Red Alert 3 Box Art Revealed

Recommended Posts

The box art for Red Alert 3 has been revealed on the Official Red Alert 3 Site. It's very bright, very red, personally I like it. But I'll let you be the judge....

From a graphic designers point of view, its pretty good. Its got colours that appeal and stand out, plus the yellow/orange lighting makes the image of the woman stand out and makes it very recognisable.

I like it :)

I like it. Seems a bit more "interesting" than the TW and KW ones. :)

Whilst I agree that it stands out very much in a good way, appealing colours and images, it does seem like it's just a collage of recycled concept art. I don't see the originality of it tbh, but then again, it's only box art, it's the quality of the game that's gonna count for me.

I say it needs to have more 'depth' into it. But this will do :)

It's pretty cool, but I'm surprised that Tanya isn't on it.

OK here's comes a shock. I like it too.

Reason I say this is because there is a box art tradition going on with EA's C&C's now... Like Westwood had a tradition of a soldiers face, EA have established a tradition where C&C boxes display an incoming attack of sheer force. With the exception of Zero Hour perhaps, every C&C box art has shown this sort of style, (with Generals being the most prominent before now) and it's good to be honest. It's firmly establishing EA's signature on the franchise. Lining them all up gives a good indication indeed of the style.

I think it makes a great poster, but it's not so good as a boxart. The angle of the commando chick is not optimal... for instance the first concept art with her tight but showing prominently is much more appealing. The cover needs an iconic unit over 2/3 of the box, but the object needs to look sexy or deadly - and in this pose she looks neither. Hang on - shouldn't navy be a prominent part of this cover???

But hey I don't like the C&C3 covers either. Glad I got the special edition with green Kane. But now I wonder whether RA3 will have a collectors edition?

Interesting that they went for the cartoon look....

I am also wondering about a collector's edition... Still kinda miss the headshot style...
