Okay, so with everything up in the air in regards to the music for this game, let's all make a prediction as to whether we'll be listening to the music- recreationally- in 5 years. With the original C&C, RA, TS, and RA2, this was a no brainer. Sadly, Generals broke that trend. Do you think think they'll be able revive that excellent music streak and pull it off again with C&C3?

Predictions welcome.

I loved the GLA music in generals... though it had nothing to improve the game's atmosphere and stuff. C&C3 will have. I hope.

Though... you listen C&C tracks for fun? I like them in the game, but I don't overdo it.....

To be honest I think the soundtrack will be a good one, but I don't believe EA have the talent available to make the soundtrack memorable enough to be listened to in 5 years time. No one can reproduce Klepacki's sheer talent and EA know it!

As as great as Klepacki's music for C&C games is I don't really listen to it all that often outside of the game.

Unless the C&C3 is revolutionary, Im gonna have to say no. Much like the others, I enjoy it ingame, but leave it there.

That being said, I do have Hellmarch in my MP3 collection.

I tend to listen to "real" music. Game music, is just for that atmosphere ingame, as far as I'm concerned. Its not really that great by itself.

I've got the Red Alert 2 Sound Track (+Tesla Trooper Figure) with the collectors edition of RA2 Which i do enjoy playing every now and again though mostly when I'm playing other games.

dd/mm/yy Used by those who were under British rule

mm/dd/yy Used by Americans

Only exception to this rule is 9/11 which stays that way pretty much where ever its discussed (My english lecture had this in it to day so it looks like uni is useful after all)(!!!Go Otago Uni!!!).

I think you have the wrong thread. We were discussing this in another one.

Probably no... I liked the soundtrack in0game, but on it's own, it's really not that much...

I have TD, TS, and RA1 all on my iTunes (and subsequently, my iPod) + a few RA2 tracks. I never bothered to extract the RA2 and YR ones. And yes, I started my Frank Klepacki listening trend with the TS soundtrack. Of course, I extracted the rest of the music as well as the FS music from the game so...yeah. Woot.

I think 5 years from now I'll probably pop in the C&C3 music everynow and then. Besides, you never know, some of the C&C songs catch on at parties and such.

...but you're assuming it will be Klepacki level quality

I'm hopeful, but frankly not TOO optimistic about the music. But we shall see.... :)

If the music in C&C3 turns out be rubbish it can always be turned off

Well, I hope EA has the logic to make a good soundtrack... I mean, they did an ok job on Godfather... Personally, I expect alot from them... Considering what kind of gaming company they are...

I refuse to vote and develop an opinion. I will judge once I have the game and music in my hands.

The community has biznitched about the music for long enough, I think/hope that EA has the general idea by now.

As long as they dont start using "popular" bands to do the music.

Limp Bizkit FTW!!! :haha:

That'd be so painful to listen to. If EA were to add their so-called "EA-Trax" system to an RTS, I wanna take the game case and shove it up the orafice of whoever came up with the idea. Then they can experience the pain we'd all have to go through listening to crappy rockEMO bands that cannot even tell what quality is.

In fact if that happened I'd probably go emo and slit my wrists with the null intention of wanting to kill myself! :haha:

I would just nuke LA. Or Sink it. Take your pic.

I dont think Louis Castle and Aaron Kaufman are that stupid. They say they've got something good, and Im willing to believe it until proven otherwise.

I know how to swim.....

I still stand by my point. What I've seen so far of C&C3 has impressed me. Although there are still issues, like no helmet on the red zone inf, the GDI logo, ect ect

CnC3 should have different music according to which faction the player chooses to play as (kinda like in Generals). For example, GDI's music should have a patriotic theme but must be heavy on Rock n Roll(not like the slow tune for U.S in Generals). Nod should have a sinister theme in their music and a slight touch of Death Metal . As for the Scrin, the music should feel slightly futuristic and technoish, but yet have a melancholic tone. The music in CnC3 should ofcourse have Klepacki feel as well

Just some of my thoughts

Good night.

Not a bad idea, kingjolly. But there do need to be some ambient tracks heard by all sides, as well as some general all around goodies. Warfare, Mechanical Man, Bigfoot, Nod Crush, and Pharotek all come to mind, as examples.

I saw the GDI logo on the video clips released so recently. It now looks much more like a GDI logo than the US one. However, there is one major problem with the videos....WHAT THE HELL IS IT DOING BEING ALL SUNNY AND CRAP!!! ITS SUPPOSED TO BE DARK AND ION STORMY AND TS-ESQUE!!! After all, this is the post FS world, not the pre-TS one. Even if EA wants it to feel more like TD, there is still the storyline to think of. So far the vids have only made me think of a Generals Mod with spiffed sage and GDI. Not as promising as I thought, however, perhaps once they start releasing Nod images and Tiberium in the pics, things will look darker 8)
