CNCNZ.com is now officially 6 years old

Recommended Posts

I posted this in the Webmaster Wire on the main site, but just incase you missed it.

Did you know that CNCNZ.com is now officially 6 years old, yes we have been online for over half a decade now!

That means when 2005 rolls around we will begin our 7th year online. I think its rather large milestone for a C&C fan site..... don't you?

A curiosity: does CNCNZ stand for Command & Conquer New Zealand?

To quote from this post from a couple of months ago

CNCNZ.com began as a Tiberian Sun site called the Tiberian Sun Zone in late 1997, by mid 1998 I changed it into TiberianSun.Net.NZ, or TSNNZ for short. After the release of TS I started to plan out what I then called Command & Conquer NZ. For a short time I toyed with the name CNC.Net.NZ since the domain at the time was www.cnc.net.nz, as time went by the name became CNCNZ because thats how everyone mentioned it on their sites.

Once we purchased the www.cncnz.com domain in the middle of 2000 I changed the name again by adding the .com part a few months later, the site officially became CNCNZ.com.

For our USA friends this is how you correctly pronounce the name

C - N - C - N - ZED dot COM

So in the past the site name was once Command & Conquer New Zealand, but now its just CNCNZ.com.... always remember the .com part.

British, and say CNCNZee. It just rhymes and sounds better. Usually I say zed, for Z. But, ah, who cares.

Congrats Sonic, and the crew of CNCNZ!

lol, it's all because of your origin. I live in a country which pronounce Z with ZET. So, I pronouce CNCNZ with C-N-C-N-ZET

I don't think we need to discuss this again. So, hmm.......just keep on the topic.

In my language, we pronounce Zê, so in English I usually say Zee instead of Zed. I need to work my English, two tests next week.

...and what's up with the pronunciation? I had no idea that Z was pronounced "zed" over there! You learn something new every day...

Ohh....c'mon people, this is not a thread about how to pronouce Z. It's all based on your origin, that's it.
