Big C&C 3 Announcement Coming on August 7th

A simple, yet strange update has appeared on the Official Command & Conquer 3 Site showing the Command & Conquer 3 logo with a red background, and on August 7th, Command & Conquer 3 will be revolutionized!

 

 

Obviously the first conclusion most people will jump to is this will be the announcement of the expansion, but you never know it could be something else entirely.

It's Apoc's biggest patch hype yet! 1.07 coming August 7th!

 

It's bound to be the expansion. But how you'd revalutionise C&C is beyond me. Unless all my criticism has been noticed and EA are taking steps to get back the fans they've lost. Too late in the day for that now though.

 

I wonder if they'll try and rip something off while they're at it. A feature from Universe at War perhaps, that'd really tick some people off.

There are 2 other options:

- the Battlecast viewer. This was a 'revolutionary' feature mentioned at release time, so what if it is ready now?

- the start of the ladder season?

Question is though. Why hype something this community should of had when the game was released. Battlecast is old an unexciting news and it's EA's fault it's that damn late. :roll:

I think they're be releasing the Battlecast viewer or something along those lines, and finally launch their "RTS as a Sport" concept....

 

Or maybe the expansion, but I doubt it will be that, as an expansion ain't gonna make C&C3 all that "revolutionary".

hmm mod sdk is most likey, but I'm struggling under the hype factor... I don't know which way to run.

Hmm... What I also would like to see is the possibility to choose which track gets played like in older C&C games... Would be nice... And a really nice feature would be if you could also add external files for playback..

well my opinion is that it will be red alert 3 (red background, C&C revolutionized) that stands out to me.

Lets list the possibilities here, some of them are outrageously ridiculous by the way....

• Its not the patch, no date has been announced for this patch, and a simple balance patch is not going to revolutionize C&C 3.

 

[*]Mod SDK: Possibly, but this is just a tool for modders. Its it been stated that it will arrive with patch 1.07 (someone correct me if I'm wrong). The Mod SDK will be released in similar fashion to when the Worldbuilder was released.

 

[*]Red Alert 3 or Red Alert game: Seriously, think really hard, its the C&C 3 logo on a red background. It has nothing to do with any RA game.

 

[*]The long delayed Battlecast viewer: This maybe it, but do you really think a tool that lets people who do not have the game view replays will revolutionize C&C 3?

 

[*]The Expansion: This is what it will be, the announcement of the expected expansion.

I doubt it would be the announcement of another C&C game such as RA, cause it says C&C3 will be revolutionized, not C&C...

Aww... it's no fun when you apply logic to this sort of thing. This is the internet for crying out loud! It's a place for wild speculation!!! I was looking at the logo again.... but about something as simple as a port to another console. I'm not up on the slogans but does it sync with any of those?

 

Bored sigh... expansion does seem likely now. But hopefully it's the content that is revolutionary. 4th Faction???

 

(Sighing because I was hoping for something out-of-the-box so to speak.)
