Let's take it from a non-religious bystander: There is no point for fighting for a God or Gods that do not exist, and only exist because people have been blinded by their faith. There is no 'right' religion. That's why to me it's a bunch of dog's bollocks. Because basically all this fighting is mainly over which religion was there first. You know the facts so I'm not going to go into them.

 

I think the whole thing should just -stop-.

Second, Atheism doesn't help any better then religion either, why? well as luk3us pointed out, it's not religion that causes these problems, it's man's diversity, atheism is included in our diversity.

 

So what's the solution? well, modifying our beliefs, converting or becoming athiest, is not the answer, rather what we need is the acceptance of our diversity, we need people to have less judgement on differing beliefs and strangely enough, alot of christians don't seem to know that you're not supposed to pass judgement on other people's beliefs, that's God's job.

Exactly! I was kinda getting at that. I hate it because it's because people can't accept the fact that there is diversity throughout mankind in terms of religion, as well as everything else. It's basically a war of "We are right and you are not, therefore you must die!", coupled with the fact that they are trying to push each other out of the area. That's why I (and most likely, every single other person who has a brain and can think for themselves) am so annoyed at the whole situation. We need more people than can accept what other people believe in and people who won't look down on other religions because it's something different.

Tell me about it. :roll: It's just as bad here. We have a bloody cult that's trying to take control of our country. Unfourtunatly, thanks to alot of stupid sheep over here (the human kind ), Brain Tamaki (the so called "pastor " and self-appointed bishop of the Destiny Church) may just succeed. And I'm sure on that day New Zealand as it is now will cease to exist. I may be all for acceptance, but I can't accept a total hypocrasy of all that christianity stands for trying to run our country.

Not really. People will be people, no matter (almost) what religion they are part of. So drop it. If they want to belive differently then you, let them. Because from your point of view, you are right, they are wrong, and eventually, thats gona smack them in the face. (Message to warring religions)

If some one wants to believe differently, thats fine. There is no single religion on the entire planet that is "right" BY saying we are right and you are wrong, that religion compounds itself in among the utmost form of ignorance. No one is all right. Every religion may have a piece or two, but none of htem have the whole, complete thing right. So for them to tell others that they are wrong is simply idiotic. They (others) may be wrong, but does that make you absolutely right ?? Deffinetly not.

Yesterday 3 people came up to me asking about Catholic beliefs, casue they wanted to join the church :? :?

 

But damn, they knew their scripture. Kept quoting and quoting. I told them the Bible is not a literal trranslation of what we belive. Their main focus seemed to be abotu getting into Heaven. They kep asking how to get in, and hwat to do, and what not to do.

 

I eventually told them to talk to the priests in the rectory about joining and to ask him about what we believe, cause I defiinelty wasnt the best person to ask.

In the end I told them to see the priests. I knew I didnt have a chance at them when they didnt understand the part about not breaking the law. Government law. I told them if you stay on the right side of the Government law, you'll be fine.

 

But what is the right side of the government law ?? How do we know whats wrong ?? What if we dont know its wrong ??
