The boxart is indeed pretty, but seeing the close-up of joe's face, now I feel his facial expression is too blank.

It needs more haughtiness, more messiah-ness... more something.

Despite wishing that the artists would stick to a more classic C&C theme given that this is the end of Kane's story arc, kinda saw this coming. Never like the X theme style. Sounds so much of Mac Leopard OS boxart.

I wouldn't think so. Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but I think the expression is perfect. I think it actually shows a more human side to him. He looks like a man who is indeed in troubled times. There's still some anger there, but also some fear.... Almost like the end is indeed nearer than expected. Such is the introduction to the game.

It's never advisable to oversell a product you place on the shelf. It just needs to show a basic image of what the game is, but be detailed enough to draw the eye. I think the box art succeeds highly enough to match that description. A "Busy" image isn't as attractive as you might think. Consumers are machines when it comes to buying, and they're not interested in what's on the outside anyway... it's what's inside that counts.

Hmm, I think they need to lose the in-game models and use the cinematic models.

Remember this game has only been seen at the pre-alpha stage so far. Would it have been fair for the community to slate Renegade X when it was first announced? You still had original UT3 powerups in place, and were using many placeholder elements from the game your team is totally converting. The maps, models and such have also improved from what I can tell as well. At any point in the early stages, you could have had an army of people complaining that the TC looked crap because of all those placeholders. Thankfully, no one really noticed. But you more than anyone should know that game development takes time. So I'd kinda expect you to be a bit more on EA's level more than most. But I'm guessing we'll see one hell of an eye candy show by the time the product ships.

the only think i dont like its the bottom close up, seems TOO unpolish, see Kane's shoes on the air, its not nice, the cape should be continued untill the bottom no shoes etc, and some arts seems to be drawn in the last minute.

Existor go FIX that Box Art dude and make as it Should Be!

Even I always preferred classic (westwood) design of the boxart, I have to say that I like design of C&C4 boxart and logo. This new number 4 looks much better than previous one.

Since this is the boxart it feels kind of weird that the raider buggy art looks less 3d than the rest of the models.

Saracen we'll have to agree to disagree...

And yeah Mal the Buggy seems like a weird choice for the cover art... period.

Ahh, Mirza, you also like the Soldier's Head, I'm begging for that too, but sadly, the devs decide to end this franchise with the smallest puff of wind instead of the biggest bang like the old times. :( But no, I hate those X designs, especially it's not related to the past boxart designs and as well as the empty black areas, I study design and I criticize nearly everything and will look out for meaningless stuff. And oh well, at least the number 4 is not that bad compare to the number 3.

I'm relieved in a way that the artists have decided to stick back using the Square721 Bold Extended (the new EALA C&C font) font for the 4. It's easier to play around from there.

Actually he's using his workplace's poster printer to print out the boxart. Neat stuff btw. How I wish I could borrow your workplace's printer. lol.

Very nice face expression from Kane there.

The box art is not final, its a mock up. Kane is taken from and old C&C 3 photo session, and manipulated. The C&C 3 Mammoth Tank and Venoms are there. Basically the art will change. Who ever made it did quick Photoshop job.

And in case you haven't seen, the pack shot box. It says Tiberium Twilight

It is cool and all, I just hope those marketing teams drew that boxart isn't coming from the dev team's concept art stash or collection. Copy & paste will still NOT be tolerated, especially from me the Westwoodian.

EDIT : I'm getting a little suspicious about those GDI Stratofighter jets above the Mastodon. Is that copy & paste?! DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!!

Thats new art, The GDI Condor.

The entire box art is "copy & paste", because that's how they are designed.

He means, 1 fighter copypasted to make a squadron...

he also means copypasting from another artwork peice.

Thorn of Silver wants, no demands, original artwork for his boxarts.

Don't you pay attention Sonic? Maybe Silverthorn should repeat it a few more times in every post!?!?

It should be a masterpiece of perfection tbh. :P

I HEARD THAT!! That Condor is STILL considered copy & paste when I saw that angle, duplicate them to make a squadron and all the marketing team did was adjusting the color settings in Photoshop. LAZY LAZY LAZY! Why can't they draw from scratch like Westwood did with theirs?! OR like those other boxarts that other game companies did with their games?!

Is EALA's marketing team & the current C&C utilizes copy & paste on their own boxarts these days?! You're very stingy, EA, very very stingy similar to providing us downloadable goodies for our special edition boxes.:facepalm: What's the matter with you & on the financial tightness, is the recession affecting you big time like Wall Street?!
