Acerz492 1 Posted June 5, 2005 Meh, I suppose. But it's not like there are any major wars going on, and besides, I'm not going to be doing much fighting at all. I'm going to be the one who gets in there, sets up a communication post, and ducks for cover. Share this post Link to post
apocolyp4 0 Posted June 5, 2005 Isnt the term New Zealand Airforce a bit of a contradiction Acerz492 your comment about throwing rocks at people who are promoting their religion is disturbing and shameful. In fact you should be throwing rocks at anyone for any reason. Share this post Link to post

Acerz492 1 Posted June 6, 2005 Have you ever seen a fundamentalist christian in action? They are a bunch of hypocrites, my friend. They are the kind of people who would jump on the "I hate Yuri" bandwagon without giving any thought as to why they jumped on the bandwagon in the first place. I know Yuri and Christianity haven't got anything to do with each other, but you can see what I mean, right? Fundamentalists, although some can be nice people, are destroying the very fabric of belief and reality. They mix the two, twisiting them, untill you can either see through their bull**** (like myself and a few other people I know) or you join with them and become a sheep to the masses. Here in New Zealand we have a movement called the "Destiny Church". They are nothing more than a freakin' cult. And yet they are growing frightingly fast, and they have big aspects: They aim to be in control of this country. Yes, their leader, one "Pastor" Brian Tamaki, aims to be our next prime minister. He actually said this on live television. Now how would you like a cult leader, who opposes everything our government has done, to rule your country. I think it's totally insane, and I'm sure you would too. That's why I threw rocks (it was only the one time, mind you) at fundamentalists, because essentually, that's what the Destiny Church is: a bunch of wackos. Yeha, the NZAF isn't much. We had to have some americans come out to one of our airbases to pick a few troops to go to Afghanistan a few days ago. So damn embarrassing. Share this post Link to post
BWare 0 Posted June 6, 2005 @Mina: Where did Bob come from? Hell if I know. Maybe BWare can answer this question, as he does like a challenge, right BWare?  Haha, yeah man. Well the problem in that question is that you are trying to understand a supernatural entity using thinking that is inextricably bound to a natural world. We can't understand it, but God has always existed. He "was and is and is to come." Well anyway... just keep me posted on when you'll be in the states, and we can begin our crusade against stupidity and rid the world of the countless morons  @ tree: The Mormons are completely and utterly seperated from the Bible. They can say all day that they're "biblically based," but this is a lie. They may read the Bible (or their VERSION of it - examples of mistranslation soon to come), but they do so with a VERY skewed understanding of it. It's far-out teachings (some of which I detailed earlier) are not supported in any way by the Bible, and anyway, it violates the biblical command not to add or subtract from the Bible. Just go ahead and read the last sentence of Revelation. Another MAJOR problem with it its the constant changing of beliefs and teachings. It wasn't long ago when poligamy WAS supported, blacks were not allowed in, salvation for women was much different (it's still only possible through a man), etc etc. Oh, and back to the bizarre theology of the Mormons... I just remembered this quote of theirs: "As man is, God was. As God is, man can be." Now tell me THAT is biblically based. According to the Mormons, Adam is the god of earth, and if you're a good Mormon MAN, you can someday inhabit a planet of your own and populate it with your many wives (that you get here on earth......). Mormonism is a cult, right down to its freaky secrecy, biblical base, arbitrary rules, and bizarre theology. Plain and simple. And about the teleological point about God's existance... yes, it is valid. Creation implies a creator. I'll use a classic example... if you're walking into a forest and find a ticking watch on the ground, what is your first thought? Someone left a watch there, right? You wouldn't think that lightning blew some rocks into gears, a cow died and its skin dried into the band, lightning fused sand into a glass cover, and then a tornado blew all the parts together in perfect working order. Similarly, you wouldn't expect a hurricane to blow the contents of a scrapyard into a functioning Boeing 747. Well the universe is INFINITELY more complex than a stupid watch or plane (just consider the human body ). It is foolish beyond belief to believe that we are here by accident. Anyway, if it were true, isn't it weird to think that matter randomly arranged itself to contemplate itself? Reality just doesn't make any sense without a creator! Why is this so hard to realise? Acerz492 1 Posted June 6, 2005 I'm aiming to be in the states in a few months, if I can talk my mate into getting the airfare, I'll provide spending money, and we can get our passports in order. Should be fun, however I'm going to be in Florida, one of my friends lives there. Not sure -where- exactly, but I guess I'll find out Then we'll be road-tripping to Texas, to see another friend. Hrm...I wonder if I could do that all in two weeks? Anyway, This is turning too philosophical guys. I say we all wait untill we die, and -then- find out what's going on. I'm prepared to, I've still got my whole life to live. I think it's time to stop whining, each to his own, right? Share this post Link to post
Mina Synd 0 Posted June 6, 2005 "Mina Synd wrote: o.o maybe Ryan is Bob's creator... Ryan created Jeremy and the world with his head one night, the substance puke is great for creating." Wow it all makes sense now XD!! @BWare - Well now i understand Mormon beliefs a lil more. gotta say, glad i'm not one. i doubt somewhat i could tolerate that lifestyle. Guys are egotistical enough as it is, without them being made into gods (no offence peeps) And for once we have a DECENT creation theory. Normally it's all people going "well. god made it." However i personally still believe in the evolution theory, and it does make sense. would you rather evolve to grow claws or get eaten? Also i didn't mean (continue later) Share this post Link to post
Mina Synd 0 Posted June 6, 2005 (continuing now. Had to stop earlier cos my college break finished and i had to get back on with work ^^; ) Also i didn't mean... that the religious individuals outnumber the athiests... i meant that the atheists outnumber specific religion groups here (for example they outnumber the christians, or the jews etc etc) admitedly they probably won't do anything like a crusade XD! But we've seen what happens the second extremists rear their heads : goverment gets involved... i doubt i'm ever going to forgive the goverment for the waco thing... They acted correctly until the point where the fire was started and the snipers wouldn't let people out of the burning building (still technical conspiracy but camera experts agree that from the helicopter camera, it was gunfire coming from the sniper positions, not water reflections) Either way it was a needless loss of life... All they had to do was play the tape and everyone would have left. : Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted June 6, 2005 Bob is from The Hitch Hiker's Guide, I brought him here for simplicity. @Acerz-if we wait till we die, we'll have to start a new forum in Bobs house (or font lawn, porch, afterlife, ect...) Share this post Link to post
Acerz492 1 Posted June 7, 2005  True, but in all serious, I'd rather wait till death to find out whether there is some sort of religious/creator being thing. Share this post Link to post
BWare 0 Posted June 7, 2005  True, but in all serious, I'd rather wait till death to find out whether there is some sort of religious/creator being thing. That seems pretty foolish... I wouldn't be so quick to shrug off the eternal resting place of my soul :| Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted June 7, 2005 Why not? There may not be anything there... Going on a seperate tangent... Cremanted or Coffin? Share this post Link to post
BWare 0 Posted June 7, 2005 Why not? There may not be anything there... Going on a seperate tangent... Cremanted or Coffin? There "may not be" anything there? Now that's confidence! Wouldn't it suck to be wrong? Plus, all the evidence indicates that there will be something there...... Anyway, about cremation/burial, I really don't care either way. I personally want to be buried, but only because of tradition. Frankly I wouldn't care if I were wrapped in newspaper and dropped in the middle of the ocean- I'm dead! You know, now that I think of it, a Viking funeral would be pretty cool... you know, having your funeral pire set out to sea in a boat and lit on fire- one last voyage into Valhalla... Haha, that would rock. Share this post Link to post
Acerz492 1 Posted June 7, 2005  Why not both? Have my ashes scattered, but have headstone put in ye 'old graveyard? Best of both ways, I say. Share this post Link to post

