  1. Hello, I tried to edit the following files by replacing the first allied mission with my map and by adding a 10th mission. Unfortunately the game always starts the original mission and does not show a 10th mission. Does anyone have an idea how I could implement this? Edited XML Files: - MapMetaData (line 1247) - CampaignTemplates (line 43) - EngagingContent (line 432, 351) In the attachment you can find my test setup. Thanks in advance for your help spmap.zip
  2. The developers of Red Alert 3 "Corona Mod", which have recently released 2 Development Talks, have now released a third one as well. These Development Talks are animated by the mod author and go further in depth on development updates, detailing audiovisual, design and balance changes and explaining the reasoning behind them. The mod Corona Mod adds a full new faction, named the "Celestial Empire" based on China and the Mongol Empire. Additionally, it reworks the original three RA3 factions and adds a new Tech Tier (Tier 4), as well as research/upgrades. Keep an eye on their YouTube channel for more!
  3. The developers of the infamous Red Alert 3 "Corona Mod", which comes from the Chinese modding Community, have recently released 2 Development Talks, where they go in depth about development of their mod, as well as changes to the base RA3 game they've made. The mod adds a new faction, the "Celestial Empire" based on China. Additionally, it reworks the original 3 RA3 factions and adds a new Tech Tier (Tier 4), as well as research/upgrades. You can watch their Development Talks below. Development Talk 1: Development Talk 2: Additionally, here are two tracks that will be available in the mod: - Celestial March - Jasmine Flower Keep an eye on their YouTube channel for more!
  4. Since I like archiving old C&C stuff, and Valentine's is getting closer, here are all the links to the RA3 Uprising Valentine's promo videos from 2009. Wonder how these never got mentioned on the site... Brenda Snow: Dasha Fedorovich: Eva McKenna: Commander Hill: Lydia Winters: Takara Sato: Note to moderators: Don't even attempt to embed these. I've learned posts have a 5 video limit the hard way.
  5. Command & Conquer Red Alert 3! I really like this game. Do I like it as much as the older entries? Probably not. I do love the coop campaign, though, and I like the distinctions between the three factions. Anyway, let's get on to the actual game. We start with the first Soviet mission, in which we defend the Leningrad Fortress - not that it needs much defending; it pretty has unlimited hit points anyway. Soviets Mission 1: The Shrike and the Thorn
  6. Recently, two actors who have left their mark on the Command & Conquer universe have passed away: Gene Dynarski and Dimitri Diatchenko. Gene Dynarski is most familiar to us for his portrayal of Joseph Stalin in the original Red Alert. According to The Hollywood Reporter, he died on 27 February 2020 at the age of 86 in a rehabilitation center in Los Angeles. Dimitri Diatchenko, known in the community for his role of Oleg Vodnik in Red Alert 3, was found dead at the age of 52 in his home in Daytona Beach, after his coworkers had not head from him in several days, according to CNN. They will be missed, and our condolences go to their families and friends.
  7. As a New Year's gift, @Lauren (a.k.a. Darth Jane) published an entirely new tool called the Assimilator. The way it works is that it loads any .skudef of a late SAGE game (Tiberium Wars, Kane's Wrath, Red Alert 3, Uprising, or Tiberian Twilight), and then it lists all the W3D animations contained in that game. You can then select any animation, and in the right part of the window, you'll see the XML output of that animation. This way, you won't have to resort to custom art packs to get the animations you need. The tool can be downloaded right here on CNCNZ.com (relevant download pages have been updated). Note that you require Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8.1, or Windows 10 build 1607 or newer with .NET Core 3.x installed.
  8. As of today, Command & Conquer titles that were released on the Xbox 360 back in the 2007-2009 period are officially available for the Xbox One as part of their backwards compatibility program. You can buy these titles from the following links, or just insert your Xbox 360 disc into your Xbox One console: Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath (currently only the Map Pack is purchasable) Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 (with Decimation Map Pack) Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 - Commander's Challenge I have inquired with Xbox Support on why C&C 3: Kane's Wrath is not listed as a separate purchase like the others are, and it seems it is still under review with no real ETA on when it will be publicly available, just to keep an eye on updates in the rest of the week. Stay tuned for more info.
  9. On 28 October 2008, North Americans witnessed the release of Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 on the PC. It was probably the most heavily advertised C&C title, which had a lot of attention for its star-filled cast, and the fact that it was the first Red Alert game since 2001's Yuri's Revenge. It was also arguably the most polarizing title in the series, as heated debates on its tone still go on to this day and the shift to node-based resources has left some fans cold, but it is still played online both competitively and in the co-op campaign mode. Definitely the most dynamic of the C&C titles, there is never a dull moment with all the unique unit designs and their abilities. GameReplays.org held anniversary tournaments in Red Alert 3 these past three weekends, and today's final round went on for so long that the grand finals will be played next Saturday, so keep an eye out for that!
