C&C FPS News from Game Informer Magazine

Some pictures of an issue of Game Informer magazine have surfaced today. Now I say "an issue" because I have no idea what month this magazine is from. But it does reveal one thing, possibly the first visual proof that a new C&C FPS in the works.

 

 

You can check more images in this thread on the Official C&C 3 Forums. They are not very clear though, and who knows they could be fake. There was also this description included by the original poster of the thread.

 

According to Game Informer, the C&C FPS, "Tiberium", is to be set 11 years after the end of the 3rd tiberium war. You'll play Ricardo Vega, a Used-to-be- retired GDI field commander. I'm not going to rewrite the article, so just think of it as GRAW + Battlefield + R6: Vegas in the C&C Universe. So far, you'll be leading a R.A.I.D (Rapid Assault and Intercept Deployment) around the location of the tower in the Mediterranean Red Zone that NOD defended until it was built. There's no mentioning of you fighting NOD, but you will be fighting new Scrin infantry (the two given were Shrikes, little knee-high robots with blasters an a self-destruct, and Archons, think Scrin versions of Elites from Halo)

 

The units that were announced that you could command were standard infantry squads, missile infantry squads, an ugly version of the Titan, and new Orcas. You'll still get special powers, like an "Orbital Slug" that you can call upon your foes.

So make of it what you will. There is no C&C FPS until EA say there is.

Looks good, let's hope it's true! Though since I doubt it's follow Renegade's style, I doubt I will care. It'd probably be a C&C Battlefield game or something. I don't care for those much anymore. Renegade was truly unique and if EA would do that again, but with a popular game engine, that'd kick ass.

Hmm, Ricardo Vega, the GDI commando from Tiberium Warz huh.

 

Well I hope at least we get to experiance action in the Zones and go against the Scrin (hopefully). Ten years after C&C3, lets hope the scrin arrive in full force so it can be GDI vs Scrin vs Nod, and that you can fight in ACTUAL cities unlike Halo.

 

I cant wait to try the Mechs and the Mammoth Tank again. I wonder if there will be another Temple assault.

Tchutch from CCSaga said something along the lines of that EA are planning and working on C&C a lot, so its possible a few others are in the works or planning to after Kane's Wrath and C&CX are done.

It better have a campagn. I loved Quake and when Enemy Territory Quake Wars came out, it killed the fun because I like to follow storylines of games.

 

What am I talkin about. If ur fighting the scrin, it probably will have a campaign. LOL

They should make C&C FPS, which is bit like Conflict series: Desert Storm, Desert Storm II, Vietnam, Global Storm and Denied Ops. In other words: C&C squad shooting game. That's my opinion. But what comes to this C&C FPS, hell yea! Sounds great

It says 360 version? Hope so because it would kill my PC. I hope it has split screen co-op modes, they are so fun on rainbow 6 and halo:D

Well after seeing the camera shots on EA I was a climate-change-skeptic... but after seeing these better shots... well I'm amazed.

Squad-based is fun, but GRAW isn't. If EA can make the AI... inteilligent, then okay, but I just shoot my team mates in GRAW and go solo. They're just too retarded and want you to kill them anyways. =/

Id rather prefer a "Half-Life 2" campaign that takes you through a lot of stuff and gives you exitement to completete it several times.

I don't like the whole squad stuff for FPS's..

 

Maybe it's realistic yeah, but it becomes too confusing and disorientating so you can't keep concentrating and have fun.
