C&C 4 Unit Profile - Nod Scorpion Tank

Recommended Posts

A new Command & Conquer 4 unit profile has been posted on the Official C&C Site. This one gives us a look at a the unique looking Nod Scorpion Tank. As always this profile features a short in game video, concept art and extra information.

The Scorpion Mk. II is equipped with state-of-the-art laser technology, derived from the previous generation’s Spitfire Capacitors. Using the power output of its Liquid Tiberium generator, the Scorpion wields a miniaturized Obelisk of Light, which, despite its smaller size, is fully capable of slicing through even Crawler armor. The weapon is not without tradeoffs however, as the Scorpion’s standard anti-tank cannon was dropped because of the immense power consumption of the Obelisk.

Another one of those Nod units i severly dislike. I will have fun smashing them with my GDI powerhouse though

It not always about looks and appearance. Its all about how useful it will be. And while the Scorpion Tank is certainly unique in it's appearance I think you will find it to be one the most useful Nod units, just as it was in C&C 3.

I think the "melee" attack is pretty nice.

Agreed, But I dislike the burrowing. It's supposed to navigate underground with the obelisk tower like that? I don't think so. :/

Well I read the first half of the article, and y'know, they didn't do half bad explaining its looks lol

I mean, sure, it looks ridiculous to us, but as I think about it, if I could see that tank in real life it would be pretty intimidating.

But, in the end, I still think it looks ridiculous :)

I don't like this scorpian tank. The concept art just makes it worse.

This is a Red Alert Universe unit design... pure and simple.

This.

It's pretty lightly armored, but a good player can do a lot with them. I'll take Kodiaks over Scorpions any day though :P

it's the ugliest unit in the game. seriously, it's worse than any unit in RA3!

I like the burrowing though, even though it could be improved upon.

I'll keep this short, the weight looks unbalanced, the segmented tail looks non-serious, the design does not look capable of subterranean movement.

Single-handedly offing both a mammoth and mastodon I think gives the wrong impression too, as far as the profile is concerned.

What should have been Nod's most iconic battlefield asset, proved to be just a cockroach for GDI to crush.

What should be Nod's most iconic battlefield asset, proves to be just as ugly as the rest of Nod's new arsenal.

(And I think I accidently stuck the wrong profile quote up there when I posted this, but seems to be fixed now  )

Well, I always wonder if it ever makes sense in the tiberium universe as this unit looks too comical and too "red alert 3" theme too it.

After reading that interesting article, I am sold by the idea and now it makes me feel that the scorpion tanks in C&C3 looks indeed like cockroaches. Lol.

Actually there was no quote, I added one in when I uploaded the concept art to the gallery ;)

Well, it's better to leave out a quote than put in the wrong one, I guess.

A scorpion shaped tank would be rather intimidating in real life. One thing that article was correct about was that C&C3 Scorpions were like cockroaches and they did not live up to their name either.
