Recommended Posts

So here's the latest project from Petroglyph, a new base building RTS called Grey Goo. Certainly looks interesting....

Hmmm. Looks like an alternate version of UAW meets Starcraft. Will check it out.

And I'll bet the music for this game will still be composed by Frank Klepacki.

Edit: Someone said in another C&C forum that the graphics look like a mix of RA3 and SCII.

Hi everyone! I've been a registered member for awhile now, back when I was a community manager at Petroglyph. Just recently moved over to the publisher on this project as the community manager. I noticed your post and wanted to introduce myself!

Hi Berek, nice to meet you.

I hope we can have discussions about RTS development.

If I can grasp more of the game I could give suggestions, but not interested in being part of a beta phase. Not for the next 6 months, at least.

Hi Chimas! What are you doing these 6 months that could possibly be so important! :)

Well news of any RTS deserves my interest... let's see who the ideas execute as the game develops.

It looks more likely to "Bug's Life", than serious RTS title... but does RTS have to be serious? :)

Nah, the less serious the better in my view :).

Long as the game itself is solid, who gives a ****?

Music samples have arrived! https://soundcloud.com/greygoogame

"The music of Grey Goo has been a fun project to work on, as it combines very different pieces between the three races. The Beta are strong warriors with equally strong music that's amplified in battle scenes. The Human music has a more sophisticated feeling to it that is reflective of their higher technology and renewed quest for exploring the galaxy. While the Goo have yet to be revealed, I am including leading music for them as well.

I hope you enjoy the differences in strength and tone that each race exhibits through these pieces. Enjoy!"

- Frank Klepacki, Audio Director

OMG, Frank Klepacki music is back! ^_^

Edit: New music samples I heard sound similar to Dune music.

I really enjoyed seeing the Goo faction and seeing how the faction can bring brand new gameplay possibilities to a genre where one might have thought to have seen everything there is to see.

At first it appears to be a daring idea to have such a versatile and alternative faction but it is by all means very interesting. This actually threw me onto the hype train.

I am very confident in this title.

Hey guys! We're running another t-shirt giveaway for our forum posters:

http://www.greybox.com/greygoo/en/forum/topic/266/

Unfortunately, we still have to keep it within the United States and Canada, but I'm hoping this helps reach some more of you that were interested in the previous giveaway:

Let me know if you have any questions!

I mean no offense here, but you do realise the internet is a global thing these days, if you plan to promote your game internationally why must such contests be limited to the USA and Canada. I know you'll probably say that its due some legal issues to do with certain countries or something but isn't high time such restrictions be done away with? Its just a shirt, can you not send a shirt to someone in Europe, New Zealand or Australia?

We are just a fan site and we have sent promotional prizes to people all over the world with out any problems at all. Why can't the gaming studios and publishers do it?
