VampireA05 0 Posted March 12, 2006 not Mondo Magic... its somekind of healing techniques or like inflict curse at someone... in asia, some people still believe this... i experienced 1st hand of this magic (healing magic).. it was like this, my dad was playing soccer (called football here..) when someone kick the ball to the back of his head. it was hell of a pain & headache. after consulting doctors, the pain still persist. it went on for 2 month. so he & his fren (who had toothache) went to a 'manang' ('medicine-man' in Iban). 1st, his fren complained sharp pain at his tooth. the manang took a piece of paper, a nail & a hammer. he struck the nail to the paper & ask him whether he can feel any pain. Clueles, he said no. then the manang begin to strike the paper randomly as he was trying to locate the bad tooth. when he striked it, that fella yelled like hell. the manang then strike the paper at the exact location for 3 times. after that, the fella said, his tooth ok. wow... then it was my dad turn. the remedy was, take a blowpipe, a dart & 'cupak' (a half of coconut shell). just before the sunrise shoot the 'cupak' which was placed at his forehead. it was me to blow the pipe. the next thing my dad know was, the pain was gone... it was freaky... i'm in doubt & sceptical... Luk3us 63 Posted March 13, 2006 Bah magic is simply ignorance. You don't what's happening so you assume its magical, when there is always a logic explation. Cause there always is. Share this post Link to post
Saracen 16 Posted March 13, 2006 If someone manages to convince themself of something, then it becomes real in their mind. It's like ghosts, the paranormal and all the other stuff that requires the mind to exist... It's all a load of rubbish, and like Luk3us says, there's always something logical behind everything. VampireA05 0 Posted March 13, 2006 i cant see any logical explaination there... you nail a paper & your toothache gone?? what paper gotta do with your tooth?? Share this post Link to post
Acerz492 1 Posted March 13, 2006 It's all a load of rubbish, and like Luk3us says, there's always something logical behind everything. Agreed. Show me something real, for example healing of grevious wounds in mere seconds, and I'll believe in magic. Untill then, however, it'll always be a load of bull to me. Share this post Link to post

Then I woke up  Share this post Link to post
rEdaSbLood 1 Posted March 14, 2006 welll im pretty supersticious..so i guess that counts.. Show me something real, for example healing of grevious wounds in mere seconds, and I'll believe in magic. well that depends on what you define as magic...i mean in that case magic can be the fact that we are living beings that developed somewhat unatural ways to heal certain sicknesses and the like or to be a real hippy...magic is the fact that we exist 8) Share this post Link to post
VampireA05 0 Posted March 14, 2006 some magic here..some magic there... not to say i believe this kind of thing but i'm sceptical. once there was an old man (a Muslim Malay) who had 800++ of wives!! according to him, ever since he was 19, he learned some kind of skill or magic & he able to court girls. shortest marriage he had was less than 24 hrs & re-marry again & again & again... at age of 70 something now, he's still 'powerful'... Saracen 16 Posted March 14, 2006 Why Marry em then.. He'd be better of staying single, shouting "Bring on the bitches!" and have the one night stands in abundance. That way you still get what you want without worrying about the stupid cow getting half of what you own. OK this is muslim marriages, but what the hell, when ya single ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Nothing to do with Magic though, he probably had the money and the charm as well as the looks. Which naturally leads to the logical explanation. Share this post Link to post
F15pilotX 4 Posted March 14, 2006 'manang' ('medicine-man').Meh..manang=medicine man=witch doctor=dealer w/supernatural :?: Just a line of thought.... Share this post Link to post
Acerz492 1 Posted March 14, 2006 according to him, ever since he was 19, he learned some kind of skill or magic & he able to court girls. It's called seduction, moron. There is no magic involved with that. Share this post Link to post
F15pilotX 4 Posted March 14, 2006 Meh, did u understand what he implied, Acerz??? Share this post Link to post
Acerz492 1 Posted March 14, 2006 Yes, I did. And it's true, you don't need any sort of magic to get with a girl. You just have to know what to say, when to say it and how to say it. Charm is not a form of magic. Share this post Link to post
Doctor Destiny 41 Posted March 15, 2006 And what to give her, when to give it to her and you have to pay ****loads for it. Very necessary. Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted March 15, 2006 What did I say earlier people? Ignorance... Not knowing how to do something thus concluding its magic when someone else does it, is stupid. Share this post Link to post
rEdaSbLood 1 Posted March 15, 2006 Charm is not a form of magic. well maybe your charm isn't, but some ladies claim mine is 8) Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted March 15, 2006 Yeah, its takes special skill to drive them away like a lion can drive sheep 8) There are occasional "magical" moments, more like where we are taken completely off guard by something so powerful, mostl ikely nature. When I was sailign in Florida last year, one of the days were just cruising along at out top speed of 4 Knots (without sails) and it was just quiet. Except for the strong breeze. And theres always a strong breeze on the ocean. Anywho, off to port (South) there was this gimungous storm forming up miles away, but hte ocean is flat, so we could see it really well. We could see the lighting going all over from cloud ot cloud, we could see hte grey curtains of rain, we could barely discern the distant thunder. Very cool image. None of us talked for hours, we just sat and watched it, with the 2 way going in the backround (call channel in the Floriday keys is channel 16, you leave it on this channel for alerts and emergencies, once you call in an emergency, they tell you what channel to switch to for one on one help). Nobody was really paying attention to it or the FM radio. Just sitting, and watching.... For anyof you who have seen monster storms form on the horrizon in flat places like the US midwest, Montanta, the Australian outback, or on the oceam.....very cool stuff Thats abotu the closest thing I've ever seen to "magic". And its not really magic, rather its just awe at the power and beauty of nature's fury. 8) Share this post Link to post
F15pilotX 4 Posted March 15, 2006 I would've loved to have been there 8) Make sure to take me with you next time Share this post Link to post
