Hmm...speaking of MMO's, you got WoW Shah?

A CnC MMO hmm...sounds interesting...

WoW is easy and cartoony...

not for the hardcore gamer... it's popularity comes from it being so easy... hence all the little trouble makers raising hell and acting like fools.

You never see those horrible players in Eve Online, because you need a brain for Eve Online...

MMOs I played

-City of Heroes

-City of Villains

-Guild Wars

-World of Warcraft

-Final Fantasy Online

-Star Wars Online

-Ran Online

-Eve Online

My favorite is my first MMO... Final Fantasy Online... but it requires alot of time and you need to know your class well.

No, they are not. MMO's are exclusively played online. Seeing as there's the whole story missions to all of the CnC games, they don't count.

well, not a world type no...

so they produce 1,000 people online...

MMO worlds produce about 50,000 minimal... and cater servers to various countries... for languages.

So I would say C&C would be an MO not a MMO

Multiplayer Online, Massive Multiplayer Online....

To make C&C an MMO you need 5 servers, an actual world to explore, alliances to make... just things on a WORLD scale...

yea its highly unlikely considering its popularity compared to other games...most MMO games are really popular....

i mean what you could do...EVEN WITH HALO...is give people the choice of either being nod or gdi....and have custom armys sort of...something like generals...as your rank increases you get new units...that kind of stuff

nice to imagine...sad to realize

there are already mmorts out there and i played one for 10 days on trial. was cool apart from being attacked while your not their but i had my empire set up in a way that i could see an attack comming a few hours before it would arrive. i was gonna continue but didnt want to pay $15 a month when it gets reset every 2 months. i would give a link if i could remember it.

I'm for the third game in the Tiberian trilogy. But only if it links all the story together. It would be stupid to play out the final climactic battle for Earth by GDI, Nod, CABAL, and the Scrin before the whole story was told. If they intend to make a Red Alert 3 or Renegade 2 that links the storyline together then they should do that first before the final saga-ending finale. (Then after that C&C can move into new realms. There should only be 3 games in each sub universe of Tiberium & Red Alert.)(not including Ren or Ren2 as they are FPSs)

"Tiberian Twilight" was never supposed to be a trilogy though Bob. There was an interview a while back that explained that you simply cannot complete the whole storyline in 3 games... More like 5 or 6

But it'd have to be Louis Castle that oversees the storyline elements to the Tiberian Storyline, otherwise (quite simply put) EA will screw it up big time! Just like The First Decade, but much, much worse

Even a screw up would be better than nothing at this point. ;)

Well, another screwup would lose alot of C&C fans, especially if it was on a new game

Well personally if EA screw up the next C&C game (which hopefully they won't) then I don't think there's much hope... Although other people will buy C&C games regardless, I'll have to stand up and admit that it'll no longer be my number 1 following in the RTS genre.

I don't wish to do that, but if Petroglyph can hammer out the goods with Potential like Empire at War... and other gaming companies can do the same with the likes of Rise of Legends and Supreme Commander. Maybe C&C will have lost it's magic, and will no longer be the dominant in RTS gaming. I look for quality, not crap. C&C or otherwise.

My 2 main concerns about a new C&C are......

1) If they continue the Tiberian universe can current team at EALA do it any justice? Can they continue the series after all these years based on the original visions Westwood had?

2) They announce Generals 2.... that would suck!!! EA won't even dare to make a sequel to Generals would they?

Louis Castle has to personally oversee the Tiberian Story, otherwise, they won't do it justice...

If it is Generals 2, then quite frankly, not only would it be a huge mistake... But I'd also refuse to buy it... That's a universe with very little potential in my opinion.

yea i rely hope that they don't continue generals. i also must say that i would be happy with a red alert or tiberain game as long as they were made with alot of all that C&C magic and detail. :)

It all depends on the choices the people in charge make. If given enough time, Generals would have been (dare I say it) a great game. But it's EA we're talking about.... and they always rush production, no?

That's why I'm looking forward to Empire at War.

i dont think the generals games were that bad at all i enjoyed playing them

Letting Louis Castle take control of production over a possible Tiberian game would be the best idea, and if he has any dignity, he would try and make it at least as good as the original TD was.

I also hear a lot of people talking about that the Tiberium series being a Trilogy, in the past. Í've heard different stories from WS.

The story would be so big that it needed to be told in 5 or maybe even 6 games, if that is the case, and the vision of Brett Sperry. And EA makes a trilogy from it, how would that affect the story?

Now, I haven't played Generals, as it didn't seem a C&C game to me, and I've heard alot of different opinions about it, from being total **** to "Greatest RTS ever". I never had the balls to go out and buy it.

*thinks back to the days I recieved them from WS*

I didn't want to spoil the magic C&C always had for me.

I just want a Tiberium game, with the sidebar on the right, and maybe even 2d, as I still prefer that above the 3d rts.

With FMV movies, and with the continuation of the deep and rich storyline it has.

It's great to see a game is in production, now we'll just have to wait for the final product.

And it'd better be good

Generals is the C&C game that:

-Had the worst balance

-Had no storyline

-Had no cinematics, cus they are cheap bastards

-No Frank Klepacki, cus the wanted it more of a "Tom Clancy" type sounding game.

-No real feel of involvement...

-SWGen noobs

-Not enough content...

-The missions really had no tie together... you did the mission with no goal in mind as to your biggest plot....

-The stereotypical characters almost borderline offensive... but I also play with that concept... BAKALAKALAKA

-No cities or city type play areas... RA2 you got to play with landmarks and famous places...

-Littered with US war on terror Propaganda... (I bet all those kids in the warzone right now, played this gaming thinking they were gonna be heroes).

-Control and interface is a clear offense to the C&C name... it played like Warcrap... I mean Warcraft...

Well Red Alert already has 2 games (3 if you wanna include Yuri) and Tiberium has TD & TS so when the stories are linked that makes 4-5 & TT would make number 5 or 6. That is the logic I'm using. After all, Mr. Isgreen said they're all linked (Generals excluded of course) so it is 1 big storyline instead of 2. (so RA3 would complete the Red Alert trilogy which is the first half of the story, TT would complete the Tiberium second trilogy & finish the epic story.)

Heres how I see it

RA + CS, AM = 99% goodness

RA2 + YR = 89% goodness, YR overbalences, and the whole Yuri story...eh

RA3 + Expansion = link RA universe to Tiberium one

TD + CO = 98% goodness (no skirmish :( )

REN = 90% goodness, graphcis aint great, story is a bit weird, I dont like hte leader of the black hand, nothing like Slavic (who is my fav Commander BTW)

TS + FS = 98% goodness, very veyr good, needed some more all out music, very nice story and ambience was excelent. A Cliff Hanger

TT + Expansion = picks up off of FS, Scrin arrive, Forgotten as a playable side, along with Nod factions

TE (Tiberian Eclipse) + expansion = battle moves to space, underground, high seas, the moon, orbit, volcanoes...basically everything you can imagine. Mix of RTS and FPS play. World map. ect....

TA (Tiberian Apocalypse) + expansion = Earth assault on Scrin homeworld, take the war to them ect....humans exstinct on Earth, forgotten are a whole new species, they rule Earth now, Nod either gone or joined with GDI ect...

/ possible layout here, nothing deffinite /

I really don't want the scrin in C&C but I guess... I just want it to remain Nod vs. GDI. *sigh*

the scrin should be like the forgotten...and help both sides...not have a major side...or even just a side of forgotten + scrin
