I use Winamp for music and WMP for video.

I literally have Winamp open at all times and it never causes any problems for me... even on my ancient Compaq, it was good.

WMP for everything nowadays, it does the job for everything I need, and it's been more stable than anything else I previously used. So I'm happy with it.

iTunes was great, until it started getting bloated >_<

Musicmatch Jukebox 10. Sure its one of those crappy things that comes preinstalled on most machines, and people promptly remove it, but I like it, specially the equaliser and such, its much better than WMP...

When your comp comes with a 7.1 surround High Definition Sound card and software to do some serious damage with. You only use WMP to support the play of the material, the kick ass sound system does the rest

Winamp cause all I want for a media player is a simple set of buttons and a playlist. I don't need all the extra stuff or features.

Winamp is the best media player I have found for music.

For videos I use VLC/Media Player Classic, their a lot less bloated than WMP.

**** iTunes, **** Quicktime, **** iPods, **** everything Apple makes because it all sucks.
Quoted For Truth!!

Winamp is the best, it's really easy to use and customisable. And the playlist thing is really easy to use.

When ever I close Itunes my CPU usage jumps up to 75%, and it doesn't manage the library nearly as well as winamp. I used to have songs that have no file attached to them, even though right under it was the song pointing to the same file. If you change the file names it can get messy. I have a program called "iTunes Library Updater" thats free and solves this.

Oh and the reason I have iTunes, I have a 80 gig Ipod that I bought because my car has a direct link to the ipod where i can control it from my head unit.

Same here. And MPC supports Real and Quicktime formats so I don't have to install the ****ware that is RealPlayer or the bloatware that is Quicktime.

VLC is a media player that is both lightweight, and feature packed.