  10. Attention, all Red Alert 3 fans! Since the game's 10th anniversary will be coming on 28 October, GameReplays and C&C:Online will be celebrating with an entire series of events! In the three weekends leading up to the anniversary, there will be one tournament each. The first two tournaments (on the 14th and on the 20th) will have prize pools of $100 each, while the final one (on the 28th) will have a prize pool of $130. All matches will be played on the community patch 1.12.6 to ensure minimal issues with bugs and bad map tiles. For more information, head on over to GameReplays and sign up!
  11. Hello, me and a friend of mine are kind related to 3d print things and we really like the Red Alert series, so we where looking for ways to print 3d models from Red Alert 3. We follow the steps from this post and successfully extracted the game 3d models, but we couldn't find a program to convert the W3X files to stl, obj or kind of. If there's someone who can help us we would be grateful. P.S. i'm not a native English speaker, sorry if i wrote something wrong.
  12. This week in our Throwback Thursday feature, we feature the chopper with a license to chill - the Allied Cryocopter from Red Alert 3. True to the game's unorthodox unit design, the Cryocopter lacked conventional weapons, but was equipped with an emitter that could either freeze targets so they were immobilized and easier to destroy, or fire the S.H.R.I.N.K. beam which, as the name implied, shrunk target units to a size susceptible to crushing (and caused their voiceovers to sound as if the pilots inhaled helium). Remember, you can click on the preview to see a larger and more detailed image. Don't forget to check out the Throwback Thursdays archives if you've missed a week. Check back again next Thursday for another Throwback. Send in your ideas for future instalments. We also encourage you to share this on social media using the hash tags #ThrowbackThursday, #CnCTBT and #CNCNZTBT.
  13. This week in our Throwback Thursday feature, we continue our Ladies of C&C subseries - this time with Commander Zhana Agonskaya, who was played by Vanessa Branch. Zhana was the Soviet Air Force general in the singleplayer campaign and one of the skirmish/multiplayer AI personalities. As such, she preferes to send aircraft instead of ground and sea units in battle. While casual in tone like the other Soviet commanders, she treated her adversaries with a minimum of respect.
  14. PATCH v1.12.6 by Chris880 Here at CNCNZ.com, we value community contributions, particularly those which improve existing games. Thus, we support unofficial patches by the community. The Red Alert 3 1.12.6 patch was made and tested by Chris880 with the help of GameReplays' Red Alert 3 staff. This patch was made mainly in order to fix bugs and improve performance of the game. It is distributed in the form of map packs that have the changes (seen below) applied, and run on top of the regular 1.12 version to enable quick switching back and forth without having to leave the game. In CNCNZ.com game nights, this will be the selected patch for multiplayer (unless mods are used). An important warning: these maps do not transfer in the multiplayer lobby, meaning that all players need to download and install the map packs manually. Below are the links to the latest build, as well as the full changelog. Download link Original thread Installation instructions The map packs installed through the installer, to the Red Alert 3 directory. To uninstall them, simply delete that folder. v1.12.6 changelog Fixed a bug where the Wave-Force Tower displays Defender-VX debris when destroyed on water. Fixed Empire and Allied Tech lights. (Credits to the Chinese modding community) Fixed a bug where frozen tanks can still crush infantry when they get too close. Fixed a bug where Tesla Coils do not fire at all sometimes. Fixed a bug where Bears could kill burrowed Tankbusters. Fixed a bug where Terror Drones sometimes do not damage infected units. Fixed a graphical bug where Defense Bureaus do not display proper debris when destroyed over water. Fixed a graphical bug where Flak Cannons, Defender-VX, and Wave-Force Towers rotate their turrets before finishing unpacking. Fixed a bug where Terror Drones disable the Athena Cannon's shield. Fixed a bug where Multigunner Turrets, Sentry Gun, Wave-Force Towers, Spectrum Towers, and Defender-VX can still fire while being sold. Fixed a bug where units were unable to attack certain wall segments, unless you destroy the segment next to it. Fixed a graphical bug where the Soviet Airfield displays its yellow light animations before finishing unpacking. Fixed a bug where MiG, Striker-VX, and IFV AA missiles do not damage an Assault Destroyer using a Black Hole Armor. Fixed a bug where Outposts provide build radius before finishing unpacking (Special thanks to PDZ of the Chinese modding community) Fixed Oil Derrick and Dry Dock animations. (Credits to TX1138) Fixed Empire EVA when capturing Oil Derricks and Observation Posts. (Credits to TX1138) Fixed Soviet Tesla Trooper's behavior when charging Tesla Coils. Fixed a bug where infected Nanocores can still unpack. Fixed