Acerz492 1 Posted April 26, 2005 Leona: exactly. I hate people like that. Hehe, Cygnus, I wish I could join you in doing that, but my compter can't even handle myself and four brutal AIs at once before going into a real big slowdown. I gotta get my new computer up before I can do that. I would be one of the Yuri players Share this post Link to post
Leona 0 Posted April 26, 2005 Yuri sides also have a tendancy to slow down your computer if it has a low processing speed, drawing all the purple lines really took it out of my old machine before I updated it. Share this post Link to post
Doctor Destiny 41 Posted April 26, 2005 Don't go spout your pro-Yuri "nonsense" at the Den forums. They'll flame you to hell and back because they've convinced themselves that he is "too powerful." They're good, I'll agree but they're still whining n00bs when they complain about Yuri being "too good." You have to thnk outside the box to beat Yuri. If you confine yourself to conventional tactics, you're done. End of story. I do admit that Yuri can be rather difficult to beat when someone skilled is at the helm. You can do it but you must strike EARLY even in a "no rush" game. Don't give him a chance to gain the edge; that is how you defeat the Psychic Menace. <_< Share this post Link to post
GeneralZ 0 Posted April 26, 2005 i think i'm okay with it. i played skirmish and me as yuri and 7 other computer hard players all against me that werent yuri. I held them all off. I was on team 1, all of them was on team 2. I just built a grinder next to my wall of psyic towers and gattlings, and sent everysingle mindcontrolled unit at the grinder. they were sending like 10 rhiones at me....$$$$ in the grinder Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted April 26, 2005 I took out a skilled Yuri player once by rushing him with demo trucks (which his towers grabed) while he was fighting in another base, then I nuked him... Must nota been that skilled after all Then I had to stop online play for 1.5 years because of crappy comps and crappy phones, finally got new phones, but still have crappy comps. Noticed about 10 min ago that playing Yuri really does slow your comp down a lot more than the other sides. (Generals even plays faster! ) Share this post Link to post
DemonHunter 0 Posted April 29, 2005 hey, the reason poeple say no yuri is because if i am yuri then nobody can beat me lol Share this post Link to post
BWare 0 Posted April 29, 2005 hey, the reason poeple say no yuri is because if i am yuri then nobody can beat me lol Dude, willl you STOP ending every sentence in "lol?" It sounds really really really stupid. Plus, I don't think that every person who thinks yuri is unfair thinks so because you beat them. Share this post Link to post
Acerz492 1 Posted April 29, 2005 Nice one with the nukes Cygnus. Nukeing always achieves something, be it war, peace, or just wanting to kill off that Yuri player  I just came out of a match with Mina on YR, I was Yuri, she was American, but while I was waiting for her, I had at least 10 different people come in, say "Hi, no Yuri", then go off somewhere else. WHAT IS THE POINT IN THAT? Silly people. I'm just going to be Yuri in online matches from now on just to spite people. Or to actually play with people who know how to take advantages of his weaknesses. Share this post Link to post
GeneralZ 0 Posted April 29, 2005 I'd love to play u YR online Acerz...or Mina....is tonight ok? Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted April 29, 2005 I think its cool when a Yuri player wins because they id something other than capture a Soviet or Allied base. Skilled Yuri players are rare, all people are addmitting when they say "No Yuri" is that they cant handdle him. They're basically pointing out that you've already won, they're just to scarred to say it up front. But Yuri in the campaigns was ridiculous. Cool side, but the missions against him look like they were set up by a 2 year old.... Share this post Link to post
Acerz492 1 Posted April 30, 2005 Hahaha, not in the state I'm in. I've been up all night, and then i crashed on the couch halfway through posting on here. But when I've woken up, sure, just PM me when you want to have a go. I have to warn you though, I'm on dail-up, so it may be a bit crap for you, although when Mina and myself played, it was actually pretty good. So it may not be too bad. Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted April 30, 2005 When i get updated WOL library  Share this post Link to post
Acerz492 1 Posted May 1, 2005 Exactly why there should be skilled Yuri players out there. I'm not one yet, but once I'm able to get some experience online I'm pretty sure I'll become one. The mere fact that I have dail-up discourages people from versing me in the first place  But then they're the idiots who say 'No Yuri' Share this post Link to post
