They need to fix some problems with Renegade.... That would be sweet if they did.

Like when I put the CD in(the one you play the game with) and I click play, it says put in the game disk.(Well this happens for me, donno bout you guys)

Yes, you do. But, you know, instead of waiting for the boxed set to come out, you could've saved yourself alot of trouble by, oh, I don't know, looking after your CDs?

It'll be great though, I'm still missing out on Red Alert 1 and Tiberian Sun: Firestorm. >_<

Haha..you need a better CD drive...:P

I've had the same RA2 CD's and YR CD's ever since I bought them, 4 years ago. Nothing's happened to them because I've been fortunate with good CD drives and general CD care. :P

Louis Castle said in the interview for Gamespot nov 04, 2005, 2 days ago: "We are calling it the first decade for a reason! We absolutely intend to continue making games in the C&C franchise, but nothing has been announced at this time. For all the fans reading out there, I assure you that you haven't seen the last C&C game."

someone has already posted this link, I think, but here's again:

So, we WILL have more C&C games, The First Decade is a preparation for the new games. Let's just wait.

Here's a thought....

Now that the original CnC and Red Alert are going to be re-released - how do you think EA games are going to treat sites that have downloads of the games that were thought to be some sort of Abandonware? Like the FullRA and MiniRA packages for instance.

Cheers for now

Ah... that is very, very good to hear.

Still though... it's been a couple years since the last C&C game (and it was just an expansion pack, and a questionable one at that), and still not even a hint of another C&C. I'm still skeptical....

You know there are things called "lies". They are quite common in the business world.

Anyways, I was reading that and I found this:

"GS: We have to wonder about the state of the C&C team at this point in time, considering that key talent has already left the studio (such as executive producer Mark Skaggs taking a leave of absence, Dustin Browder leaving for Blizzard, Joe Bostic (a member of the Tiberian Sun and Red Alert teams) starting up Petroglyph, and of course, the departure of Joe Kucan, who played the role of Kane in the Tiberian games. How have these departures affected the status of the C&C franchise, and development on future projects in the franchise?

LC: I am really proud of the talent that has been a part of this franchise over the years. I count some of the guys that have worked on this series among my best friends and I truly believe that they are phenomenally talented. However, everyone who works in games knows that making a game is a collaborative effort and that it takes the combined efforts of many, many talented people to deliver a great game. While I'm excited to see my friends exploring new opportunities, I also couldn't be more excited about the team that we have in place on our current RTS game, The Lord of the Rings, The Battle for Middle-earth II. Mike Verdu is not only a creative leader inside of EA but was also key to the development of C&C Generals and C&C Generals Zero Hour. We have many long time fans of the series and core RTS gamers on the team who are talented designers, engineers, artists, and producers. I'm really proud that the game has a legacy that draws the best talent in the business."

Did he seem to unanswer the question? To me, he seemed just to be.... filibustering.

I think he is saying that he is quite happy that the team working on other RTS games at EA are capable of producing the next CnC title...

Cheers for now

...which spells death for the hope of a continued, legitimate C&C series :(

Looks like plotless Generals style games from here on out boys.

the chance to play the RA expansions is something I feel I've passed up and I don't think I should pass it up any longer, so this DVD will be something of a 'final piece in the puzzle' for me, as it will for many people.

hopefully it wont have any effect..since i just found a WORKING version of C&C Gold tht works on xp(its considered abandonware, so no bitching) and all missions play, no vids tho so it kinda sucks....but yea hopefully it wont have any effect.....and since the games arnt being really supported, just re-released, i don tthink itll do anything, but who knows

Well the games will be now be in retail circulation again and no longer considered abandonware so technically those sites who host what they call "abandonware" versions of the old games would have to remove them I would say.