a bug where Terror Drones disable the Assault Destroyer's Black Hole Armor. Fixed a bug where IFV missiles do not damage Tengus/VX or any aircraft that are landing on the ground. Fixed a bug where units that are stunned by a Terror Drone, paralyzed by a Rocket Angel, or affected by an EMP missile, can still crush units when they get too close. Fixed a bug where shrunk MCVs can crush other units. (Banned exploit) Fixed double shrink bug. (This means that if you shrink a unit with the normal shrink ray, and then you get the High Technology upgrade, you will be able to shrink a unit that is already under the effect of the normal shrink ray, however it will have no effect. This only has to happen once.) Fixed a bug where the Guardian Tanks' target painters can stack their effect. (From now on, the target painter that is pointed first will take effect, and the second painter is nullified.) Fixed a bug where Assault Destroyers do not absorb Tanya's fire. Applied a fix that will prevent Subs and ships from getting stuck on shores on Infinity Isle. (This bug seems to occur most frequently on this map, hence this map was the first chosen to have this fix.) Fixed a graphical bug where the Cryocopter's shrink ray can make units visually bright. Fixed a bug where Tanya's and Natasha's weapons do not damage the Assault Destroyer when they are absorbed. (The damage dealt is minimal.) Fixed a bug where the Assault Destroyer's Black Hole Armor can absorb the Proton Collider's fire. v1.12.5 changelog v1.12.4 changelog v1.12.6 graphical changes Removed a good number of particles from the Soviet, Allied, and Empire Power Plant destruction. Removed fire/smoke trails that were attached to the debris of the Power Plants, including the Super Reactor as well. Removed the explosion effect for the Soviet and Allied War Factories (changed back to their usual smoke effect) Removed the big flame effects displayed on Super Reactors when critically damaged (restored to original effects) Removed mushroom explosion for Empire Power Plant (replaced with a standard flame effect) Removed large flame/smoke effects displayed on Allied Construction Yards in red health (restored back to original effects) Removed the green light from Imperial Construction Yards. Removed the big flame effect that was displayed on the Vindicator's and the Soviet Apocalypse Tank's debris. Removed the giant water ring effect caused by the Assault Destroyer's depth charge. Fixed MIRV effect for the Soviet V4 rocket. (The missile no longer displays a very saturated mushroom cloud, and the heroic effect no longer gets mixed with the original) Fixed Heroic Tsunami Tank's effects. (No longer displays a mixed effect between blue and orange, now heroic ones display just orange effects for their shells.) Fixed Heroic Vindicator's bomb effect. (No longer displays original effect + heroic effect at the same time) Fixed Allied Power Plant unpack animation. Fixed Iron Curtain specular map. Fixed Allied Refinery unpack animation. (No longer displays the water platform when unpacking on land.) Fixed Allied Barracks specular map. Fixed a slight visual bug where the Cryocopter's cryo beam flickers. Flame effects displayed on units/structures in red health state reduced back to their original size. Psionic Decimator given a light effect. Tankbusters given a light effect for their lasers. Peacekeepers with Riot Shields now display blood when attacked from the side or back. Super Reactor given a water splash effect when destroyed over water. All building animations will stop playing once the corresponding building is hit by an EMP missile. Heroic Stingrays given a new effect. Allied Blackout Missile given a target decal. (Purely visual, the original effect radius remains unchanged.) Minor changes such as changes in particle count, size and color saturation in small effects, sounds, and changes that are too small to list here. The following changes are inspired by TX1138's Revolution mod, hence he deserves the credit for these effects: Twinblades given a firing effect when launching rockets. Proton Collider given a light effect. Dreadnoughts now display a smoke effect when they sacrifice launchers. Heroic Flak Troopers given a recolored weapon effect. Allied Blackout Missile given a new effect. V4 launchers given a smoke effect when launching a missile. Allied Harvester and Riptide ACV given a water animation effect over water. Improved Vacuum Imploder effects. Natasha's bomber given an explosion effect upon detonating its projectile. Soviet Battle Lab given smoke effect animations. Super Reactor and Vacuum Imploder given a big scorch mark upon exploding. Hammer Tank, Guardian Tank, and Assault Destroyer given heroic effects for their weapons.
  15. The pick for this week's installment of Music Monday is the credits theme from Red Alert 3 by Timothy Michael Wynn, an apt-sounding blend of traditional music and heavy guitar riffs. A new track will be posted next Monday. And as always, don’t forget to share this on social media using the hashtags #CnCMusicMonday and #MusicMonday. Also be sure to follow our new C&C Radio feature on the main site for more C&C music!
