Saracen 16 Posted September 2, 2005 Kids don't deserve the rights of a full adult... they know how to abuse the system and that's dangerous... Words are more powerful than any actions.... Actions mean nothing in todays world.. Share this post Link to post
Guest Rabbit Posted September 3, 2005 I can agree with that, I shouldn't be drinking right now at 14, and I shouldn't have the priveledge to do what hard working adults do... Share this post Link to post
Mighty BOB! 5 Posted September 3, 2005 So folks, talk about your religious beliefs here "Spirituality unites mankind, religion divides it." - that dude in Flight of the Phoenix (& I'm sure it comes from somewhere else) Share this post Link to post
Acerz492 1 Posted September 3, 2005 Oh yes, that quote! It's so true! Yet it took 21 pages for that to come up.. It's definately one of the most intelligent things I've heard in a good while. Share this post Link to post
Waraddict 0 Posted September 3, 2005 most private schools dont teach common sense either. parents are too soft on their kids these days. too liable to get sued. We were taught morality in our Religion class, but the problem still remains that some students just don't listen. I would agree with the parents thing, slapping laws are an example but I wouldn't say I wouldn't be for them, rather Im hilighting, where do you draw the line? Back on the relgion topic, I am beginning to discover a serious flaw with debating religion, the problem is Athiesm doesn't understand religion as its such a foreign concept, Athiesm for example doesn't understand religion's concept of God, God is the creator of the Universe and for some reason they believe his existence can only be proved in his creation, which is sort of right, the Universe itself is evidence but I think Athiests are looking for a signature under a rock somewhere... Im not saying people don't have a right to believe in anything they like, rather that the perception between Believer and Athiest is too radically different to make a proper debate. What may be more interesting is to debate why can't we accept human diversity? Take for example believers who go out of their way to judge every last aspect of another relgious member's life, or an Athiests attempt to 'convert' someone to athiesm by distorting facts about religion. chickendippers 1 Posted September 3, 2005 Listen to this (at least the 1st 5 minutes) http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbc7/listenagain/monday/rams/2230.ram It's only gonna be 'till Monday so listen fast! It's a comedy show, so it's a good listen! Anyway, it's a radio program called "The Mark Steel Solution" in which he comes up with solutions to all sorts of problems, this episode's discription is: Religion: Mark has an ideal solution to solving the lack of understanding between religions. And I believe what he proposes is actually a very good idea, and his arguments back it up. Share this post Link to post

Cygnus X-1 12 Posted September 9, 2005 well anyways, back on to theism or lack of discussion..... Ive noticed lately that kids are dumber. Theres no escaping hte fact. They are stupider. Teachers have to go slower in class, newer teachers dont know shiit about anything, and so on. Our nations's (plural) are getting dumber as a whole ?? What the **** is going on here ?! Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted September 9, 2005 Of course it is. I mean you have a President who can't even read a speech right off a telepromter... I mean come on, pretty poor role model. Share this post Link to post
Doctor Destiny 41 Posted September 9, 2005 There aren't a great deal of role models left in today's society. You could probably count them on one hand. And that's sad. Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted September 9, 2005 notice how I said our nations's (plural) as in allthe nations. Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted September 10, 2005 Thats cause you're been on the net too long.. It seems everyone is retarded when it comes to the net for some reason.. Share this post Link to post
Guest Rabbit Posted September 10, 2005 Yeah... now let me go get some nachos... Back on topic though (so this doesn't get locked...) Do you think religion has anything to do with kids becoming more stupid? Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted September 10, 2005 Religion restricts people to much... Well some restrictions might be "good". But yea. Share this post Link to post
sniperelite7 0 Posted September 10, 2005 No religion does not make someone dumber. What I think makes a child dumber is that they pay more attention to the pop stars then in school, they worry about getting another joint then worrying about reality. They belive they need to be the coolest hippist kid in school, not worrying about life. Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted September 10, 2005 and since most schools cant even teach religion......kids do get dumber. Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted September 11, 2005 They go to Church then get dumber... But yeah I semi agree with sniperelite7... Semi.. Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted September 11, 2005 church doesnt help either. most ministers cant preach very well, and dont have any expression in their sermons, or they talk abotu stupid stuff. The church needs to have a Vatican 3 or somehting. They are really doing a bad job of reaching out to younger people these days. Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted September 11, 2005 That would be a good thing as far as I'm concerned... Share this post Link to post
Doctor Destiny 41 Posted September 11, 2005 Religion is a vice for the weak and stupid. It's for people who can't think for themselves. It's merely a tool for controlling people. It really has no practical application these days. Share this post Link to post
