Perhaps your right. To me $38 per year is rather affordable, I don't see it as strain on the finances. And I don't know the criteria for a "premium domain", maybe its the age of it? We've had this one since the year 2000. All I know is 11 months out of the year I forget about the domain name and in late May/early June it auto-renews.

Error 1935 - Trying to Install C&C3 on Windows 8.1
Sonic replied to Martin Arnold's topic in Tiberium Wars / Kane's Wrath
What you have described sound similar to this post http://forum.alliances.commandandconquer.com/showthread.php?tid=41279 I'm assuming that's your post there For your installation problem, I would attempt to run the C&C 3 set up program as an administrator. -
The domain is registered with http://www.networksolutions.com/ and that's what they charge. I would move to cheaper options but since I technically don't own the domain, (an old and trusted friend does) I don't have the appropriate account permission to remove the transfer lock to do so. Only the primary domain name holder can do it and I haven't been able to get contact with him for awhile now. I only have access to renew and of course change DNS information. I guess the other question is why do Network Solutions charge so damn much and remain competitive.

Throwback Thursday is back this week after skipping last week while we made a server move. Today we are going back to the development days of Red Alert 2 from 2000. Taking a look at some the rejected box art concepts that Westwood went through before settling on what we all see today. Each concept featured the traditional soldiers head, except for for one that used the Tesla Trooper. A series of them used a female soldier so that's some interesting stuff there. Also worth mentioning, they all used the first Red Alert 2 logo that got changed in the final design to match the logo for the original Red Alert. Check back again next Thursday for another Throwback. Send in your ideas for future instalments. We encourage you to share this on social media using the hash tags #CnCTBT and #CNCNZTBT.

Generals Gentlemen Zero Hour Tip of the Week: Focusing Workers in Scaffolds
Sonic posted a topic in Command & Conquer News
This video was originally posted just before before we went off-line while we made a our server move. So playing catch up here. This is the latest Zero Hour Tip of the Week from Generals Gentlemen. In this video you can learn how best to focus workers inside of scaffolds. If you missed the first Zero Hour of the Week, Box Selecting Transports, you will find it right here. -
I only recall him as Count Dooku in one the ****ty Star Wars prequels. Don't think I've seen him in other movies. If I have I probably didn't notice who it was. Still he was 93, that's a full life I'd say.

Don't like the sport so I don't care about all the FIFA corruption stuff.

Well its winter in this part of the world, but that doesn't mean you can't start your off summer with a latest stable release of OpenRA. The big feature of this release is of course the long-awaited in-game map editor. For the first time ever, OpenRA offers a map editing ability for all all mods, on all supported operating systems. The new map editor offers the following benefits and features: Fully cross-platform, just like the game itself. Finally, a map editor for OS X! Truly WYSIWYG. It uses the game renderer, so there are no more rendering glitches. Support for all mods. The legacy editor did not support Dune 2000 properly, and Tiberian Sun not at all. Other minor additions include: The Dune 2000 mod has gained building upgrades, and now matches the original game’s tech tree. A total of six single-player missions have been added to the Tiberian Dawn mod. Enjoy! The “Team health colors” option now provides a better distinction between your own and allied units. Support powers can now be activated using configurable hotkeys. A “quick placement” mode has been added which will automatically pick up a completed building for placement when the player selects the corresponding production tab. Full details about this release can be found here. Visit the OpenRA site for the download.

For the record, he doesn't really use "The Rock" any more in his movies. He is only The Rock when he appears on WWE programming. For everything else he is Dwayne Johnson. And as much as I like him as an actor and enjoy his movies, I'm not really interested in seeing this one.

A team of creative people decided to make a real life version Grand Theft Auto V. Rather impressive.... Now watch the making of it....

You may have gotten used to it but I found it to be very frustrating to the point where I ignored the site most of the time because of it.

Yes its good to have things back up and running again. Hopefully all the speed issues are a thing of the past and I can finally move on to (or start) projects that have been in limbo for awhile now. Does anyone else notice how much faster things are already. Of course, geographically speaking, I'm very close to the server so its very quick for me. I should also mention that there is no Throwback Thursday feature for this week.

An interesting new feature has been posted at W3D Hub. Its a real blast from the past, as we can now take a look back at some the early builds and never seen before videos of Red Alert 2: Apocalypse Rising. The video above is from the very early development days of Red Alert 2: Apocalypse Rising. Click here to see many more videos and see how this game has taken shape over the years.

Here we go with another edition of Throwback Thursday. This week we are looking back one the most unusual looking and way over powered units from Red Alert 3: Uprising in 2009, the almighty Giga-Fortress. It can be said that all of the new units introduced in Uprising were way so over powered but that was ok because since Uprising had no multiplayer modes so it was never case of worrying about the balance of the game. I always felt the Empire of the Rising Sun's Giga-Fortress was one the most unique units added to the game. Starting off as simple floating battle platform, the Giga-Fortress has the ability to transform into a giant flying head. Perhaps they were inspired by Michael Bay for this one. Anyway, once the Giga-Fortress begins flying around as a menacing giant head, it uses the "God's Breath" weapon to destroy all enemies that stand in it's path. And yes the weapon literately spews from it's mouth! The Giga-Fortress was definitely uniquely cool! Check back again next Thursday for another Throwback. Send in your ideas for future instalments. We encourage you to share this on social media using the hash tags #CnCTBT and #CNCNZTBT.

It's early June and another Thursday is here, so that means it's Throwback Thursday time. We are looking back at the final evolution of the CommandStick 2.0 interface in Red Alert 3: Ultimate Edition from 2009 for this edition. The CommandStick interface first appeared in Kane’s Wrath on Xbox 360, designed to bridge the gap between the PC and console gamers. Because as we all know, controlling an RTS game on a console can be somewhat clunky and slow. During the development of Kane’s Wrath on Xbox 360, EALA spent extra time trying to improve this aspect, hence the arrival of CommandStick 2.0. By the time we got to Red Alert 3 on Xbox 360 it actually worked really well and sped things up. A year later CommandStick 2.0 saw it's final evolution, and the last Command & Conquer console game, with Red Alert 3: Ultimate Edition for the PlayStation 3. It wasn't really that different to the Xbox 360 version of Red Alert 3, but it translated to the PlayStation 3 seamlessly. Despite these improvements, RTS games are still best played on a PC with the mouse and keyboard. Check back again next Thursday for another Throwback. Send in your ideas for future instalments. We encourage you to share this on social media using the hash tags #CnCTBT and #CNCNZTBT.

Last week we posted some news showing off how great the GDI Titan looked stomping around in Renegade X. Now the source code and assets are now available for download from the Renegade X forums. Using the Renegade X SDK you can add the Titan to the game yourself. Its incredibly easy to get awesome stuff like Mechs in Renegade X, and you don't even have to be a programming wizard to do it! Click here for more information and the download link. The Renegade X team have said they will probably include the Titan in the next patch for Open Beta 4. So the people who aren't as technically minded at modding will be able to have some fun with it.

I would assume so yes. However you can reserve your download now, let it download and install it when your ready. You can also opt out at any time between now on the 29th of July. Nothing has been done just yet. Since the loading speed issue is random you're just catching it a good time. We will make an announcement when things will happen because there will probably be some down time for the forums.
