Games are overpriced and the consumers are unfairly overpaying for video games...

http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/overpriced

Ok..I guess everyone wants to pay $50 for video games..$60 for the next gen ones..

What do you get in the end? You can buy a new $50 game and open it..play it for 2 minutes..take it to a gamestore and they'll offer you $15 for it? That absurd..Someone has got to share the same view as I do here...

bump bump bump..

come on people..i need more than 2 signatures..

Sign it and send it to your friends..with enough signatures the FTC might actually look into this..

Its even worse in Europe with a lot of countries.

In my country, the currency before the euro was the gilder, it was about 0.45 euro's worth.

Back then a game costs 50 gilders, about 20-25 euros.

As soon as the euro was in use they simply change the currency sign, from 50 gilders to 50 euro's or more....its outrageos...no wonder ppl crack and download games...

hahaha, the power of the euro compels you!!!!!!! i always shop around for the lowest priced, most of the time i just buy on-line. I agree with the second hand thing though. i got one up on them though, i bought a second hand copy of MK: Deception for £9.99 and sold it back to a different shop for £12.99 . not jmuch but the warm sense of self satisfaction was enuff for me.

Don't copy my style f00. :P

If it really is that, get a job or deal with what you have. People have to make money off new game sales; you can't expect new games to be sold for $20. The distributor, manufacturer, developing company and the staff have to earn their share of profits from sales.

No petition will ever change this. Besides, who would want to listen to some whiny teenager gamers anyway?

One Word people and it's proven a great money saver for me:

eBay

OK you may not get it instantly like you do in the shops, but when you can buy a legitimate copy, still sealed and for possibly over half the retail price. What would you rather do?

aristaios, this is one of the most idiotic things I've ever seen... no one cares about internet petitions. They are a complete joke. Plus, GOOD VIDEO GAMES COST MONEY TO PRODUCE. You can go buy games that are a couple years old for under 10 bucks, but if you want to buy the new or next gen ones, then you are going to have to pay for them. It really is that simple. Quit whining . Go get a job if it's really that important to you. Ugh.

You could just wait until that game becomes unpopular. Just in a couple of months it will drop in price, shop and compare. Everything costs money. Even music albums/CD's are having this same issue. I know people who burn games and music illegally ... and it wrong. There will always be a way around doing this stuff. Though Music I don't understand since I can record the music off any station playing it over the air, and some say this is wrong. Your going to have to deal with getting some kind of job and buying the game's you want. Much like cars, phones, food, etc. That's just life dude.

The Uk is thw worst for prices as games can cost upto 40-45 pounds which is 80-90 dollars so I feel no sympathy with you having to pay $50 or $60.

What if someone was really dedicated and did this for llike a month. They could turn some real money off it. Plus the game places would probably lose some money.

Hmm... I feel that you shouldn't complain you can't afford games beacuse you haven't got a job. That is just lazy.
