Saracen 16 Posted January 25, 2006 Get a glass bottle (a brick works better) and from a height, whack it over your head.. You'll be out like a light  Or Watch Lord Of The Rings: Fellowship of the ring... You'll be so bored, you'll have no trouble falling asleep. Failing that... get off the PC, get to bed, and don't think of anything, don't do nothing... you'll eventually fall. Share this post Link to post

Guest Rabbit Posted January 26, 2006 Oh come on TSBO. In track, they always use the metric system. Share this post Link to post
Doctor Destiny 41 Posted January 26, 2006 He's right you know. We don't hear about the 99.14 yard dash, now do we? No, we hear about the 100 meter dash. EDIT: Corrected a calculation. I don't know where I got my original figure from. Share this post Link to post
BWare 0 Posted January 26, 2006 It's true. Metric makes more sense scientifically, and it is technically a better measurement system (doing calculations in chemistry with the American system is a bitch), but it's so ingrained into our culture that it's hard to make the switch. We've tried before, but it just hasn't caught on. Share this post Link to post

We've tried before, but it just hasn't caught on. I somewhat like having different stuff then the rest of the world. Yes, I agree for science and stuff its easier, but I wouldn't want to listen to American Football and hear: "He's going for a 90 meter run!" In track they use the metric system? For some part yes. But our whole track is 1/4 mile. So 4 laps= mile. Share this post Link to post
BWare 0 Posted January 26, 2006 That is true. I personally would never be able to adjust completely... it looks like the status quo will remain untouched for a long time. Share this post Link to post
