I'm an employee of EA too, and it's not true.

See how easy that is?

(I'm not by the way...)

once again the fast ass EA bosses blame the poor developers for not achieving this year's task of getting a new Ferrari maybe its one of them.

how the hell are they gonna sell if they do not invest?

so thats why all this outsourcing after all........and the "last chapter of tiberium"

well EA you are idiots killing developers and a series like that.

and by thinking making it online only will save you......you are so mistaken.

go ahead and buy facebook game companies you f******* idiots.....

did you tell your new empploys than when the stupid facebook flash game "fasion" will fade away (prety soon) all of them will be fired? did you told them that?

a new team should be formed, and find a new home that actually invest $ to cont the fransize.-

+ ∞

EALA and EA will fail with their C&C4

I want C&C to die already. It's a great series but it has run its course and everyone needs to accept it. Mods will ensure the series lives on.

After C&C4, it will be. :P

You can't have a C&C game with out KANE!!!!

Though they can keep developing strange and sexy Red Alert games for centuries. :P

They said they were wrapping up the story, not killing the Messiah. What of the hints toward a Scrin expansion?

This is some shocking and sad news. So many talented people have lost their jobs and the future of the C&C franchise is now hanging in the balance. We now face an uncertain future on all fronts.

Don't expect any official public updates from APOC on this. He has e-mailed me this afternoon, but he simply echoed his Twitter status update mentioned earlier.

Wham. That is harsh. How is that for wanting fewer big titles... :(

Follow up quote from APOC posted at CNC Den: http://www.cncden.com/index.php?subaction=...mp;ucat=20&

Just to reiterate, I am safe, completely. In case anyone was still speculating. I got a passionate community to uphold and intend to do so as i've done within my powers for over 5 years.

Not leaving my gaming family.

Best,

APOC

I have so many questions for APOC about what will be in happening in the future and I will eventually e-mail him. But not for awhile. I would rather let the dust settle. But I'm sure APOC will bring us up to speed when he feels the time is right.

It isn't much to speculate on, but this seems to me to imply we will have post-release support for TT.

As much of an oxymoron as this is, I hope 'not for awhile' comes soon, we need answers.

If worse comes to worse, they can outsource development to Breakaway games.. You know the guys that made KW... The same guys, who built the game on an older version of TW. So on release it was filled with previously fixed bugs... Because you know, that makes sense to them.

The future is very bleak indeed...

What if Blizzard got the rights to C&C? That would be interesting to see what they make with it... Command and Conquer: Starcraft: Tiberian Zerg Rush

It wouldn't be interesting, because by the time it was released, we'd all be long dead. :P

It's the morale factor that astonishes me. You're working for a big gaming company, developing something you're passionate about and work your ass over every day. Then out of the blue, you realise that you're 95% certain to lose that job because of cuts. You're not going to be anywhere near as enthusiastic. The work ethic is lost, and so is your willingness to do the best you can. You're more concerned about keeping your career alive.

So if you fail to find a new employer, you're just gonna be losing the will to continue as you did before. If the whole team is feeling the same, it's going to affect the development and the game as a whole. That sort of thing reflects in the title, and the end product ends up dive-bombing unless the title can be delayed to make sure it can be what it's meant to be.

Adam Isgreen mentioned once about the change to EA as a publisher from Virgin Interactive during the Tiberian Sun development. EA wanted certain changes made, and the whole Westwood team were unsettled. A few people were cut from the team, and positions were altered to adhere to the budget. In other words, morale was deeply affected. The result? Tiberian Sun was released almost unplayable... crippling bugs, unfinished areas and many minor nuances plagued the game. It wasn't until version 2.0 was the game sufficiently stable and in a "launch" finished state...

The question is here though... if morale takes a similar path, and most of the team go... who's to fix the mess?

Damn, I didn't see this one coming. I seriously thought the economic crisis was about to fade away. Apparently not :(

I'm afraid APOC will only maintain his position up to the release of C&C4. As soon as the game is released and people loose their interest in C&C4, he will be gone as well :(

Damn, where does this lead?

I feel empty today, to be honest...

The end of C&C franchise I guess. Gee, I hate all these reshuffling and firing of staff and management crap.

there is no real crysis in the game industry those people has so much money you dont imagine

they just dont want to loose 0001% from their fat salaries and they fire developers.-

Don't jump the gun. It looks bleak yes but no one said this is the end of C&C.

APOC is still going to be here, its the current dev team that is moving on after C&C 4 is done. Perhaps there are plans to bring other devs or move the C&C franchise to another EA studio. I'm just speculating. As I said before there are so many questions to be answered.

If all goes well C&C lives on and the all the guys who have lost their jobs will find future employment elsewhere.

After all, having C&C on your résumé, as past titles worked on, can only only be a good thing.

This will be the end of another era of C&C, and maybe the start of another, who knows? All this speculating is driving me nuts.

Anyway, one more thing EALA, before you go, will you be able to uphold the promise of de-DRMing RA3? And C&C4?

Let's hope it's as easy as that. But if EA doesn't continue the C&C franchise at all, I suggest they "hand it over" to those who deserves it.

Oh god. As much as they deserve the licence, this is a perfect excus for the hardliner westwoodians to begin the ravings about how Petroglyph are better etc, etc...

At least if they do this, we can throw Generals - Red Alert 3/C&C 4 into Discontinuity.
