C&C 4 Unit Profile - GDI Titan

Recommended Posts

Another Command & Conquer 4 unit profile has been posted on the Official C&C Site. And this one gives us a look at a the always popular GDI Titan. As always this profile features a short in game video, concept art and extra information. Here is a sample....

Early in the 21st century the Titan was developed as an alternative to GDI's main battle tank. No expense was spared, as cutting edge technology combined locomotive designs, first tested in the Wolverine power-suit, with a skeletal frame forged from the world's strongest materials. The result was a powerful, yet expensive, armoured walker. Many of the first Steel Talons' commanders were former "Titan Jockeys," so it was only natural that they would initiate development on the Titan Mk. II when the time came.

It's a bit strange. Shouldn't the titan use Sonic weapons as seen in Kane's Wrath? Why are they using laser, shouldn't that be Nod's specialty?

Consistency isn't an EA strong point, you know this. :P

Damn, the model looks great, still looking like KW. But the upgrade does look kind of weird but acceptable.

I suppose its acceptable...the overall model looks almost identical to the KW model. But i do have to agree with the laser thing...oh well let EA do their thing and try to recover whatever dignity the Tiberium-verse had before TW.

I think they're trying to make it railgun-like with it capable of shooting through targets :P Well at least it's not a red laser :P

i still wonder why they need concept art if final design just reuse KW model and replace extra cannon on it. however i prefer the model in concept art look better than this version [ and it look more like original Titan]...

Looks nice. Futuristic but still withing boundaries.

I think whether it has lasers, cannons or other is very customizable. I doubt that you are forced to having the titans use lasers only.

They butchered the Titan in KW with it's new horrible design and now this?!! It looks worse than ever!!!

Some people are starting to argue that EALA isn't following the concept art detail into exact models being developed into the game. This unit is one of them. Titans should not be firing blu-ray lasers, it should be normal railguns.

The concept art looks horrible, luckily the final model is nothing like that... although I would like the Titan to have a "head" like in TS.

Is EALA trying to be lazy by fitting every weapon to be lasers? Just different colors? GDI should use railguns...

You're right... that must be a first that the concept is worse than the release.

As usual, GDI gets the much better designs than Nod, and as usual, it still isn't as good as former generations.

Second that, or something more innovative they can come out instead of the generic pew pew toys.

umm I don't care whether or not it shoots lasers or railguns. If they followed unit designs almost exactly like concept art then it would have FPS quality models in a RTS game and that would suck. Can't follow concept art exactly.

EA should have never went RA3 unit design, they also looked pew pew pew :mellow:

Still, seeing that Double barreld Titan is still nice.

Somehow it seemed as if the modellers decided to go for "budget" models, maybe they simply lack the skills or too lazy to follow the concept arts. It seemed to tell me that. I really wish to see the team based the units from the actual concept arts.

On the bright side at least the Titans aren't that cancelled FPS Tuna can design.

I hope, in the future, we see a modding team who make a KW/C&C3 version of C&C4 units. Implent them, and make them the way they should have looked

Agreeable, I got the feeling mods are getting more of a huge selling point these days when the original games have too many problems to please their fans.

Indeed. I heard a independent team is working on a KW SDK. So lets say that is released, they have enough stuff to make one Huge ass kick ass mod

Those 3 classes in KW, with an vanilla army, with bases! and Resources! And then with the good C&C4 units(Their are good ones, especialy on GDI), and get a true C&C4 going, as a free mod

Correct, but with many people doesn't feel like buying into this game, for my case, I rather wait for a total-C&C conversion mod (Which means with serious models & back to old school ConYard system, oh, don't forget on the original Tiberium harvesting too) instead.
