do it in a heartbeat.

I think you're right that his very open response is just going to get our hopes up, and then dashed. Still the quote shows Frank's not got any issues, and he can hide behind the corporate nonsense if things don't work out. (Not *my* fault.)

If the compromise was a single re-mix or updated version of Hell March - we would be all happy.

So fingers crossed for the stars to align... and wot-not.

Of course it will be different if FK was freelancing, but regular paychecks would be kinda hard to turn down! :)

Is there much precedent for guest musicians for a single track, or staff from other companies collaborating like this???
