C&C 4 Unit Profile - Nod Flame Tank

Recommended Posts

it is just a name guys. Calm down.

I don't see this as an argument, it's just a discussion... As one that has designed games and given codenames to hundreds of objects and units, plus am quite experienced with mythological creatures, I have an opinion on this matter and I will state it.

That is your full right but dont overgo it :)

First we need to know why it is was called this way. Their should normally be a logic explanation

I like the flame tank, it has the basics that every flame tank has had in every Red Alert except Tiberian Sun.

While on the subject of the unit profiles. The next one will be the GDI Hunter.

Aint that that little Hover tank?

No... it's the APC with a tank turret. As opposed to the wolf with a tank chassis and anti-infantry turret.

(It's a pet peeve, and it's also way down on the list of most useful units to see for promotion purposes.)

Well you can't call it a generic anti tank tank, since its not really a tank! :P

to be honest...yours look much better.

Second that, but the chassis seems to look as big as a Mammoth.

This redesign is definitely better than the first one, although I think it could stand to be maybe 20% longer, and I still lol at the "Dear GDI, please shoot here" fuel tanks.

And once again Kane Nash whips up a design that I find much more appealing.

If Salamanders looked like Tanks, i'd be collecting them daily.

Apoc collects tanks?

You could say that about every version of Flame Tank from C&C all the way to C&C 4.

As for Kane Nash's concept, sorry I don't like. The new official design is much more appealing.

its basicly the concept of the tank destroyers. Units like these exist IRL. In the past, true tank destroyers where fast lightly armored tracked vehicles with a powerfull gun. Their tactic was high speed ambush and often fired at the flanks.

Yet now Wheeled designs has taken over the tracks. Examples are the French ERC 90 and AMX 10 and the italian B1 Centauro tank destroyer. The B1 Centauro has alot of simularites of the Hunter.

Gun armed tank destroyers has always remained the best. And this concept has replaced Missile armed tank destroyers mostly.

The reason is mainly because Gun armed tank destroyers can also support infantery(Hence their guns can also fire High Explosive and Schrapnel shells).

Hmm... well the things exist.

Learn something new everyday.

(BTW my pet peeve is not the name but the concept of the hunter and wolf with reverse chassis. But like everything in this game, it's all upside down...)

I never tried to deny it, although you can't say that for the Tiberian Sun flame tank.

The fire looks very limp-wristed. I don't like it :meh:
