Command & Conquer: Legions (New phone game)
ApornasPlanet posted a topic in Command & Conquer: General Discussion
So there was a new Command & Conquer phone game announced called C&C: Legions. Here's the official trailer and here's the official website with information about the game. The official website is pretty cool, take a browse! The unit designs doesn't look that bad actually. Gameplay on youtube. I didn't play Rivals and I don't think I will play this either. Anyone into phone games, what do you think? -
Recently I found, via the Wayback Machine, this little and apparently highly obscure gem: Future Conflict. It's a free (technically shareware) DOS RTS game, lovingly copied almost verbatim from Command & Conquer and Red Alert (and not in the least ashamed of that mind you!) by Chris Jones, better known for being the author of the Adventure Game Studio toolkit. If you look past the "programmer art" level graphics (that aren't very bad, actually), it's a fully-fledged game with a single-player campaign (only one side though), skirmish mode against up to three AI opponents, and functional multiplayer mode. There's even an equivalent of Red Alert's rules.ini. The author accepted registrations, which would endow the user with a mission builder, a unit editor and a campaign editor (no idea if anyone registered). But otherwise the unregistered game is fully featured and has no limitations. Oh, and it fits on a single 3.5" floppy disk too. It's a bit tricky to get it work with sounds in DOSBox though, but a pre-installed version is available here. Make sure you use the current SVN build of DOSBox, not the latest stable version (0.74-3) from the DOSBox website.

Twisted Insurrection: Public Beta 5 Progress
Aro posted a topic in Tiberian Sun / Firestorm Maps & Modding
Hello CNCNZ! Long time no see! Some of you may be aware that I (Aro) announced my resignation as Twisted Insurrection leader a few months ago, I'd just like to inform you that I have changed my mind on the matter due-to several reasons and will be resuming work as normal! I apologize to our fans whom I may have disappointed, but I'm happy to announce that it was, afterall, only a temporary leave. After recent discussions with some staff members and some other people I consider to be my friends, I have managed to be persuaded to think otherwise about my resignation, so I owe a lot to the guys for helping me pick up my mood again. One other main deterrent of keeping up working on Twisted Insurrection was the fact that Windows 8 hindered my ability to resume work at the pace that I usually keep, but now thanks to a lot of fine-tuning and fiddling, everything is back in order again. Once Public Beta 5 is released and I have found an almost-perfect solution to the Windows 8 issue, I will include a tutorial of how to get TS/TI working correctly on the dreaded operating system. Now that I am back in the game and finally have internet set up at my new home, I am pleased to inform you that Twisted Insurrection will resume progress as normal! Not that Twisted Insurrection has been quiet for all those months, quite the contrary. We are only 2 Nod and 3 GDI Missions away from having a completed campaign, big props to Q45 for all his hard work. Once both campaigns are complete, some additional challenge missions will be created and then work on GloboTech's... missions... will begin. Now, I know what you're all thinking, which is probably something along the lines of "But Aro, when will the faction structures and units be finished?" and the answer to that is simply this, I don't know. ErastusMercy, the lead voxel artist for Twisted Insurrection has been on hiatus around the same time that I took my "leave" due-to several reasons, one of which being to embark on working on his mod, Emerald Prophecy, now for the Unreal engine, but hopefully he'll be back in the game soon. Lin Kuei Ominae, the Nod Building artist for Twisted Insurrection has been unable to use 3DSMAX for quite some time now, but that time is drawing to a close very soon (we hope), once he is able to begin work again, the Nod structures will start flying out again. Henskelion, our cinematics artist is also busy with studies, meaning that progress has been slowed too, but not for long. As for GDI, well it's just a matter of whether the artist in question has time, I'm going to discuss things with some of our SHP artists and see whether or not we can get things rolling at light speed again! So we have taken quite a blow in terms of staff activity, but things are going to pick up again as from today. Sadly, no, I can not give you a set date on Public Beta 5's release, but that's only because unforeseen consequences are bound to happen if I start making promises on release dates. Never-the-less, looking at the progress that has occurred and how much shorter our to-do-list has grown (with the exception of some faction graphics), we're nearing completion, and whilst it's not just around the corner, it's going to happen! Tiberian Sun modding will not die until we die. **** you, Windows 8! Check out Twisted Insurrection's pages around the web!- 1 reply

