It also shows just how the internet has changed our world, here we have parents who threaten their kids by selling their Christmas presents on eBay when in the past it would have been a simple "I'll lock them in the cupboard and you won't get them" or something like that.

 

Serves the kids right though, if they are being little ****s at Christmas time this is the best sort of punishment, teachs them a lesson in the process.

Far from it. Political Correctness is out of control. The only way the world's population and governments is going to control modern day society is if we all accept the fact that we will have to revert back to the values and punishments of our fathers.

 

The reason why the world and it's behaviours are becoming the way they are is because of the abolishment of such effective punishments. Some people can get out of jail in 4 years for doing the most savage crimes, such as cold blooded murder and child abuse... they see it as a small price to pay.

 

What a load of crap that is. Small price? Capital punishment back please, lets see these guys die for brutal crimes, not a slapped wrist and a telling off... Keeping dangerous people locked up and away from society for a few years is not the answer to the problems of crime. It is not justice!

C&C King, I can not tell you how refreshing it is to hear that point of view . I couldn't agree more. I would say that it's out of control in the states (a woman was just let off on a technicallity after drowning her three kids :shock:), but seems to be even more so in Europe. It's great to hear a sane voice from across the pond! The fact is that this is an imperfect world, we are all sinners, and there's pretty much nothing we can do about it. What may seem barbaric to some is really the only effective way to deter sociopathic behavior. It sucks, but it is absolutely necessary. Murderers and rapists simply can not be tolerated in society. "Political correctness" is a lofty pipedream with roots in the demented 60's that is slowly destroying our civilization. Make no mistake about it... it is that serious.

i agree with you...we need to hang the guilty..not the inocent. Killing is a horible thing. But what do you fear worse...dying or a life in prison. Either continue to kill, or make a life sentence live up to its name.

By not executing murderers you are only sentencing innocent men & women to their deaths, you can learn from your mistakes in prison, yes, but there can be no reprehension for those who take the lives of others, for a life is the most precious gift you are given, & those who would chose to break it are criminally insane & deserve to be broken in return.
