TheRoadToDawn 0 Posted February 12, 2008 (edited) Thanks to Lion and HeXetic, CnCDen and PlanetCnC, respectivly. Looks as though the guys have found a Hungarian Gaming Magazine with the front cover of a game some of us have been waiting for a while... Thats Right. RED ALERT 3 The picture of the front cover magazine (PC Guru) is uploaded. However Lion clearly states it there is a possibility that it could be fake. Funny enough according to HeXetic, the magazine will be shipping on Feburary 14th. The same date that EA will be announcing their little surprise. So what do you guys think? TheRoadToDawn 0 Posted February 12, 2008 (edited) Where? Command&Conquer.com? Can you get a link? Edited February 12, 2008 by TheRoadToDawn Share this post Link to post
Saracen 16 Posted February 12, 2008 If this is the case, the community need to butt the hell out of this game and let EA make it how they want to. Forget Dolphins and mind controlled squids, forget the cheezy rubbish that RA2 built. If Red Alert 3 is to be a decent game EA need to tell the comunity to STFU and come out with the goods themselves. Share this post Link to post

TheRoadToDawn 0 Posted February 12, 2008 (edited) I can agree with you on the Squids and the Dolphins, they need to go. I want a more realistic/sci-fi RA3. Needs to have that Risk style play with maybe a sub-unit layout similar to Emperor Battle for Dune. Soviets: *Futuristic Telsa/Nuclear Technologies *I want the Heavy Tank back! *Mammoth Tank has got to stay. lol. *Iron Curtain Tech Allied: *New Solar Tech *New ChronoTech *Holograph Tech (hmm that need to be debated) *New Types of light, but cheap, units. *I would also like to see the classical Spy Satellite lauching from the tech structure again. lol. Yuri: *Will his forces still be present?!? Civies: *Famous Monuements. *Realistic Gold/Gem Foundations *Old and New Tech Structures! Gben 20 Posted February 12, 2008 Well I liked the cheesy RA2... I'll go so far as to say it might be my fav C&C game... but yes I am thinking that RA3 will have more fans riled than C&C3 ever could. It's going to be interesting where this story connects too... Share this post Link to post
Saracen 16 Posted February 12, 2008 To be honest Red Alert 3 can keep the Iron Curtain, Chronosphere, and Tesla coil... regardless what EA may do to this we can see them staying... But anything else can go.... goodbye Tanya, attack dogs, hell I don't even care for Naval units.... But yeah I have to agree, it needs to be a realistic RTS.... I think the pace of the game needs to slow down too from what C&C 3 gave us... that was a little too fast in some respects. Share this post Link to post

But I must disagree with you on Tanya, Attack Dogs, and Naval units. Those are iconic when it comes to the Red Alert Universe. I would not be a true Red Alert game without the Dogs, the Ships, and Tanya. Hell my dad would throw a fit if they got rid of the Naval units. Share this post Link to post
hagren 0 Posted February 12, 2008 Naval units are a must! And yes, its real, the date is too. Its going to be a 10-page, world-exclusive preview on their experiences of playing RA3 in LA. I sent it to Lion and we agreed afterwards that its not fake Share this post Link to post
TheRoadToDawn 0 Posted February 12, 2008 (edited) But I just cant help the previous Red Alert 3 annoucement. It was Mark Staggs that annouced that Red Alert 3 would be developed but then it was assumed canceled when Tiberium Wars was annouced. I just hope that this annoucement does not end up like the last. lol Edited February 13, 2008 by TheRoadToDawn Share this post Link to post
hagren 0 Posted February 13, 2008 (edited) Dont think so with a 10 paged preview. Edit: PC Gamers going to have a preview as well: http://www.pcgamer.com/archives/2008/02/21208_-_red_ale.html Edited February 13, 2008 by hagren Share this post Link to post
TheRoadToDawn 0 Posted February 13, 2008 (edited) Wow. Kinda like the GameInformer cover better. lol Edited February 13, 2008 by TheRoadToDawn Share this post Link to post
Gben 20 Posted February 13, 2008 Naval units are a must! Uh oh. Isn't navy combat - the one area that SAGE struggles with??? Dogs, Tanya, Navy... very iconic... very needed. Sexy Communist on the cover by the way. Works for me anyway. RA3 Beta spots up for grabs... whoah! Share this post Link to post

Doctor Destiny 41 Posted February 13, 2008 If this is the case, the community need to butt the hell out of this game and let EA make it how they want to. Forget Dolphins and mind controlled squids, forget the cheezy rubbish that RA2 built. If Red Alert 3 is to be a decent game EA need to tell the comunity to STFU and come out with the goods themselves. But that cheese factor is what made Red Alert 2 so much fun to play and mod. The Tiberium saga has been so boring to mod. I feel stifled in that series but RA2 gives me a lot more freedom when it comes to modding. Then again, that's just me. I hope this is true though. I want a new game to mod heavily and extensively. Share this post Link to post
Duke 0 Posted February 13, 2008 That's very interesting. Interesting move from EA... Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted February 13, 2008 Oh course its going to be using Sage. And Naval combat is out, its complete waste of time. Stick with land and air, sea just complicates matters unnecessarily, and scale issues always make battleships and such look stupid anyway. Share this post Link to post
TheBlackOut 6 Posted February 13, 2008 Who said anything about SAGE? Let's hope nobody does, either. EA usually brags when they get a new engine... They haven't bragged about a new RTS engine since SAGE. Share this post Link to post
Mighty BOB! 5 Posted February 13, 2008 (edited) I demand naval! Actually I'm a lot more open to whatever they do with it than I was about C&C3 because, well, the RA story is already messed up; less to get flustered about. I figure as long as the Soviets still have Iron Curtains and Tesla technology, and the Allies still have Chrono technology I'm pretty happy (also naval, and the Soviets get a heavy industrial design. ). --edit-- Oh right and I hope they don't try to bridge RA and Tiberium, although I don't think they'd try that anyways. Gben 20 Posted February 13, 2008 I was drooling over the 2 magazine covers again, and it's just concept art I know. But it today's cutting edge graphical computer world - it was interesting to see they chose to use cartoon graphics. Compare with Tiberium. Would EALA go so far as to create a cel-shaded RTS??? I'm sure they wouldn't but it's an interesting spin. Share this post Link to post
Inferno 22 Posted February 14, 2008 Yus! The SAGE engine would fit red alert so much better! Share this post Link to post
Gben 20 Posted February 15, 2008 Well obviously I am wrong again on the cel-shaded units - but it would be kinda cool. Well perhaps I should reserve judgement till that other mod is finished... the mario mod or whatever it's called. Share this post Link to post