Mina Synd 0 Posted June 7, 2005 if i got a choice i wanna have some cool death... like in a hail of bullets, being blown up... or having a meteor land on me! n.n who needs cremation or a coffin when you've been vapourized by a big fireball or bullet fire? lol Share this post Link to post
GeneralZ 0 Posted June 7, 2005 How bout just plain cremation? Personally, i dont know how i want to be buried I'm too young..... death is far far away..... I wouldnt be so sure about Acerz and King from their smoking..... well, i predict Acerz and King will die around age 50-60 of a heart attack or from cancer :? Share this post Link to post

Live your life to the full and too the end knowing you have lived your life to the best you could... Luk3us 63 Posted June 7, 2005 I don't know... Dying of old age would suck... Thats not really living.. Share this post Link to post

Don't go around begging to be killed in some tragic loss of life, that's just beyond anything humanly moral. i do... i live a pure existance without alcohol, drugs or smoking and i love my life. But i mean i'd rather be killed by some natural incident in a big mess, or dying in a war doing my duty, then dying naturally and having my family have to pay out for my funeral and/or coffin/cremation o.o i mean at least if i die in a natural disaster or something at least i'm not doing any harm to anyone else... the hail of bullets thing was a slight exaggeration for two reasons 1) i'd never go into combat, i'm too timid 2) they don't let gals fight anyway xD Anyone done one of those life estimation test things? i know it's nothing to base fact on but every time i do them they say i'm going to live til about 90 so yey n.n Share this post Link to post
