New Command & Conquer 4 Artwork

Recommended Posts

Here's some new Command & Conquer 4 artwork courtesy of the Czech gaming magazine, SCORE. Apparently this is EA created artwork and its being used on the cover of the SCORE magazine. Either way it looks great.

Thanks to our friends at CNCczech.com for the image.

I don't know why but I LOLed at the flame thrower. He sure looks funny. Maybe its the legs, or the weapon wacky thick design, or the overall look just looks funny.

First thing I noticed was the Black Hand logo on the chest.

Although I have my doubts if this is C&C4 related concept art, I keep thinking its left over art from Kane's Wrath.

Looks very cartoonish. But Tiberium looks good, as do the flames.

Sonic: I doubt it because it portrays the new Flame tank.

Well at least there is tiberium present, I'll take that as a good sign...

If you look closer behind this funny looking Marcion's Black Hand Flame Thrower you'll see C&C4's Flame Tank, thus eliminating the thought that its a left over old concept art.

If this is C&C4 and these Tiberium crystals are smaller bunch of crystals (... wait still without pods?), I think there's some hope.

The shot of Kane looks old. But the rest looks good.

I don't like the boxy flame thrower though.

I'm stealing this comment but: For C&C3 EA ignored TS and took their inspirations from TD, and now with C&C4, EA is ignoring C&C3 and taking their inspirations from TS. Make up your minds!

heheh. ^_^

Well then that proves you guys are far more observant than I am ;) I only noticed the Black Hand logo first, honestly never looked to hard at the Flame Tank.

Will we be awarded with a slice of cake each?

It's kinda funny in a way they reused C&C3's Kane's face.

Haw haw, me too, that flame tank, although kind of boxy with lesser polygons, I'm not sure if I can accept that. As for the Black Hand logo, it was kind of ok even if it's as close to the Isengard or White Hand logo from the "Battle For Middle Earth" game.

The tiberium looks awesome!, but the rest is really too much KW and reuse I think.

Both C&C3 and 4 have the fuel tanks at absurd and exposed angles, of all versions of the flame tank, I like Renegade's the best.

To be fair, the flame tank always looked a bit bulbous and silly.

Yeah, it's more like an: "Hey the civilians are dead! let's build a big toy and fry them before they get stinky and attract GDI's" kinda unit.

It doesn't look appropriate for dangerous military missions. I wouldn't drive it if I knew I had to go up against other tanks with it, that's suicide :)

Renegade? One of the best C&C games out there. Still more fun than most other FPS despite its outdated graphics.

And if its flame tank was used for the C&C3 design, it'd look several times better than it looks now.

EALA is really slow learner or worse: they don't want to learn. There were many complaints about cartoony design of some C&C3 Nod units and now we get even some worse designed units (flame tank for example). Tiberian universe is dark, serious, detailed, and units and a whole game need to be designed in that manner. If they don't have a inspiration or even if they don't know how to achieve that, there is tons of old Westwood concept arts which they can always consult, and I know they do, but somehow that their choice of "artistic" design direction over serious design ruins everything.

You can't blame EALA, it also has to do with the entire illogical corporation policies nonsense, either ignoring westwood stuff because they think they can do better than westwood, or as a result hiring illogical artists who possibly has no idea what C&C is, and viola, done, where's my pay?