C&C Tiberian Dawn Redux Campaigns Completed! (patch v1.44 release)
sgtmyers88 posted a topic in Generals / Zero Hour Maps & Modding
***STATUS UPDATE FROM THE BATTLEFIELD*** C&C Tiberian Dawn Redux patch version 1.44 is now live! This patch completes the long awaited story campaign remaster with the cinematic sequences included! Check out the latest trailer below: After 10 years of tedious work overcoming lots of headaches to fully adapt a classic game into a modern 3D game engine, the C&C Tiberian Dawn Redux Mod has finally completed the remastered story campaigns of the original Command & Conquer released over 20 years ago with over 30 singleplayer campaign missions and their cinematic sequences! As seen above, when designing the existing campaign missions, a great amount of work goes into every map in order to attain the best possible accuracy and detail. On the left is an image layout of the original C&C95 map of the respective campaign mission and then the recreated version in the Mod can be seen on the right rendered in the C&C Generals World Builder. And yes with some clever hack and mod work utilizing World Builder scripts and the existing campaign system in Generals, the epic ending cinematics will also be included! To conclude, I feel that anyone who is a C&C Fan and an RTS Gamer should give this Mod a serious look as I think you will be pleased with the quality of the finished product considering that this is a still just a C&C Generals Zero Hour Mod. It has come a long way since the early days! Check out this fantastic gameplay video courtesy of TaxOwlbear. ***WARNING! CONTAINS SPOILERS!*** I again want to say THANK YOU to everyone in the C&C Community who has followed and contributed to this project since the beginning! As of this writing the mod is officially finished! However, I will not rule out additional releases in the future in the form of bug fixes for rebalancing or making additional bonus missions for expanding the SPEC OPS campaign. ***DOWNLOAD THE LATEST PATCH HERE*** ***DOWNLOAD THE FULL CAMPAIGN CUTSCENES HERE*** ***GET THE FULL VERSION OF THE MOD HERE*** Also feel free to like and follow the Mod on Facebook! ©2017 sgtmyers88 & The C&C Tiberian Dawn Redux Development Team -
need help getting C&C in a window plz
Pensive_Wolf posted a topic in The Ultimate Collection / The First Decade
I installed the Command & Patch for the first decade 1.03 though I am seeing 1.06 patches around and am wondering what most up to date. after installing the patch I started the C&C up and the movies and faction selection screen are really small, not taking up the whole screen, leaving 3/4 of the screen black. though the main menu is full screen. get in game and the sidebar is full screen size, but the game is still small and leaves a lot of empty black space. I'm having difficultly getting ddraw.dll to work, is there a guide for it somewhere maybe? really want to play C&C in a window. I have installed the first decade command & Patch, added the ddraw.dll to the game exe folder but I'm getting an error when starting c&c (see screen shots below) what am I doing wrong? what settings do I need to fix? the configure setting listed here (http://hifi.iki.fi/cnc-ddraw/#download) are a little confusing to me and I'm not sure what I should be changing. please help. -
In celebration of the 20th anniversary of C&C Red Alert, I dug this model out of my archives from many years ago from when I was new to 3D modeling. It is simply a converted and edited model from C&C Renegade for use in C&C Generals. Texture/Skin was also a quick photoshop edit to transform it into a Soviet version of the iconic tank. This was never released IIRC and was originally never intended to be as it was just a model to help me learn how to rig and retexture models for C&C Generals. The Gmax and other source files will also be included. DISCLAIMER: As mentioned above this model was originally designed/edited for C&C Generals but with a little bit of work it can be redone to work with C&C3 or RA3. Credits go to Westwood for the original Models/Textures Rigging and other edits to make it functional with modern C&C games go to sgtmyers88 File attachment was too large so I made a download link HERE

