CNCNZ.com Celebrates 14 Years Online

Recommended Posts

I can't believe we totally forgot about our 14th anniversary. It basically got overlooked while we were busy with our forum upgrades. We actually entered our 15th year back on the 27th of October. Yes, my friends, CNCNZ.com has been commanding and conquering the C&C Community for 14 years now. We have seen it all, done it all. This site was here at the very early days of our community, we are talking about the years of 1997 and 1998. Back in those days, we were all waiting for this game called Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun, from some group who were based in Las Vegas, they called themselves Westwood Studios. Have you heard of them before? No, didn't think so.

It's been a long, fun, and sometimes painful ride. Perhaps it's time to get off? No way! We are just getting started here at CNCNZ.com. The forum upgrades, a new look main site are just the start of new things to come in the near future as we prepare for the Victory Games era of Command & Conquer and rebirth of this iconic franchise. Strap yourselves in, because we are going to do this all over again!

Why did I think these anniversaries are in summer...

Anyway, 14 years is quite a lot. Keep it up, Sonic!

Who noticed my mistake? The site is 14 years old, we just started our 15th year ;) October 1997 to October 2011.

Possibly. Planet CNC is right up there. So is Lion and the CNC Den, but they are both not as active as they once were.

Congrats, i hope you guys will be part of the community for many more years.

Wow, a community manager that comes to post a comment at the site who actually does it through free will. As opposed to us moaning at him for not being community site focussed enough.... KUDOS!

I like this guy already!

Although Planet CNC was founded in 1997 as well, it wasn't released publicly until June 4th, 1999.

Dunno about CNCDen, but RADen was in planning stages in 1999 and was finished on May 5th, 2000. A TSDen site existed in 1998. So yeah, seems our beard has the most white hairs :P

Congrats Everyone for the job well done here! I too hope you can be here long after the end is reached.

I too remember the early days of Westwood Studios when I was a young lad, scary how time seems to fly. Also, can't wait for the next CnC since it seems they are FINALLY putting in the time it deserves to make a long awaited awesome game. CnC will always be my favorite RTS game no matter what since it is the one that got me into gaming altogether.
