I'm not just being mean to you. I am saying, as a general rule, if you define yourself as a "pansexual," then you are a freak. I'm not following a mob mentality either: I am an independent, clear thinking person who recognizes that sexual deviance is not only socially destructive and disgusting, but is just plain evil. I have plenty of tolerance for different views/opinions than mine, but there is a line, and "pansexuality" (I'm giving it FAR too much credit by using that word) definitely crosses it :roll:

fine. so it's evil. but it's my choice in life, no need to slag me off and be mean because of it. last time i checked "freak" in that terminology was an insult, thus being mean. sure you have your own opinions about my life choices but for the sake of common courtesy can you please keep any negative views to yourself? : and why is it so bad and evil? i'm not trying to destroy society... totally the opposite, i hate society. i avoid it avidly because of this (hate in the sense of fear being ridiculed by people like you)

good luck with the new pope (as previously stated) and may he reign supremely for the last of his years o.o real question is: what are they going to do when this one fades away? (obviously pick a new one - but who? i'm guessing the current is just a delay to give the vatican more time to pick a long living pope... not saying that in an offensive way, just stating suspision based on something the news said)

Good we are back to the topic and no more hand bags at 5 paces fight. I thought we were having a realy good disscusion untill then.

 

As a few of us have been saying the election of pope Benerdict XVI was the best for the Catholic church as at the moment the church need someone who can hold the fort for a few years and make sure the church continues the work that the late pope john paul II dedecated his life too especilay when other churches are bowing down to the liberals and the PC brigade.

one question i do have: wasn't there someone of a simliar country-born origin as him, maybe younger? i mean is he even gonna last a couple of years? n.n; would have thought having that much responsibility would be one heck of a burdan... and for someone that old? surely it would be better to pick someone along the lines of 50 or 60 oO;

As for the Pope's age, your right that we don't usually have a Pope elected at such an age, apparently he's the third oldest in history, however its even more unusual to elect popes younger then 60, the average age is round about 67-72, its generally an experience issue.

 

And yes, perhaps they elected him because they only want a short term Pope, but to be honest we cannot know whether he is or not because no cardinal who voted would dare say he was elected as a transitionary Pope, besides, it would seem kind of mean...

 

Still though, it is said that for some reason the Cardinals always elect someone who is the exact opposite from the last Pope in some feature, this time its clearly the age as Pope John Paul II was elected when he was 56/58, it could easily be so that they could retain a bit of variety in views (within the Conservative section of course).

why not tell him? even if it's only a transitional, he gets to be the pope lol. i mean come on, it may not be real but it's still the higest honour i'd be flattered i got picked, fake or not fake o.o

Simply put, because he's the Pope, the spiritual leader of 1.1 billion people, he deserves the upmost respect from all of us Catholics.

 

Even if he IS transitional his election cannot certainly be tagged as 'fake', only that this particular Pope, in comparision to all other Popes is not going to particularly stand out.

Indifferent - I couldn't care less what 1.1 billion of the world's population believe, just as long as they don't try to force it on to me. But in anycase, let's just hope he's as good as his predeccesor. It'll probably be tough, considering what John Paul II achieved. But like everyone here, I was surprised by his age as well. I'm content to just sit back and watch.

The Pope is a symbol to the world of the mass coverage of Christianity, a glory it will never achieve again.

 

Like an ever growing number of the world's population I have no particular religon. I do however see religon as a good thing, there is evidence of religon helping many people through problems, it can keep people occupied, & even possibly change people. Religon is still nescessary for today's world to function smoothly, & although it does cause some problems in more devout areas it doesn't really matter what people believe in the end. Everyone is entitled to an oppinion.

 

So good look & a long & healthy life to the new Pope.