Red Alert: Chaos Theory - New ideas for an ol' favorite
hxazgalor posted a topic in C&C 2013 [Cancelled Game]
I originally posted this in the topic "C&C With a New Storyline" but I thought I'd just start up a new topic here to share what I did these past few months. I actually drafted (and am still drafting) a whole new take on the entire C&C universe. Put it all on a couple of .rtf files too, so will upload them later when the last few bits of their details are done. Essentially, things will kick off at the end of Yuri's Revenge. The tentative title for the first of 6 parts (going from RA to TW) is Red Alert: Chaos Theory. It'll be an RTS and a mod for Tiberium Wars (I kinda like the engine, though I do know the RA3 engine looks cooler and stuff). Here's the intro summary I wrote: "The Allies have succeeded in defeating Yuri's psychic forces with the aid of the Soviet Union. A new lasting peace treaty was formed between both factions in the wake of Yuri's defeat, with both President Dugan and Premier Romanov pledging to collaborate and rebuild all that was destroyed in the long war. Unfortunately for them, Yuri's legacy yet lives on in the form of his most promising disciple, Alastor. Bent on freeing his master and continuing where they have left off, Alastor leads a new legion of fanatical psychic warriors against the combined might of the Allies and Soviets." I must apologize in advance, though, as some elements of Chaos Theory may or may not be heavily influenced by Mental Omega's plot and units, and even a wee bit from Twisted Insurrection. These will be changed if anyone has some better suggestions to offer. The plot is also still in prototype stage, so that's also open for discussion. There will be three major factions duking it out: the Allies, specializing in high tech, high quality units; the Soviets with superior firepower and now some added flexibility (due to a faltering economy); and the Psychic Legion that rose from the ashes of Yuri's Psychic Army, specializing in stealth, psionics and advanced weapons tech. Gameplay's going to be the usual C&C fare: build bases, mine ore, build an army, win. It's going to employ the RA3 system where (almost) every unit gets a special ability, and there will be support powers available to each faction and are faction specific (like the Top Secret Protocols in RA3, but available to the player after building specific structures like in C&C3; they also cost cash to use). Each faction also has sub-factions that add new units, buildings and/or support powers, much like Kane's Wrath. I don't think there's gonna be any new features to add, but again this idea of mine is still in its "early alpha" stages so comments are most welcome. I have to admit that I'm quite new to the entire C&C universe, especially the Tiberium Wars one, so I'm sure that there will be a few errors here and there in the plot and what-not. In any case, below you can find the first general document that details each factions' unit, base structure, and support power line-up, as well as a few extra bits of stuff. I'll be adding detailed info files for each faction in the near future, once I finish up the one for the Legion. Expect to see new stuff up here every now and then, whenever I'm able to add stuff. Also, I am not actually planning on making a C&C3 mod for this, as I don't have the time nor the resources to make it possible. But if anyone is intrigued and is keen on trying their hand at turning this into a mod, then by all means please do. I'll help out as best as I can with the story and vision, as well as any other ideas I can try and think up. I actually joined the CNCZ community just to share this, haha. Anyways, enjoy and do leave your feedback on what you think of it so far. Thanks guys RA2 Chaos Theory.rtf -

Do you guys/girls have an IRC Client? What is IRC? - Internet Relay Chat: It allows you to connect to a server of choice and chat with people in channels. Why would i use it? - Well, we have a growing community of IRC servers linked up together who are all C&C related. You would get to know the community better. Perhaps even start a C&C game with them if you have the same C&C games and play together. How can i use it? - Read the tutorial unknown created over here for install and configuring instructions. What IRC server could i connect to? - The address for the CnCIRC is 'irc.cncirc.net' which consists of several servers from the community making up 1 big network. If anyone has questions, please do post them and i will attempt to answer them

Recently downloaded the 1.3 patch for The First Decade after the reader in my DVD driver went to hell so I could continue playing C&C. The patch worked for all games except for Zero Hour (which unfortunately is the game that amused me the most). After installing the patch, the blue batch file appears with all games coming up "Patched", all worked without the disc except for Zero Hour, which still asks me to insert the DVD. I am using the link found here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/est1svg5xex0z8h/tfd-103-rev4.exe And the download application named: tfd-103-rev4 in my downloads folder. Generals is fun and all, but it's getting a little old without all the different variations. Any help is appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

We' were so excited about the new C&C and EA backstabbed all of us...... Really sad to see all hardwork go in drain, although a box 60$ would have been much better than free to play model but still wiping off everything , EA again proved why it is the most hated thing, they can only make stupid FIFAs