sonofabandit 0 Posted May 5, 2005 Yuri's not impossible to beat, but it can be hard. You really got to strategize. Because Yuri just has so many advantages. One thing that I can't figure out how to counter is how damn good exploers Brutes are. They can easily kill attack dogs and infantry. Flack tracks and IFVs will fall prey also if sent alone. And if you're playing a good opponent, he would allredy have alot of buildings captured and held by Brutes by the time you could build units to counter them. Even if you get to an oil derrick first, the brute can take it from you. Its tough. Share this post Link to post
Acerz492 1 Posted May 6, 2005 That strategie is one i sometimes use It really -REALLY- infuriates other people when they have a massive destructive menance taking out their power when seconds before it was a large squadron of infantry However a SEAL/Tanya/Boris I.F.V. (if you have both Soviet and Allied tech for the last combo) will take out those Brutes in about 30 seconds flat. Or you could just fill a BF with SEALs. Or, you can use Viruses. Snipers in a BF also make taking them out a breeze. Take it from me I've used those strategies and had them used against me. OH! Gattling weapons, Tesla weapons and Prism weapons are also very effective. There ya go. Share this post Link to post
GeneralZ 0 Posted May 6, 2005 in an online game with acerz and mina and me...it was a 2v2....acerz and me against mina and another player named Sonic. i was yuri, acerz was allies. i borrowed 2 of acerz's battlefortress (force mind control) and filled them up with viruses. they did lotta killing against mina, who had a whole line og deployed GIs, then acerz went in with the guardian GI BFs Share this post Link to post
Scorpio XIII 0 Posted May 7, 2005 in an online game with acerz and mina and me...it was a 2v2....acerz and me against mina and another player named Sonic. i was yuri, acerz was allies. i borrowed 2 of acerz's battlefortress (force mind control) and filled them up with viruses. they did lotta killing against mina, who had a whole line og deployed GIs, then acerz went in with the guardian GI BFs Gotta love force mind controlling, especally with an AI ally of a different country. Force mind control their CY w/Yuri Prime, build up and make a new MCV for you of that country, then release control by targeting sumtin else. And *babam!* you got more stuff to build   Share this post Link to post
Acerz492 1 Posted May 7, 2005 Of course, although it depends on the situation. Usually I stick the Tech Tree I chose before starting a game, but, say, I'm Yuri, and I would like a subsitute for the Mastermind, then grabbing a Battle Fortress from the Allied Tech Tree dosen't hurt one bit. Of course, build order can become cluttered. But nothing beats combining Yuri, Allied and Soviet Tech trees and making a massive defence force in the form of Tank Bunkers holding Prism Tanks, Gattling Tanks and Apocalypse Tanks Then again, stealing the enemy construction yard with Yuri Prime, moving it away from his base, forcing him to build another one (if he was smart enough to build a service depot) and then giving it back to him only to destroy it with a squadron of Harriers/Kirovs is a surefire way of stressing your enemy out to no end.  Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted May 9, 2005 Or using his own stuffs against him. can you say SLAVE RUSH?!! one of the silliest, funniest thing ever is to see a hundred slaves rush a base and take out about everything until a single Seal shows up and mows 'em al down. Share this post Link to post
Acerz492 1 Posted May 9, 2005 What's even more hilarious is when you actually destroy -everything- with slaves. I've just came out of a game, against a Yuri player, destroyed many, many slave miners, and gathered up the slaves...and CHARGE!!! What perplexes me though, was that he built all his Gattling Cannons in one place to fend off my Black Eagles, so of course I went around them, but he never did anything about me swarming his Conyard with at least 28 Black Eagles. Dumbass. I thought, 'Well, may as well teach this tard a lesson!' Went around his Gattling defence, and he says, "What are you going to do with those slaves? They can't do anything!" He soon found out, and quit just as I was about to destroy the last of his buildings. Sore looser. Can't even hack being destroyed by the most useless unit of all! No screenshot though, I was too busy pissing myself laughing. Next time I'll remember though! Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted May 9, 2005 One gat tank. ONE GAT TANK would have been all he needed to kill them all!! What a doof. Share this post Link to post
GeneralZ 0 Posted May 9, 2005 or a virus/initiate. the shovel they use to attack has no range. they have to go right up to their target Share this post Link to post
General Kane Nash 0 Posted August 17, 2005 Depending of the situation the best tank could be an Apoc(in one to one, except against mind control) or prism tank (in mass attack, that sux, but its allowed...) Share this post Link to post
