Forget that I'd just go to holiday to switzerland for 6 years until the war was over... nice neutral country without the fear of being blown to bits... and I could do some skiing :D

Germany, no doubt. If i would have been Hitler's closest advisor the war would have turned out completely different.

I would probably fight for the Soviets, seeing as how they were decimated in the first war, and are being wiped out in the second war. But first, I would Kill Stalin.

Well, hes right. Germany would have surrendered to the US after a Nuclear strike. And the russians would have hated the Germans even more.

You really have to go allies if your thinking about what each army was fighting for. But if you just look at the military strength its a different story maybe. Germany was the best all around. Japan's navy was monstrous. I don't really know anything about Italy. Russia had a bad economy and faced huge threats all the time by their nazineighbors. U.S. war machine seemed built for amphibious assaults alone because they couldn't land rush anyone.

One thing i dont understand is why Japan attacked pearl harbor, i have heard so many different things like

1. Japan felt they were about to be attacked by America since FDR moved ships to hawaii

2. Japan wanted U.S. trade back, or sumthin like that.

3. Japan was just pure evil

4. something about their expansionism needing to be preserved

among others, the text book just says Hideki Tojo (funny name) ordered the navy to attack......so whats goin on???

yeah... another instance of God's providence in history. But that's another point for another time

But yeah, the reason Japan attacked was because the US cut off their oil supply. That's pretty much it... well, and they were pure evil...

Actually i was thinking that there could have been a DIPLOMATIC solution that would have ended the war shortly after the fall of France. Imagine this: France falls quickly (no surprise there) and Britain is drawn into the fray by the support pact they had with Poland/France... BUT Hitler calls for a cease fire and for a meeting with Great Britain - asking that a neutral Russia sit at the table on Germanys side.

Of course Britain would have the U.S. on their side of the table. And here's what could happen- Hitler offers to return the majority of France and all of the other nations to their rightful governments with the conditions that the German majority populated regions be released back to the old German Empire.

If nothing else came from the negotiations Germany would have a chance to give their troops temporary rest, continue to build up materials, continue to train soldiers, and gain much needed intel in case the diplomatic solution failed.

I don't think it would fail because with Hitler coming forward and offering peace through diplomacy, Britain couldn't exactly shoot it down without taking a hit on their standings in the eyes of the world. Plus, the American people at that time didn't want anything to do with the war so our Pres would have to push for a diplomatic solution also.

And Russia would be diffused as a potential hostile against Germany because they would be right there getting their portions of Poland and Finland back, etc....

himelf. Kane has his own goals in mind....if u work with him early on, u'll become one of the top leaders... :D:D:D

otherwise.....Deutschland...but i would brainwash Hitler into not driving away some of germany's best scientists and people just because they;re minorities.......(cough...einstein...cough) If the germans hadn't been agaisnt minorities, they might have actually won. many of the allied scientist were german and italian refugees......

sure, but Hitler's machine ran on hatred. They needed a target, otherwise they couldn't have built that incredible momentum. It wouldn't have worked unless they persecuted the "minorities."

Hitler's state of mind was not ever focussed upon diplomacy. He wanted the whole of europe in his hands.... His downfall was to attack Russia in the end and gain more land that way. Since Hitler actually had quite a soft spot for Britain and it's culture he felt it was a shame to destroy it....

Had he carried on attacking England, he would have broken through. But our air supperiority, coupled with the best fighter pilots in the world at the time made sure that wasn't going to happen.. And since the British had the greatest tank enhancements in the world due to the British Invention of the tank in World War 1 and the British invention of Radar... Hitler would never of had an easy ride.

:omg: :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Contrary to that, despite the British having created the tank, they were behind in tank development compared to the Germans. The germans had better tanks. For example. the Sherman, the mostly widely used tank by the Brits and Americans in WWII, couldn't penetrate tiger tank armour and point blank range!!!! The tiger, on the other hand, could penetrate the Sherman form far away. And the sherman burned easily.. Cause after WWI, the British kinda brought tank innovation to a halt. It was the germans who advanced tanks because they remembered its effectiveness on German troops during WWI.

True, the radar was the key part of defending Britain cause it alerted them of German attacks. But if the war went on, Germany would have won if americans hadn't joined in. The FW-190, new jet planes, and TA-something planes would have shot down the hurricanes and spitfires with ease. They lost because Americans joined in, and there were too many shermans to 1 german tank...they were massively outnubered thats why they lost. Any allied tank of WWII would have lost a 1on1 encounter with a German tank.

absolutely GeneralZ. The Allies won with a tank rush :D

but yeah, the Germans were far ahead technology-wise. If it weren't for the combined forces of America, Britain, and the other Allies, Hitler would have succeeded.

Okay, first of all: the ridiculous penalties heaped upon the German nation at the end of WWI by the Treaty of Versailles (however that is spelled) was more than enough to get the German nationalists involved in Hitler's rebuilding. Hitler offered hope to the masses - hope of getting out from under the debt that their great great grandchildren would have still been paying if something wastn't done. The hatred was the virus within the program if you know what i mean- there were over 1 million German soldiers fought in WW2, not half of them were actual Nazi's, and the SS units were the ones filled to the rim with hater-aid.

Next: when Germany invaded Russia it was because Hitler feared for the precious oil supplies that he had recently taken over in... Bulgaria i think, which were within bomber range from the nearest Russian controlled land. If those oil fields burned it would be the end for Germany. And if he was going to invade any part of Russia he knew he would have to cut the head off of the snake immediately... problem was weather, terrain, and supply problems ran against him in the end.

Plus his tanks ran up against some of the heaviest armor of the time - the Russian T-34 tanks for the first time. Stalin had been preparing for the possibility of his own invasion, studying the German armor, etc.

But the soft spot he had for England was true. And the involvement - at first indirectly and then directly with the British war effort made one helluva difference. If not for us then it would have been different.

The Japanes attacked us because we cut off the supply of oil and steel that they had been using in their war effort in Asia. It was our attempt to put diplomatic pressure on them to pull out of China, etc... the Japanese felt that they were going to have to face the U.S. and without the supplies they would need to shut us down quickly. Needless to say THEY FKD UP.
