GDI Kodiak in Battlestar: Galactica Finale

The very popular Sci-Fi show, Battlestar: Galactica, reached in finale on Friday in the USA last week. I'm not a fan of the show to be honest, more of Stargate fan myself (a far superior show). Anyway eagled eyed fans spotted something very interesting during the final episode. Pictured below, in the middle of a fleet of ships is the GDI Kodiak. Its the same model with very little differences.

 

 

So why is a Command & Conquer unit in the show? Perhaps the team who create the fancy effects for Battlestar: Galactica are C&C fans and this is their secret shout out to C&C? Or perhaps they simply stole the Kodiak design and hoped no one would notice. Either way its damn cool! Thanks to Johnnyxp64 for the tip.

Stargate better than BGS? Are you insane man! Stargate was great UP TO Season, 8 I think it was, well the bit where they killed off all the Goauld. The last two seasons with the Ori, weren't that great at all.

 

I didn't actually notice that last night when I watched it... Nice eyes though.

 

At when point is it seen? Time index would be nice.

also just few seconds if i remember correctly after that i spotted the Serenity! OK Serenity its more "logical" to be there

cause they Firefly Siries had the same Writer as BSG, and was canceled too early.

 

but i still dont understand whats the connection between C&C and BSG? hope someone will found out and answer us later on.

maybe Apoc can find out and give us a tip

I just watched BSG Daybreak Part 2 finale and I didn't noticed it until you said so.

 

 

My jaw just dropped.

I did not get a HD version btw, which explains why I could miss details like that.

I'm a big sci-fi fan, and I have watched about all Star Trek and Stargate you can find, too bad neither has a series currently running. I think they are going to do another Stargate series but I don't know any details.

I've heard that a lot of people like BSG, maybe I should check it out sometime, when I have the time.

and the other 2 movies that i dont remember the names now but with the release order, honestly i couldnt get enough cause those last 2 movies was connecnted with the series...right?

It's a little hard to do, because there is not one straight line, but rather the storylines are interwoven (specifically Atlantis and SG-1).

 

Basically, here is the order (as I have gathered):

Stargate (movie)

SG-1 1997-2004

SG-1 and Atlantis 2004-2007

Stargate: The Ark of Truth (finale for SG-1)

Stargate: Continuum (another finale for SG-1, sequel to S:TAoT)

Atlantis 2007-2009

There is yet another Stargate film under production and an Atlantis one to finish off that series.

 

I realize this has little to do with a GDI ship appearing in BSG. If our off-topicness is too evil for a Front Page News forum, it might be best to split topics...

I enjoy Stargate, it's fun, I even own stargate sg1 seasons 1-10, and atlantis 1-3 but BSG is a much more complete product. The Ori were the worst thing that ever happened to SG-1. Valla was probably the best. And I don't think Ben Browder is a convincing leader of SG1, he doesn't have the right age/look and I'm a fan of Farscape. (I'm actually rewatching SG1 season 10 now.)

Rest assured, thats why I censored any spoilers in my comments and didn't leak anything for those who still have yet to catch up to season 4. One thing for sure, it's getting more better each season progresses.

I guessed the Kodiak easter egg was paying homage to the 6 and 8 in TW, a Tiberian universe of C&C. I wish the CGI team could shed some light on their true intentions of the easter egg. LOL. Or I hope Ronald D. Moore could say something about it in this finale's podcast (which I have no idea will he be making this finale's podcast?)

I've heard a number of C&C fans enjoying Stargate franchise. I watched the first Stargate movie ages ago (the one before SG-1 TV series started). However I wasn't able to catch up with the show at all because it has way too many seasons (anything above 5 seasons are way too much) and new movies and spin-offs. I am watching Stargate Atlantis season 1 at my leisure right now and I have no clue how it is related to the original. If someone nice could enlighten me please PM me about it.

I think it was in one of many threads about this on the Official C&C Forums. Not saying its actually called that, just what I read. Perhaps a more dedicated BSG fan can confirm this.
