Recommended Posts

Some new in game screen shots for The Red Alert, a mod for Red Alert 3, have been posted at CNC Labs. These new screen shots feature three Allied vehicles and two Soviet vehicles in game and fully functional. It also shows the Allied War Factory and Allied Pillbox. Two samples can be seen below.

Gotta love the classic units and structures ingame. But I wish they could have been a little more textured enough.

Well they look more intimidating and realistic than the newer stuff.

Seems better than Red Alert 3.

True, only if the mod includes mission maps from the originals. (including the expansions)

This add-on will pwn and own RA3.

I like it I like it a lot but I have to agree with Purplescrin about it would have been great to have the originals missions.

Will the missions get add later ones the mod is done?

I sill think Red Alert 1 is better than Red Alert 2 and 3 but thats just me for you  :ra:

Red Alert 1 is classic. Serious military WW2 and Cold War stuff with creative implementations of real life rumored/concept experimental weaponry.

Then comes RA2 and its sequel, which is a parody to the original. And it's classic too, just a different form of classic.

That's still undetermined. For now, we're focusing on getting stuff in-game.

Oh yeah! The classic RA1 is coming to life, I hope the missions are available including the theater of war. I just got too tired with EA's Red Alert universe & their linear missions, I'm sure they will never follow Westwood's footsteps.

Go original Apocalypse Tank with missile launchers! Or as normal, the Soviet Mammoth Tank! This mod is worth downloading for me since after the last Deezire mod I downloaded.

If the modder wants to include all these little mission suggestions, the waiting time for this mod will be longer than before.

Well, one step at a time, my friend. ;) I thought I remember they said they'll include the missions and since they are trying to turn this classic 2D game into modern 3D. But anyway, one step at a time, we can play with those units in the skirmish. ;) Only skirmish, missions (The co-op one) will definitely crash the whole thing if anyone would have to select it.

That sounds better! Can't wait to test the skirmish version of it first!

True, I remember playing several Generals' mod, the skirmish has to be tested first, if mission straight away, it'll crash if you're not careful, especially they'll be missing models, missing icons, and in RA3, missing co-commanders & its command options.

Perhaps so, not just a beta to test just like we test RA3, it's also best that we also test the gameplay balance if this mod is going to be played as multiplayer. And if there's a RA2 or YR version, fine by me, we can beta test that too, just to keep the Westwood traditions alive. ;)
