    EA Gearing Up for Gamescom 2012

    I don't know what to say...I'm kind of disappointed. I understood why they might not have much to show until E3, and even at E3, but GamesCom? it's even stranger, because C&C has always had a strong presence at GamesCom/Games Convention events. They keep saying they don't reveal anything because they want to meet internal milestones...Well, while this product is being developed, we are hearing nothing about it, and it is supposed to come out next year. How can the community stay alive after a new game is announced, when no more information is given over a period of 8 months, if not for longer than that? 8 months - That's how much time will have elapsed since the reveal in December of 2011 by GamesCom.   4. The Russian Shock Trooper in the Generals: Zero Hour mod Rise of the Reds has received a graphical uplift, as can be seen in their latest news update titled, Below the Thunder. This update also includes a short story to end the "General Orlov in Africa" series, which have come with recent updates. An updated profile for General Orlov has also been released and more General profiles will be shown in upcoming news updates. Tiberium Wars Advanced, a mod for C&C3, has received an update that fixes most of the bugs and issues that remained in the last version, also adding a new Scrin unit, called the Shrike, which is still in a testing phase. The update goes into further detail about the role of each naval unit and hints at the possibility of the navy system changing to allow for faction-specific naval units.   8. Dawn of the Tiberium Age, a mod for Tiberian Sun that recreates the first Command & Conquer game, has now been updated to 1.11009.   9. Battle for Earth: Uprise, a total conversion mod for Red Alert 3, has recently surfaced. It features an original universe, where Dinosaurs evolved with intelligence and developed their own high-tech weapons of war, alongside humanity. The mod features 3 races: the Humans, the Raptors and the Stenonychosauri. The Humans are low-tech when compared to the other two factions, but rely on nuclear technology and fuel combustion, making do with what they can get their hands on. The Raptors have developed highly advanced genetic technology, and are capable of not only altering weaker Dinosaur species to fit their needs, but can also resurrect extinct ones. The last of the 3 races, the Stenonychosauri, have high-tech weaponry such as plasma, laser and acoustic weaponry. Their technologies are environmentally safe and the most advanced of the three.   14. The Rise of the Reds mod team has revealed some of the new infantry and a new base defense for the GLA. They have also put up a small description for each of the infantry and the base defense, dubbed the Dushka Nest, alongside a short story about a Russian platoon encountering GLA forces. This latest version finalizes the art and English translation, also fixing the few minor bugs present in the 1.7 release.
