Saracen 16 Posted April 23, 2006 TD to TS was an extreme change. This game, like any C&C is a blank canvas that only needs to follow certain facts and rules of it's predocessors. As long as this game stays true to the Tiberian Saga and gives a majority of what the community want... I don't mind what direction EA take with the units/structures etc. The whole storyline was written years ago and is kept in a place safer than a bank vault. EA will stick to this storyline since it was a written rule and always will be until we come to the unfortunate conclusion of this Saga. But that's another 2-3 games after this one  Share this post Link to post
F15pilotX 4 Posted April 23, 2006 Bah, who needs a navy. Besides there wasn't a "real" navy in TD or TS. No point breaking tradition. remember, the TS series is supposed to link with the RA series at some point  and RA+RA2 both had navies Share this post Link to post

EA will stick to this storyline since it was a written rule and always will be until we come to the unfortunate conclusion of this Saga. But that's another 2-3 games after this one  Are you... serious king? That is very, very interesting. I would very much like to see this prewritten story I really didn't know that this was SUCH a planned story. I knew that they at least had a general idea, and I heard of plans for a trilogy, but this is really interesting. If it's true that EA is sticking to this story, then God bless them. rEdaSbLood 1 Posted April 24, 2006 if they published a book on the whole tiberium story...i want it if they didnt...they should id buy it without hesitation Share this post Link to post
BWare 0 Posted April 24, 2006 I'd buy one to read, one to keep by my bed, one for the car, and one to wear around my neck for quick access. Maybe a couple for friends... worthy friends. Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted April 24, 2006 Like me. Damn you King, you're killing me. EA being smart...Apparently they hoodwinked us all. Although there was the mention of the "second" (first, no doubt) RTS team in there.....grr. We'll see what happens. King seems to be very smug and satisfied with whats going on, so i suppose its safe for all of us to as well....I think. 8) Share this post Link to post
Saracen 16 Posted April 24, 2006 Are you... serious king? That is very, very interesting. I would very much like to see this prewritten story I really didn't know that this was SUCH a planned story. I knew that they at least had a general idea, and I heard of plans for a trilogy, but this is really interesting. If it's true that EA is sticking to this story, then God bless them. Well, quite simply, before TS was created, Westwood realised that the story was about to get very complicated, so after numerous discussions, meetings etc. Louis Castle, Joe Bostic, and Brett Sperry came up with a solid storyline that would be carried out over 5 or 6 games. And so the story was put to work. Nowadays EA own this archive, they also hold employment of Louis Castle who is President of creative development. When I say this game is in good hands, the buck only starts with Louis, he is only monitoring this game for inconsistencies. It's the team that's working on this game, that puts this game in safe hands. Share this post Link to post
TheBlackOut 7 Posted April 24, 2006 A Tiberian Sega book... Interesting, it actually ain't a half bad idea. (Once the saga is done, they could do it to fill us in on things they might of let out or just re-explain some stuff in a bit more detail) Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted April 24, 2006 Hey, lets save the hardcover book (with autographs) for the Tiberian Collectors box. 8) And if they dont ever make one....they will. I hope. King is apparently very satisfied with who ever is in there working on the game (Cabal?) so... I wonder what they are thinking over at Petroglyph. That would make an interesting interview (coughcough) Share this post Link to post
rEdaSbLood 1 Posted April 25, 2006 well it would be cool if i was the first to think of a tiberian saga in book form....but i doubt it... if it happens...and noone can find any previous records of anyone else thinking of it...i better get some credit Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted April 25, 2006 Too late. Thats been hoped for for years. But you are the first to bring it back 8) ( after a few months) Share this post Link to post
gammyleg 0 Posted April 25, 2006 itd be quite difficult making us happy with a book on the storyline. they certainly couldnt write it as a regular piece of fiction. i believe that the medium is certainly the games.an accompanying handbook pointing out all the key facts and things we may have missed would be better than a striaght out storybook. maybe written in the context of a history book? ExcessiveForces=GW= 0 Posted April 25, 2006 nah wouldnt be hard at all...look at the game halo, its got a 3 novel set with everything the game was based upon...oh yueah the 3rd games gonna be intersting for you halo fans, heee Share this post Link to post
Mighty BOB! 5 Posted April 25, 2006 Heck they can just release all 10,000 pages of development documents & I'd be happy. Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted April 25, 2006 So how, I don't think that will happen. But a book would be kinda cool. It could fill in the bits between the games. Share this post Link to post
-NickoheaD- 0 Posted April 25, 2006 It's the team that's working on this game, that puts this game in safe hands. But what makes 'this team' any different to those that created Generals? I'm not criticizing them or anything, I'm just curious. Is C&C3 in better hands than Generals was? Again, I'm curious. Share this post Link to post

Gazdude 0 Posted April 26, 2006 I dunno, maybe there will be a 3rd house Share this post Link to post
rEdaSbLood 1 Posted April 26, 2006 they basically said there WILL be...and i really hope they do them well Share this post Link to post
Gazdude 0 Posted April 26, 2006 Well then i dont think we have anything to worry about. More houses means extended gameplay and more fun online.. Share this post Link to post
rEdaSbLood 1 Posted April 26, 2006 well too many houses i think dilutes the game...so 3 is the best Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted April 26, 2006 Not necassarily, if its done right. But two single houses seem to be boring. Unless there are sub houses, kinda like what they did in Emporer, something simliar to that could work in TT, or whatever they decide to call it eventually. Share this post Link to post
