Kane's Wrath GDI Titan & Wolverine Finally Revealed

Recommended Posts

Lots of people in the community have been waiting to see what the Titan and Wolverine will look like in Kane's Wrath. And now you can see them in their glory. As EA have posted hi-res renders and videos on the Official C&C 3 Site.

THE TITAN

Back Story: The Titan assault walker dates back to the Second Tiberium War, where it played a key role defeating Kane and, later, CABAL. Despite the GDI Council's repeated attempts to phase out the vehicle, the Titan's popularity within the military has kept the walking tank active on the battlefield. This persistence can be credited to the vehicle's solid design – standing an impressive 25 meters tall, with massive 120mm cannons protruding from its heavily armored chassis, the Titan is anything but out of date.

Strategy: Slower but tougher than the standard GDI Predator tank, the Titan is an effective, flexible combat unit – especially when outfitted with its powerful Railgun Accelerator and Adaptive Armor upgrades, which help keep the Titan competitive against even the toughest enemy units.

THE WOLVERINE

Back Story: Like the Titan, the Wolverine anti-personnel walker entered service during the Second Tiberium War, and its presence continued to be felt on the battlefield late into the 2030's. Fast moving and lightly armored, the Wolverine could be considered a predecessor to GDI's current Zone Trooper and Zone Raider elite infantry, performing effectively both as a scout and as a powerful counter to Nod's fanatical hordes.

Strategy: Beyond its standard role as elite anti-infantry, the Wolverine is also a perfect scout unit – fast enough to stay ahead of the pack, but packing enough weaponry and armor to get itself out of any unexpected difficulties. When upgraded with damage boosting AP Ammo, the Wolverine becomes even more effective, remaining dominant against enemy personnel right up to the endgame.

This proves EA know the meaning of the word HD, but will they ever release Battlecast primetime as HD? :(

Come on, all the damn episodes adverts themself as being in HD, but you can't download HD! :( :?

Why they look like that? Kinda cool, but I liked more Titans and Wolverines in TS

Bcs we are in 2007, not in 1997, designs must evolve and this new ones looks more futuristic and kickass, no more walking coffins or construction cabines 8)

Yeah, I really love these designs. I always thought the Wolverine (however cool) looked more like a walking box in Tiberian Sun. I hope they fix up the in game animation of the Wolverine a little though. It seems to move slower than the Titan and looks a little clunky. :?

I always knew the mechs would be back, and I like the way EA designed the mechs to make them look more realistic!

Its funny though because the Wolverine reminds me of the "Cougar" mech from mechwarrior, mostly because of the animation details (it walks like a cougar).

Honestly, now thinkin from lookin at these graphics, I think EA would be the perfect company to get Mechwarrior back in track with a Mechcommander game. lol. (Just my opinion)

Now it think the Epic Unit for GDI is going to be a Mammoth Walker, maybe designed like the walkers from Universe at War (with the custom hardpoints :D )

well IMO i don't realllly mind the new designs, but in plain sense it doesn't work. the new Wolverine is better because the older one didn't seem like it would be capable of such fast movement. but to me, this Titan doesn't fit in the class of a mech. the Titan should be a little more bulky and robust like in TS. its 3d render worked well, but this render (although new and interesting) has maybe a cartoony feel to it with its scrawny knees...

anyways, no worries. i like that the mechs are back regardless. they kick arss

EDIT: correct me if i am wrong but these are suppose to be left over units or?????

if they are left over then the designs are completely unreasonable, unless explained?

i need a fill-in :P

The knees on both of them are insanely unrealistic..

Beside's the wolverine design looks damn simmiliar to the mech from warhammer 40k.. :strain:

EDIT: and seriosly... you can't disagree with me, right?

Idea of bringing the legendaries back

Design of the wolverine,

Anyway I can't be more happy with EA becouse of the return of them..

It amuses me that EA bring back the Titan and Wolverine but people still continue to complain about them. EA listened to the fans and here is the result. Be happy about that.

I agree with you, but i dont find it amusing, rather depressing.

As if the world wouldnt be a bad place to boot, we have to give each other a hard time and make a fuss about small things.

Sure, they could be improved here or there, but theyre mechs, they work like the TS ones, and EA brought them back without ever having to.

I dig them like this, they look modern and malicious, but still traditional while maintaining a balance between uniqueness and resemblance.

I understand both design choices, since the Titan is basically the MK3, so it uses design cues of both MK1 and Mk2, and the Wolverine has a wider breast plate since later on it evolved into the zone trooper suit- While the idea of the originals are contained. Furthermore, with thicker legs they would just look like any other mech.

I know theres much missing in KW id like to see but i am grateful for everything ive read so far, making me anticipating the game.

And for those who still arent content, Apoc already noted that he knows about the legs and set up a stickied topic about our opinion. The whole community handling got much much better, imho.

lol.. Well of course, it doesn't matter what EA does, there is always going to be someone who will be moaning about something, they're never be able to appease the noobs that infest the official forums. :P
