CNCNZ.com - Back in Blue

As you can see CNCNZ.com has returned to it's more traditional colour scheme of blue and gold, I have called it "Blue Resurrection". With the site's 10th anniversary coming up in a couple of months I thought it would be a good idea to restore our popular blue style that we first started using all the way back in the year 2000.

 

Some parts of the site have been re-organised a bit, while there are parts that have been dropped all together, like the Page 2 section. It worked when we first added it but as time went by it got neglected it was never updated. Since our Image Gallery is so big each major section can be access via the left navigation menu now. While on the right side we will now feature small samples from the CNCNZ.com Video collection right on the main page.

 

Nothing else has really changed, other CNCNZ.com unique features are still here like the rotating banners at the top of every page, the Game Tracker on the main page and more.

 

And while we are on the subject of changes, the forums are also sporting the new style.

This design is basically CNCNZ.com V8 (the red one), with some things taken from Petro-Gamers, decked out in our old colour scheme.

 

Regarding the forum colours. I will make tweaks and improvements based on feedback.

Also, as I've mentioned in the past. All the old forum styles are still available for those who like living the past. Just change to the one you want from your profile page.

 

The new one is called "cncnzBlueRes" short for "CNCNZ.com Blue Resurrection".

 

UPDATE: Made a minor change to the images related to the area I think Luk3us was talking about. Refresh to the see changes.

This reminds me of way back when I was a little nub c&c player on Tib Sun. I always used to get my patches here.

Getting things organised better was one of my goals for the new layout. The bar at the top is what I refer to as the Universe Bar, or Uni-Bar for short . Want to see all the content related games in the Tiberium universe on one page? Click the Tiberium button and you'll get everything from Kane's Wrath and Tiberium Wars all the way back to C&C.

 

Also, every section like the Image Gallery, Games, Files is sorted by universe first then the order where the game fits in. But reall most are in the order the were released with the exception being Renegade.

 

I like the CNCNZ X logo too.

That's been up there for awhile now , I guess I'll have to change it now though.

There's no point in having 2 sites looking identical. Each site has it's "trademark" look. With CNCNZ it's this classic blue/Gold theme, and as it stands, Petro-gamers has it's green/Orange theme.

 

Both sites have to maintain a mutual independance since they cover 2 entirely different areas of the RTS market.

You could always join us on Petro-Gamers you know . Its not just about Empire at War (the Star Wars RTS), its about all Petroglyph games.... past (EaW), present (UaW) and future.

 

But anyway, I don't see myself bringing the Petro-Gamers style over to these forums anytime soon. Or taking the CNCNZ.com style there.

 

Also, those who are not so eagle eyed will spot a few changes since the new layout was uploaded. Fixed the main logo on the main site, its a bit cleaner now but some ugly edges show up on certain backgrounds. Made some minor tweaks to the CSS for both the site and forums as well.

 

It just goes to show, you finish a site layout but it's really never considered complete.... at least not to me anyway. Because I'm always making these little changes as I go.

 

Next job is a new order for the forums I think.

i agree, these colours make the fourms seem so clean.and i love it
