I believe the proper term is theist.

Which means...?

Refering from some random location

Theism is the belief in one or more gods or goddesses. More specifically, it may also mean the belief in God, a god, or gods, who is/are actively involved in maintaining the Universe. This secondary meaning is shown in context to other beliefs concerning the divine below.

Worshipping Egyptian gods, now this is an itneresting thing  So, you're one of those people who still worship gods like Ra, Osiris, Isis, Bast, Seth, etc. There are hundreds of them in Egyptian mythology. Pretty interesting, I love egyptian mythology and culture, but I don't worship their gods.

Hypnotist, did you never do Religious Studies at school? This would be where you explore every religion in some detail, that would of given the best ideal into what would suit you best.

'the one that suits you best' is not a proper way to pick a religion.

I meant that in terms of research if you are unsure of which religion to follow if someone so chooses. I didn't mean in in a frame of mine as to say "yeah, that religion looks good, I'll go for that one.

It's suprising that some people can go all their lives before pursuing a faith... It's also suprising that some people think that you have to choose a religion the moment you understand what it is...

But saying that a lot of people who are religious are thrust and forced into their beliefs by the family they are brought up in... a shame really, we should all choose our own way of living.

Yes, we should. If it's one thing I hate, it's when people look down upon you because you -choose- to be an athiest and not believe in a God or any gods.

It's a friggin' choice! Not a life service!!

R.E. (religious education for all you not in the know) has been a part of my life ever since I started school.

Am I affected by it? Not really. It's actually unfair in that, during high school, we had to work harder because R.E. was being taught when we could've been learning more important things, that would actually -help- us when we got out of school.

There should be a class teaching people how to play CnC games...

No I didn't actually...

Why would you want to learn about religion for in the first place?

I dunno. It wasn't my choice. If you go to a catholic school it's cumpulsary to learn R.E.

Not that it made much difference.  Only time I ever payed attention was whenever the fundamentalist crackpot of a teacher said something completely untrue ("Dinosaurs never ever existed!" was one of the many shining moments of school life last year..)..

Unless you've actually gone to a Catholic School you haven't got a bloody clue.

In my school for instance we had the exact opposite of fundamentalism, we had idiots in our R.E. class believing in reincarnation but still called themselves Catholic. Oh and our Relgion teacher wasn't a priest.

Some teachers though were priests, quite a few in the science subjects, and they did NOT ignorantly dismiss facts.

Guess what y'all. Luk3us, you better start runnning......

BWare is back !! He may not have posted yet, but.....:twisted::twisted: prepare for the read of your life (and it mught take that long too)

R.E.-While you may or may not like religious education, there is opne main thing in it that public schools dont teach. Morality. I cant even begin to talk abotu how soo many public school kids and people (teachers included) are total assfarts becasue they never learned right from wrong. Its astonishing when you think about it.

@ Luk3us and CO.-No slamming Catholic priests for their "misaddventures" its scarcely .01% of all preiests that have certain issues, so taking one or two highlighted incidents and using them s a stereotype for Cathloci priests is wrong, I dont care what religion you arent part of, it is wrong.

most private schools dont teach common sense either. parents are too soft on their kids these days. too liable to get sued.
