PurpleGaga27 40 Posted April 23, 2014 (edited) Although a bit too early for this, with 50 days left until the starting worldwide competition of football (aka soccer), who will win the 2014 FIFA World Cup? Since Brazil hosts it, I say they will win this one... hopefully. Brazil will also host the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio soon. I might suppose Chimas/Solo and Banshee will support their country too to win it all. Edited April 23, 2014 by zocom7 Share this post Link to post
Chimas 7 Posted April 24, 2014 As a "host" of the event, I hope everything turns out fine and everybody be welcome. The brazilian team is expected to provide a good game play, I'm a fan of this coach, but he tends to "close" the team and more than often the game gets ugly. I'm not sure if BR will win the World Cup, but I expect the winner to be creative and an emotional team, soccer has been boring last years and something must change. Nothing better than a World Cup to have some news. In my hometown Porto Alegre, I'll watch many games in the stadium, including Aussies x Dutches. If anyone comes this way, just send a PM about city details. Share this post Link to post
Plok 327 Posted April 24, 2014 (edited) I'm both thrilled and scared when remembering the fact that we're opening the Cup with Brazil. They've always been very strong, and we'll have to play without Mandžukić for the opener for a stupidly earned suspension We've only faced Mexico once, in the 2002 WC in Korea & Japan, and that didn't go all too well because of a penalty kick. But again, we have a better team now than we did back then. Cameroon... I think we can walk through that one. For the winners, though, I'd go with Brazil, Spain or Argentina. Inferno 22 Posted April 26, 2014 I'll probably watch a few games, but there's next to no chance the Netherlands is ever going to win. So, yeah... Share this post Link to post
PurpleGaga27 40 Posted June 12, 2014 (edited) On the first game today, it's Brazil vs Croatia. How do you start the 2014 FIFA World Cup with........ Brazil kicking their own field goal. That's an instant "ESPN's Not Top 10" play of the week. Edit: Brazil won the opener 3-1 against Croatia. Edited June 12, 2014 by zocom7 Share this post Link to post
Plok 327 Posted June 12, 2014 The referee was an idiot. That penalty was not justified in any way. Share this post Link to post
Plok 327 Posted June 13, 2014 (edited) Get used to it. Our next match will be played at midnight our time on the 18th. Edited June 13, 2014 by Plokite_Wolf Share this post Link to post
Guest Stevie_K Posted June 14, 2014 I'll probably watch a few games, but there's next to no chance the Netherlands is ever going to win. So, yeah... If they just wooped Spain's *** there is a pretty good chance they will come far. Share this post Link to post
Gben 20 Posted June 14, 2014 Watched the aussie match this morning at 8am, but most of the games are 2am or 5am. I'm not anywhere near interested to get up at those time and watch us lose. Apparently we're playing Netherlands in Hockey tonight and tomorrow. Funny - both men and women at the Hockey World Cup being from the same countries. 5-1 over Spain... look out Australia. Inferno 22 Posted June 14, 2014 Well, I can't say I stayed sober during that match. Share this post Link to post
PurpleGaga27 40 Posted June 14, 2014 (edited) That 5-1 Netherlands win over Spain was humiliating..... so much for a rematch and the Dutch got their revenge. Edited June 14, 2014 by zocom7 Share this post Link to post
Chimas 7 Posted June 15, 2014 Goin' out now to watch France x Honduras in the looser's Stadium (never mind, just a local rivalry). Gonna sing the anthems with La-la-las. Hope we get a good match to watch. PS: BRA x CRO - the referee made a mistake, but it would be very difficult for anyone to be sure about that lance. The thing is, in a normal situation, anyone would point out the opposite as a referee, assigning no penalty at all, if under doubt. That's the weird thing about the fact. But Croatia has a good team, focused and cold blooded. That's important feature in these times of few spaces in the field. Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted June 16, 2014 Must be pretty neat to go to one of the games. Share this post Link to post
Inferno 22 Posted June 16, 2014 Must be pretty neat to go to one of the games. Not if that game was Iran - Nigeria... Share this post Link to post

Doctor Destiny 41 Posted June 17, 2014 Soccer is a strange sport anyway. Who wants to watch people kick a ball around? Seriously. xD Share this post Link to post

Chimas 7 Posted June 19, 2014 (edited) Hi,This video about my hometown made by FIFA is accurate, including sky and sunset. Yet, a simple place. Here, there is the outstanding photo gallery of Aussies and Dutches invasion. A place to be, we will never forget this visit: A path from downtown to the stadium called "Caminho do Gol" Links: video - gallery - http://www.clicrbs.com.br/sites/swf/galeria_fotos/index.html?id=41818 Van Persie's twitter Edited June 19, 2014 by Chimas Share this post Link to post