  16. In today's Throwback Thursday, we feature an Easter egg from Red Alert 3 - the replica of the EA Los Angeles building in Red Alert 3, more specifically the sixth Imperial mission "Rage of the Black Tortoise". It appears near the player's base, with the following tooltip: "The space-time continuum could be irreparably damaged should this studio come to harm".
  17. The unofficial 1.12.6 patch for Red Alert 3 has been released. It includes 29 new bugfixes, including the fix for one banned exploit, raising the total bugfix count to 64. Many prior graphical additions were reverted and new, more practical changes have been made. The patch comes in the form of skirmish/multiplayer map packs which can not be properly transferred online (so each player must download them from the original source individually), which will become ranked on the C&C:Online server. Note that only the English version is supported at this time. For more information and the download link, click here. UPDATE (2017/10/05): A Chinese version is now available as well.
  18. Hello and this is for a friend of mine who is sort of an artist. and i like to know on how to extract the models from Red Alert 3 and Uprising? Worldbuilder isn't the best for Viewing models accurately like the Naval form of the Giga Fortress. i tried to use cc3tools to extract the assets of the BIG file. https://multiplayerforums.com/files/file/1779-cc3toolszip/ (This is a secondary link The original doesn't seem to work) it sorta works but not the W3D files that i think are the models. can't be save with the binviewer. any steps on how to extract the models from StaticStream.big and view them? (i don't know were Uprising store it's models because i don't have Uprising if it still going to be StaticStream.big that keeps the remaining models.)
  19. Red Alert 3 rarely gets love from modders. But when it does, it gets it big time. A group of fans from the Chinese modding community developed Archon mode maps. For those who don't know, Archon mode refers to a multiplayer mode in StarCraft II where two players control the same base and army. In these maps for Red Alert 3, though, there is the limitation that one player controls the base construction, unit production and managing top secret protocols, while the other controls units and participates in battles. The maps included are the most common 1v1 maps: BattleBase Beta, Cabana Republic, Fire Island, Industrial Strength, Infinity Isle, Snow Plow, and Temple Prime. Click here for more information and download links.
  20. Changes from the upcoming unofficial Red Alert 3 1.12.6 patch by @Chris have been announced today. Like its predecessors, this patch is mostly oriented towards fixing bugs and tweaking the graphics, and is currently oriented at multiplayer matches and aims to be the patch of choice for competitive play and tournaments. Bugs that are fixed include instances where Tesla Coils could not fire at all, War Bears killing burrowed Tankbusters, Terror Drones not damaging infected units, MiG and Striker-VX missiles not damaging an Assault Destroyer with its Black Hole ability enabled, turrets being able to fire after being sold, frozen tanks being able to crush infantry that come too close and more. The full changelog can be read here.
  21. Despite receiving an official mod SDK and fan-made tools that are compatible with it, Red Alert 3 got few mods when compared to its predecessors. However, one mod for Red Alert 3 took the spotlight recently - Eastern Loong. Its selling point is the addition of the fourth faction, China, with its own visual identity and techtree. It has its own way of building structures - having them drop from the sky, and the units are fully voiced, albeit in Chinese, since the development team is from China as well. There's even an article on Kotaku about the mod! Check out the mod's ModDB profile page and give it a run.
  22. C&C:Online, the community-run multiplayer server for Command & Conquer games affected by the GameSpy shutdown, marked its third anniversary yesterday! This year alone, around 45,000 people have been playing on the servers, with the number still rising. To celebrate this anniversary, prized tournaments have been announced for the month of July, as well as a hint at a new and more convenient way to launch the games onto the service.

  24. Over a month ago, the team at GVMERS, who had previously covered the fate of the cancelled FPS Tiberium, created a video on the entire C&C franchise. What you are looking at above is the corrected, definitive version - certain facts about things that happened behind the scenes in Westwood Studios, EA Pacific, EA Los Angeles and Victory Games have been proofread, and each game is now presented in higher detail, in order to better describe what made Command & Conquer what it is, in both its good and bad times. The video is now 10 minutes longer in total, so be sure to check it out!
  25. Back in February, GVMERS posted a video that looked at what happened to the cancelled Tiberium FPS. Today, they have new Command & Conquer video that dives into the entire franchise. The Command & Conquer franchise helped shape the identity of RTS games during the 1990's and would influence the designs of countless similar strategy titles in later years. Even though the franchise ended with a whimper instead of a bang, it managed to create an indelible impact on the history of videogames. Join the team from GVMERS as they take a look at the rise and fall of Command & Conquer.
