Favorite General and why?

I was quite done, and I agree on Zero Hour. Though an expansion was due, by cashing in on Iraw, they did indeed sell out.

 

It makes me sad and I'll agree with you leang, and leave it at that. :lol:

Imagine how the media would be if the Detention Centre was left in. I can see the headlines, 'Abu Gharib simulator outrage', 'Generals is Doomed'. They would have had a field day, Christmas time.

Bah, everything's to PC these days. They shoulda left the Detention Centre in just to spite people's critism. At least they'll have a sense of humour if they wrote in the manual: "We were going to remove it, but due to the fact that people were complaining about it being something outrageous, we left it in just to piss 'em off. Have a nice day!"

 

Something along those lines anyway... :lol:

As fantastic as the beating, i mean detention, centre was, what purpose did it serve other than map reveal? seriously, who in gods name would pay for that!!!!

When I look at what they replaced the detention center with, it really seems kinda logical in most respects. Taking prinsoners ws never really going to be a valid thing and the way in which the USA only have a single base defense that did everything (*cough* YR Gattling Cannon *cough*) really sucked. Without the fireb ase, the USA just had one more vulnerable building to blow up.

 

Though to annoy critics, leaving it in with some sort of extra abilities would have been a great laugh.

could you actually put anyone into the detention centre? It would be goo if u cud, and then have upgrades like 'Titanium riot Batons' or some other non-pc stuff.

You couldnt actually put anything inside the detention center, it just granted the spysat ability (representing the people providing some sort of plans to the map apparently, or access codes or some other gubbins.)

 

The only thing I could have seen as a unit potentially arising out of the detention center is something that'd counter the angry mods in a more effective way than flash bang grenades, toxin tractors or dragon tanks.

There were plans to be able to capture prisoners, but it was dropped. Act of War has the detention centre though and allows you to capture prisoners who generate funds. Maybe they pass off the videos with Private England as pornography. :twisted:

Suppose, but still, it was a pointless building. I think it should have granted the ability to build the Prison trucks and then develop that unit into a more usefull one.

The Modding community picked up on your sentiment and used it to their advanatge and made it in some mods though.

 

I played as the infantry general and I have to say, I am beginning to debelop a liking for them. While having the most powerful infantry in the game, I find their style to be something similar to the Stealth General but in a more diverse and versatile way. I love it :D

Cygnus - try writing a post that goes into double figures, it might do you some good.

 

the detention center ould not be a seller because it'd show a defiance by EALA that they support the way that the USA locked up the Terror suspects which would inturn lose the game Kudos. this would be a major loss of profit, and would mean no more C&C, in the most extreme circumstances.

Acerz, the boss generals mod doesnt count because its designed to be what would happen iof the trhee factions got the best of everything, you are so fail :P

I have locked very few threads.

 

there are a selcte few that I went in and told Sonic or King or Mod to lock it, but Spaming isnt a large part of it at all.

 

If you'll look around, most locked threads can be attributed to Madbadger

Madbadger is horrenouds for his spamming, I know King and Sonic have noticed it and he is the reason I think they introudced the new 'no spamming rule'. I made a slight inference in my post really. Try and extend the posts a little so that if you do post sopmething, we have scope to keep going. that way the bosses can't get you for topic killing.

 

Now, I tried a variant of the Infantry General on Project Raptor mod and was almost made to fall off my chair on how they'd managed to create something of amazing character and versatiliy.

Mods like this are worth noting (PR, Shockwave, Boss Generals etc etc) because they take the game to the next level in my eyes. They've refined generals tactics and by playing the mods, I've realised a whole new tactical level for the Generals of ZH.

 

Did anyone ever play the Demo Juhziz Generals Challenge?

I have to confess to always setting my skirmishes at the maximum potential $$$ so that I don't have to worry about resource collecting and focus on gameplay.

I think we can safely assume that everyone does that because when you play against the AI...well, it's too predictable, and rather annoying when you're trying to manage resources whislt trying new things against an AI that's so predictable you could rush him with a couple of basic tanks and be done with him, but you wanna try new things so you can make the game more appealing..lol.

Well, if you want the full benefit of the AI of any good mod then you'll have to give them a pile of cash or be left waiting for unit after unit after unit to get built which really, ain't any fun.
