Your jobs!

Recommended Posts

Just wanna know what you guys do for a living (except for those that are still in school...). It's ok if it's just part - time Let me start. Though I still live with my parents, they already pay me to help my dad do his job faster, like holding the video cam for him, cleaning his images for the Asianwave magazine... I also did a job for my uncle, finished some of his pictures for the IDs of a school...

I now run the Frozen foods department in a supermarket.. It's better than the General Merchandise Department I used to run, much smaller, easier to control staff..

I'm actually saving to do a course which will give me A+ and Network+ qualifications so I can do some sort of computer networking job, after a couple of years I can then go for a course that will entitle me to become a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)... that's a while away yet though..

Hmm.....studying ofcourse, but sometimes I make applications and enter some competitions (that's if I win, lol, luckily there is not much people who are good in comp in my city) to gain extra money to buy things. I want to get the Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) title too when I have graduated from the university, but the price for test is just ridicolously expensive. But I heard you can pass the test easily since 50% of the questions are always the same from time to time, I dunno.

I'm a network admin at a local middle school. Its amazing what 14 year olds think they can do to a network. And what they think I can't see. And then when I catch some kid looking at pr0n, he's always like "But Mr. Goodyear, I was just doing a Google search and I 'accidentally' clicked on it. *sob*" Then, I write him up.

Whiny little kids they are.

Just a hint, clearing internet history on a school's networked computer flags your account. 8)

You can right click, heck you can even change settings, but its only for your account. You can do anything at a computer as long as it does not physically damage the computer. If you screw up your account, its screwed up for the rest of the year. At least that's what I'd like for it to be. But by Georgia law, I'm required to give students some computer privileges. So I just reset the accounts and revoke lots of privileges. I can reduce the hard drive quota, I can even reduce the number of allowed keystrokes per second, minute, or hour. Fantastic stuff Novell is, fantastic.

Instead of regular Windows accounts like most schools have, we use VMWare to create little virtual computers. It's an abstract concept, but its awesome for maintaining accounts.

Well, there's my little spiel on my job.

Well as some people know I work full-time at a Wendy's fast food joint. Not very exciting, I'm sure. However, I finished school with reasonable grades, and I'm still waiting on my official acceptance letter from the Royal New Zealand Airforce (RNZAF, so you guys know what I'm talking about later on without having to ask me :P). I'm planning on being a Communications and Information Systems Operator (CISO), basically computer, radio and other communications work. Very exciting stuff!
