C&C 4 Nod Avatar to be Redesigned?

Recommended Posts

It seems our friend the Nod Avatar in Command & Conquer 4 could be getting some work done to improve his looks. Assuming that's what APOC's recent update on his Twitter page is hinting at.

Me and Nod Avatar had a little chat with our EP/Art Director, we came to some resolutions quicker than the health care debate, stay tuned

Some of the Nod unit designs haven't been received to well by many fans. So hopefully EALA can make improvements on what the Avatar currently looks like, as seen the picture above. Personally I feel they should go back to the Tiberium Wars version of the Avatar and improve on that model.

Every unit that is coming back from C&C3, just use that model. Because quite frankly the C&C3 models are far superior to anything that C&C4 has to offer. Kinda step backwards really.

I got to be honest with that too, the Avatar is one thing, there's more according to my visual point of view as I did in the C&C4 unit guide thread. There's still the engineer, Specter, Ascended & the Devout. Most of the Nod units are already terrible looking, one RA3 Apoc tank was bad enough before the redesign, but so many Nod units in C&C4?!

For the Avatar, I prefer the change of the cannon into more serious looking other than just a simple PVC pipe. Even if it's changed, it's still quite wacky to change just the cannon alone.

Man ive got to say....that thing is ugly as sin. Though tbh most, if not all, of the C&C4 models look like crap. I hope to god they rework that mechanical tree with cannons. Thing looks so stiff....and top heavy....

Yes please. Please change the C&C4 Avatar looks and all. The 3 or 5 PVC pipes are disturbing enough, and the legs look bad too. Perhaps the only thing they can savage is the head, I guess.

seriously, the avatars cannons are like giant white crayons

no doubt that the avatar needs to be changed

and his firing animation is very very wrong, on firing instead of moving a little bit back the cannons where moving forward like arrows!

As Sonic had suggested, they should evolve the Avatar from Tiberium Wars concept, or probably the Nod redeemer would be good.

If they're doing this to the Avatar, I dare not imagine what they're doing to other designs...

Wait till you see the Nod engineer. The community has given him a new nickname, something like wormman?.

Btw check this hilarious pic out.

Excellent. While they're at it, they can redesign the Cyborg Commando too. And that blasted Nod Engineer.

Well, since you mentioned about the Nod Cyborg Commando, I thought it was kind of interesting. I have no idea is it pure coincidence or just paying a homage to Stargate SG-1 Sokar's Necropolis Jaffa Guard armor.

Look:

The main problem with the Avatar is the whole cannon/arm design. Give him actual arms with claw like hands, his cannons could be mounted on either arm, when upgraded he can have shoulder mounted cannons. And these cannons should no be sliver either.

Someone said take a look at the redeemer...

Sounds like a god idea.. four legs sure would help that thing... but the biggest problem is those awful arms and cannons, i want the arms, guns and firing more like in C&C3

I would wish to see the C&C3's avatar secondary "commandeer" ability back with a new twist though. Maybe with decent arms and hands it should grab and steal enemy weapon systems to itself, not playing with its crayon pvc pipes and lol all day long. Make it menacing, not hilarious. Just a suggestion.

This photograph, more than the above i fell covers the Cyborg Commando better - a hulking monster capable of taking on scores of foes at once. This guy exudes badassery.

What do we get in C&C 4? A wooden reskin of the GDI Commando.

Not the greatest pic, he hasn't been seen in any of the publicly released screen shots yet. Only the gameplay trailers but very briefly.

can someone give me a link to this cyborg commando ye'all speak off

I can't. APOC would lock my beta key and I wouldn't be able to lay the beta anymore. Sonic's picture is as best as your going to get - and its really damned awful.

If I may ask, why?
