The GLA in the Rise of the Reds mod for Generals: Zero Hour will now have an air force, as can be seen in their latest news update titled, Lightning from a Cloudless Sky. The update goes into detail about each of the 2 new air units and how the Airstrip works.

Yeah that struck me as odd too... unless the airfield's are really a super-secret-underground-hangers it seems mismatched for my cliche and stereotypical view of this faction.

There was a few mods released around 2005 and 2004 that gave the GLA an air force

 

All I remember was a release of the "New Tech Mod".

The 'Air Force Mod' by eRe and BananasTheClown was also a very early mod for Generals that added quite a few aircraft for the GLA.
