What's the point of archiving the earlier patch versions when the latest patch for each game includes the earlier patches anyway. I just included the patch history for reference sake. Oops, fixed the link. Has been noted on the page now.

For a while now, hifi has been working on a special launcher to enable higher resolutions in the original Red Alert. It is still in the experimental stages, but it's a start. Here's a sample screen shot of Red Alert running at 1280 x 1024. You can also check out this gameplay video of Red Alert running in high resolution and widescreen. Video courtesy of Tore from the C&C Communications Center. Updates on this project can found right here on our forums. If you would like to download this launcher for Red Alert, click here.

In preparation of the a June release, a new playtest version of OpenRA has been made available for download. The focus of this playtest has been improving the low-level engine code, but there have been a few nice player-facing improvements.... Fixed the shellmap issues that were present in the previous playtest. Added a “Battlefield News” indicator, so we can keep you up to date on with the latest community news. Further improvements to the lobby and replay interfaces. Significant reductions in load time. More balance improvements! More bug fixes! Visit the OpenRA site for the download.

Haven't been able to complete many games of Renegade X lately. Its just constantly crashing. It either crashes to the desktop, freezes or it crashes with a blue screen error. I hope the Renegade X team are working on this. This probably explains the drop in player numbers in recent weeks. People are staying away because of the crashing.

Just a couple of days ago, EA issued a status update about the closure of the GameSpy multiplayer servers for many of their games. These servers are closing at the end of June. Apparently EA are currently exploring all possible options to continue multiplayer services for many popular games, Command & Conquer included. The full list of games impacted by the change can be seen on the EA Online Services Updates page.

One of favourite pieces of music. When I heard this live at the beginning Metallica's concert in Auckland back in October 2010 it gave me chills, still does to this day every time I hear either version. Watch (well listen to) Metallica - Ecstasy Of Gold..... The original Ecstasy Of Gold by Ennio Morricone (1966)

Loading Steam online winds up getting a "blue screen of death"

Get a better, modern router. Mine has full inbound/outbound firewall protection. And I only use Microsoft Security Essentials on my computers. The Windows firewall is enabled as well. MSE updates only what it needs in the background. And it doesn't sink it teeth into the operating system like NIS. -

Loading Steam online winds up getting a "blue screen of death"
Sonic replied to PurpleGaga27's topic in Tech Discussion & Support
Do yourself a favour by removing both ZoneAlarm 8 Firewall and Norton Internet Security 2012, both are rubbish and there is no need to run two programs doing the same thing. Especially something as **** as Norton. With these programs gone Steam will probably work better.