Hi people. So here's the issue. I have designed a SP mission in XCC editor for C&C Tiberium Dawn, and when the mission starts, instead of focusing the view in on your MCV that's arriving in the South East corner, (with a couple of machine gunners already there, taking out a few NOD troops), the game starts with the view focused in blackness on the NOD base in the North West. I've looked at other missions in the editor where there's a 'drive in' of the MCV etc, and the game view always begins focused on that area. Any ideas? I don't think there's a trigger.I did create the NOD base first when I started the map, so not sure if that's it? And also when I get that fixed, as everything else is fine, triggers etc, and pretty good gameplay, where does one upload them for people to try them? I wouldn't mind if someone could try them before I pop them up here or wherever they go these days! Cheers, Cleavus

First of all, I couldn't find a trace of a similar topic via CNCNZ's search engine so don't harass me about that. Alright, I've downloaded a "new" freeware Tiberian Sun game since I lost my last one somewhere in a PC clean-up. Seems as though it's not the TFD version, yet it doesn't contain any of the FMV cutscenes that are supposed to appear before and after missions during both campaigns. Including the general faction intro videos. From what I've seen in a short run-through, only the victory and defeat short cutscenes are included. Don't ask me for a link to the download because I oblitherated any traces of it "by accident" a few days ago. I need help (instructions & download links if possible) on how to add those missing cutscenes back in the game. This is not Firestorm we're talking about, but I would appreciate any help regarding FS aswell 'cause I'll most likely be aquiring the expansion pack to go along with the original again. It's been a while since my last digging and whatnot through older games, but I think I'm in need of FULL versions of the files listed below for TS (and perhaps some other ones + also for FS if possible), but I'll let the 'classic C&C hackers' that prey on innocent gamers around CNCNZ run me over it, ofcourse... MOVIES01.mix MOVIES02.mix (both are already present in the game folder, by the way) Also, the 'intro/sneak peek' button does nothing, so it's safe to assume that FMV is not there.

Here's a cool fan made video. Using the power of the Frostbite 2.0 engine that powers Battlefield 3, and Red Alert 2 for inspiration, some dedicated fans came up with this. It's almost like looking into the future of what's to come with Generals 2 next year. We always enjoy seeing creative stuff like this. So if you spot anymore, let us know.

I recently downloaded Nyerguds old C&C TD three language Dos pack, made way back in 2005 and have been playing it in Dos Box. I know everyone has switched focus to working on the C&C Gold version but I'm enjoying playing the old dos version. My question concerns getting all the music to work. The Nyerguds dos pack does not come with music although it has two songs in it's playlist. I've seen that when I drop in the scores.mix from any other version of the game (I've tried all my old C&C disk and the Gold 1.06 scores.mix file) it simply says "unable to load scores.mix" when I start the game in Dos Box. The only one it will read is the scores.mix that comes with the three language dos pack. I have figured out how to edit that scores.mix file so that it has the two songs in the playlist and they will play. However I can't figure out how to change the playlist itself so I can add more songs. Is this data that's inside the executable itself? I've scoured all over the place for a solution to this problem, and found a few people with the same issue that didn't ever seem to find a fix. I figures I would post on the forum here and see if I could ask the man himself (Nyerguds) if he could point me in the right direction for fixing this? I would really appreciate it. Either way thanks for keeping C&C TD alive

Command & Conquer has always been about destruction and explosions. It's not a Command & Conquer game unless you have something to blow up! One dedicated fan has made a video demonstrating some of the best explosions that all of the Command & Conquer games have to offer, as a sequel to his Red Alert 2 'Splosion. Watch and enjoy . This video has been on YouTube for a while, and it was highlighted on the Official C&C Twitter page today.

Ever since the announcements of Command & Conquer: Generals 2 and Command & Conquer: Tiberium Alliances there has been more hate towards EA and the Command & Conquer franchise. Well, more than usual anyway. @Alex06, who has recently been added to the CNCNZ.com team, has written a lengthy article to address all of this hatred the fans seem to have because it's probably mostly due to confusion, misinformation or a general lack of understanding. Here's a part of the article. This is an article that should be read by all Command & Conquer fans. Click here to read it.
