I'm not sure how this revolutionizes Command & Conquer 3, but its something different I guess. What's your reaction to this announcement?

Anyway, look for Command & Conquer TV to debut on August 14th.

My reaction was:

An announcement for an announcement, WTF?

Its not an announcement for an announcement, its announcing the debut of C&C TV on August 14th.

No, I didn't mean that the teaser trailer was the announcement for an announcement.

I meant that now we've waited for this supposedly piece of news, just to find out that we have to wait 7 days more until we actually get anything.

That makes the first announcement (the "revolution" on 08.07.07 - Be there!), the announcement for an announcement (today was the "real" announcement for C&C TV).

I mean, it's not like I wouldn't catch this on the web DURING these 7 days to come.

Hyped. :(

Ok I see your point. Over hyped? Perhaps but this is something new, and its a first for C&C.

I feel other loose ends like the Battlecast viewer and Mod SDK should be tied up first before adding something else to the mix though.

My interest in C&C TV? Undecided at this time.

It'll be a joy to see Kucan again tho.

Maybe Kucan's time was limited and this didn't fit anytime else than now. (thinking they can't let their footage get old before they release it, if they do, much of it, like patchinfo and other fresh news, will get old)

Yeah more Kucan is always going to be good. It'll be interesting to see what other guests they can mix into the show and what the content is going to be.

Some high quality commentating on all-star matches would be welcomed but I hope is not majority/focus. Behind the scenes stuff is going to be more interesting. Apart from Kucan, I don't really know what the other C&C3 stars can add, it was a job for them, and only 2-3 days work for a game they probably never played and never will.

It'll be a good 'vehicle' for when the new expansion/sequel is annouced to highlight new tech and units... I imagine.

And if the show becomes acceptable, it may draw out some high quality fan content! Something like our own legos series.

I don't know if Kucan could ever get stale, and perhaps for that reason we might not want to overkill this, but a regular kucan spot in each episode would be great! Maybe Kucan could reveal some little known factoids about C&C in his usual unbelievable style.

ie. Did you know Kane is not bald, he just engages a personal cloaking field over his dome because he has the WORST case of bed hair that all of Nod's technological smugness has been unable to cure.

Anyway, I'm curious and looking forward to this.

(And recover, I agree as menitoned elsewhere, that the annoucement for the annoucement wasn't thought out very well!)

It's not a revolution for us, casual gamers who enjoy playing the campaign, skirmish games and maybe online games for non competitive purposes and maybe mod the game (who also seems to be like 70% of the fans of most RTS games, according to some statistics from the last year, as well as the greatest majority of the visitors from CNCNZ, PPM and Revora). But for those who like to compete on online game, this C&C TV can really be some kind of revolution. As Aaron said in another topic, he misused the word Revolution.

Anyway, yea, it's an announcement of another announcement that will be done in the news part from this BattleCast thing, considering that it has community news and interviews.

Banshee, this show is adaptable to everyone. Imagine an official place where we could highlight great mods out there in video, even interview and highlight you.

This show is not geared just towards competitive gamers, its show that is inviting people to learn more about C&C, about RTS, about competitive multiplayer - by showing the intensity and excitement from a match, and also give you the latest on the C&C world from our development team home.

This is definitely not being geared just towards hardcore folks, its being geared toward all C&C fans no matter what side of the bridge you fall on.

I am personally excited to be able to highlight such things as mods when they come about.

lol... Joe Kucan's part at the end sold it to me.

Perhaps in this show, next week, they're actually say when they plan to release patch 1.07 the mod SDK, deal with D/Cing bastards, and when the glorious expansion is coming.

Eagle eyed people have spotted this pic in the C&C TV trailer....

Some suggest that it could be the Cyborg Commando.

Mmm, expansion I smell. That'll be kind of funny, that one picture will become to highlight of this thing instead of the actual show! :haha:

Tis okay I guess.... I was expecting battlecast viewer. But at least we see Joe!

Yeah it would be nice if that was part of the expansion, but like you said Sonic, could just be old concept art.

..........................................    *heart attack!..............*wake up*............................ :D

Being serious now :) :

Thats is pretty cool, it nice to see that the cyborgs could possibly make a return to C&C3. But that still doesnt say that there is going to be an expansion.

And plus, is this C&CTV going to be a cable television channel or do you need satelite or digital cable :)

C&C TV is not a TV channel. It will be available on CommandandConquer.com, each new show will stream like a YouTube video does.

I think this C&C TV idea is ok, as long as its done right, the shows are fresh and interesting and not just talking, talking and more talking from the devs. Basically I don't want see a glorified video podcast.

Everyone is forgetting EA didn't hype this, they just put up an image on their site. Yes, it could have had the 14th of august as the date, and posted the video to explain what'll happen on the 14th.

But yeah, totally hyped by the fans and not by EA

Anyway, I don't like the look of whoring out kane :( making him less cool.

I know we see "Kane" in the teaser trailer but we also see Joe Kucan appearing out of character. Hopefully we can see and hear some of his classic humour.

Just because we see Joe Kucan there it doesn't mean he playing Kane all the time.

Yea Kane is a character, no matter how much we want him to be real, Joe is an actor who plays him. :P

The image they placed had the words "C&C3 will be revolutionized". Don't you think it's overhyped? Do you think the fans over hyped? Revolutionized is a strong word, pal.

But it was a revolution! It was the first time we were unable to guess what the announcement was! You have to admit, nobody guessed it correctly 8)

Nobody can guess what can happen tomorrow yet it's another day, just that. ;) Nobody can guess what happens in a movie, yet it's not a revolution. :P
