General Kane Nash 0 Posted February 23, 2009 Man, EA didnt need to add all that stuff about you commanding squads of AI soldiers, just make a nice campagin like the one of Dead Space and make a multiplayer like a mix of BF2142 and Crysis, seriously, people will buy it simply to see what's going on! Sonic, could you and the guys of the other websites make a poll to see how much people want the project resurrected? I am sure if they see we love this stuff they will bring back to life Tiberium. I wont have any problems to wait a year or two as longest is on the road. Share this post Link to post
recover 2 Posted February 23, 2009 Pretty cool. This makes me wonder when/if the second novel will be released. Share this post Link to post

No all they needed to do for the multi-player was remake C&C_Mode >.< As for the concept art, it looks ok, I hate the concept for the zone trooper, but the nod stuff looks ok. Even though I firmly believe that Nod does not have a corporate side and I hate how EA is trying to make them have one... Still glad it got cancelled... *Saves all everything for posterity sake.* Share this post Link to post
ORCaLoVeR 0 Posted February 23, 2009 No all they needed to do for the multi-player was remake C&C_Mode >.< 100% agree on that. The battlefield concept is a bit old now, same goes for classic deathmatch games Would made Tiberium a worthy game to be played online Share this post Link to post
rEdaSbLood 1 Posted February 23, 2009 (edited) yea basically they had to take renegade, improve its graphics, make a new storyline, and viola...instant classic... awesome art btw Edited February 23, 2009 by rEdaSbLood Share this post Link to post
Johnnyxp64 20 Posted February 23, 2009 the only sad in this story is that those arts in those portofolios are from talanted people that lost their job from others mistake and now try to improve their cv. hope a better company will give them the change to make something great. Sonic 295 Posted February 23, 2009 The more of these concepts you look at, you can sort of understand why this game got canned. They are very ambitious and most likely the Tiberium dev team could never take these concepts and turn them into an actual game. Share this post Link to post
hagren 0 Posted February 24, 2009 The problem wasn't with the high quality of the art, but the lack of direction concerning the game. And considering the loss of 100 million dollars I'd say we should leave Tiberium buried forever- The concept arts were too generic anyway. Superb, but not in any way unique. General Kane Nash 0 Posted February 24, 2009 It's already well known thanks to Gamasutra what failed at Tiberium was not the art team (come on, videogame artists are the salt and light of this good Earth, the promise of WIN in the midle of a sad enviroment filled with bad and dumb publicity, and they are usually the last thing which fails in a project) the problem is that the direction tried to innovate too much in the concepts in Tiberium but in the end they acchieved nothing but millions lost, but I mean, what's the point to tray to innovate if most people simply want simply beautiful scenarios with a lot of atmosphere, stories and a couple of features? This is the same of what happened with Tiberian Sun, Eric Gooch and company made an incredible work in terms of design (well, except for the original wolverine, but everyone have bad days) the problems was that Westwood tried to put too much things and in the end they only were able to add a shadow of what they promised, and worst of all, the game wasnt able to run but on high end rigs.
