Games You Want, But Cannot Get!

Recommended Posts

You are playing games and you suddenly realise that game you've always wanted four years ago you still haven't managed to get hold of for love or money. You look on Ebay, but it's not there, you look around all your local gaming shops for a pre-owned copy, but it's not there!

You'd give your right arm just to get hold of the game. But it's no use, you're not gonna get it even if you have to bribe someone.

Are there any games you have seen over the years, but have never managed to buy or steal from your best friend cos he owns it? Post them here.....

For the NES-

Dragon Warrior: 3 & 4. Searched for years found them both for 15 bucks.

Conflict: found later for about 5 bucks

Super C: found later for 7 bucks

Super NES-

Orge Battle: Free/Tossed away at a video store for the new game system

Super Conflict: lost interest

Legends of Orcania- Third Zelda/Link game: 5 bucks

PC-

X-Com- Terror from the deep: 5 bucks

C&C Red Alert: Combo pack with Tiberium Dawn for 12 bucks

Slowly losing my interests with games... it's all about graphics now, not gameplay.

I can't wait for Live and Reloaded. :P

Now that I think about it... I'd like the entire MegaMan series for the NES. I love those games... They're fun, challenging and just plain kewl.

It's probably not just that, once you've played a numerous amount of games, you know what you prefer and you begin to establish standards of which you determine what is an acceptable level.

I am the same, a few years ago I'd buy anything which was susceptible to hype. Now I'm very fastidious about the games I chose to buy.

Tiberian sun was fantastic because you had Kane in it, after we got to Kabal, it just got silly...very silly...

I want to get my hands on Act of War and perhaps Doom 3. I know many people have slated this game for all its worth, but I do believe that playing it will make me feel better. the amount of inneuendos and possible humourous comments that are going to be made from that game will be well worth the price of it.

stinger,

i agree with you, great gameplay wise games have lost their fair say in the industry, but graphics are the most important piece in making a great game.

8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

Far from it... Some of the greatest games in history have had below standard graphics.

Anyone who thinks that graphics make up a huge portion of a great game, then you do not have the understanding of what makes a game of professional quality...

One game I can name that was released in 2001 was the game "Uplink", which was an artificial hacking simulator... it was an excellent game which was made by 3 British guys in a bedroom in a small house with 3 laptops and no money. They published it professionally themselves, and they made quite a bit of money out of it. No game has managed to create the atmosphere of avoiding getting caught, and the stress of a game over, especially when you cannot revert back to a saved game!!

No special computer generated graphics or special effects.. just mainly text and basic pictures... but this game got 80% in PC Gamer UK as it's gameplay and interface was seen as highly realistic.

The 3 guys have released a new game called "Darwinia" with no real interface.. basic graphics, it was inspired by the game "Future War" and with a similar story to the film "Tron"... but this game got a 90% average and countless awards!

So no, Graphics account for nothing!

Proof is in the pudding with these, download the demos and see what I mean. So addictive you'll want a copy

yes... graphics, while definitely a lot of fun, are overrated when it comes to gaming

Some of the best games were in DOS, and Tiberian Sun still beats generals in most C&C player opinions
