PurpleGaga27 40 Posted November 23, 2012 Firefox ESR version 10.0? Wow. What's the difference between a normal version of Firefox and the ESR (extended support release) version? Share this post Link to post
Doctor Destiny 41 Posted November 24, 2012 I don't get constant version upgrades. I get security updates though. I have 10.0.11. Share this post Link to post
TheProwe 0 Posted December 1, 2012 I have been on the Firefox ESR 10 channel since a few weeks it first came out and I'll slowly be moving unto the ESR 17 channel (multiple PCs).. Share this post Link to post
Guest Stevie_K Posted December 3, 2012 As a Chrome user, I find it amusing how much hizzle hazzle you guys can stir up about version numbering and updating. How many times did I notice Chrome updating or changing compatibility with any add-ons? ---> 0 I don't even know what version of Chrome I am running ^0^ inb4 hatemachines arrive. PurpleGaga27 40 Posted January 11, 2013 Due to unknown issues using the search bar and the Google search website in Firefox 17 which don't work (not sure if it's the plugins affected to this), I had to upgrade to Firefox 18, which is now released. I also found that similar issue in Firefox 15.0.1 but it was less problematic. Share this post Link to post
PurpleGaga27 40 Posted April 12, 2013 (edited) Updating from 18.0.2 to version 20 for the last time before heading to the ESR version of Firefox. Looks like the looks and features Firefox 20 felt like Firefox 5.0 by now (really). It's been over two years since Firefox 4.0 had been released. I also updated portable Google Chrome from version 22 to version 26 and it appears that version 28 is in development. Edited April 12, 2013 by zocom7 Share this post Link to post
Doctor Destiny 41 Posted April 13, 2013 Version 20? I'm on 17.0.5. ESR is awesome. Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted April 13, 2013 So after a few minor mishappens on my computer I have upgraded from 13.0 to 20! Aside from a few cosmetic changes, I'm not seeing much difference... Oh that and the close all tabs dialog is ****ed.. Well it was. Share this post Link to post
Plok 327 Posted April 13, 2013 Now I have a Download history button next to the Home button. That's handy, at least. Share this post Link to post
PurpleGaga27 40 Posted June 2, 2013 (edited) Mozilla decided to change something for the greater good, taking aim on what Google did to Chrome: http://techcrunch.com/2013/06/01/mozilla-readies-major-firefox-redesign-as-it-ponders-what-the-browser-of-the-future-should-look-like/ A major re-design for the upcoming Firefox 25 = possibly Firefox 5.0. From Firefox 4 to Firefox 24 = still the Firefox 4.0 series. Edited June 2, 2013 by zocom7 Share this post Link to post
Sonic 295 Posted August 18, 2013 So Firefox is up to version 23 or something now... who gives a **** really.... but I've only just noticed they have made some subtle changes to the Firefox icon in recent months.... http://blog.mozilla.org/creative/2013/06/27/a-new-firefox-logo-for-a-new-firefox-era/ Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted August 19, 2013 I noticed the change in logo, but didn't think anything of it.. Does that make sense? Share this post Link to post
PurpleGaga27 40 Posted August 19, 2013 (edited) The fox is less textured and the earth globe has no bright glossiness. Firefox 23.... I am on to Chrome 28. Edited August 19, 2013 by zocom7 Share this post Link to post
PurpleGaga27 40 Posted October 29, 2013 (edited) It's been about two months without a new Firefox update. Since version 4.0 to version 24.0, it's been 21 versions of the same old Firefox look. As of today, Firefox 25 is released! Well here's the thing, I now have four different versions of Firefox: Firefox 3.0.19 (the original install) Firefox 20 (portable version and the one my dad's using) Firefox 25 (new portable version) Firefox ESR 17.0.9 (portable version) Still I think Firefox 25 should have been the real Firefox 5.0 though. PurpleGaga27 40 Posted December 17, 2013 (edited) New versions of Firefox 26 and Firefox ESR 24.0.2 (a huge update from version 17) = no difference at all. I expected better speed and RAM performance but Chrome still beats out the speed while Firefox is more safer on its security and better RAM performance. The biggest RAM pain on a browser is playing Plants vs Zombies Adventures under Chrome 31; definitely needs more than 1 GB of RAM to use, and it's no wonder why the FPS is lagging despite using a 1 MBbits DSL. Doctor Destiny 41 Posted December 29, 2013 What's Firefox up to now anyway? 27 or 28? My cool ESR releases are keeping me behind. xD Share this post Link to post
PurpleGaga27 40 Posted March 15, 2014 (edited) Looks like Mozilla is throwing in the towel not to update their browser with a Metro UI feeling (just because most Firefox users hate the Win8 idea): http://www.zdnet.com/mozilla-abandons-development-of-metro-firefox-for-windows-8-7000027346/ I could have expected a new look of Firefox with a Windows 7 feel, rather than a similar look to Chrome. Doctor Destiny 41 Posted May 10, 2014 FireChrome... ChromeFox... it's all the same. Not a fan of it since I use things that can't be accessed with that crappy interface. Share this post Link to post
Sonic 295 Posted May 11, 2014 You mean, they copied Chrome. That's what I thought when I first saw it after the update. A Chrome like appearance. Share this post Link to post
